Steemia will be a mobile application and a PWA over the Steem blockchain. The main goal of Steemia is not just to have Steemit on a mobile device. Instead, our aim is to bring the community a social-media aimed product. Think about Facebook over the Steem blockchain. Our goal is to bring the users a friendly yet powerful user interface that looks like a social media.

Steemia will have 2 streamlines. The main streamline will serve posts under the tag "Steemia". Under this streamline, all you will see are post as you see in Facebook. However, if you switch to the mainstream streamline, you will be able to see all the content available in the blockchain. So why 2 streamlines? We decide to do this because not all users will want to see all the posts available in the blockchain. Simple as this.

Steemia has a UI based in Material Design which looks fine in both iOS and Android devices. So far we are not mainly focusing in UI but in the logic behind the app. We are just a team of two: @hsynterkr and @jaysermendez. So, after the logic of the app is complete, we will start working again into UI.

The app will use SteemConnect as authentication provider. SteemConnect makes the auth flow smooth and secure. After successfully login into the app, SteemConnect assigns each user an unique token which is saved into the device of the end user (we will not store the tokens in any way).

Features

• Chat: We believe that communication is one of the main point in a social media. Hence, we will be implementing a peer to peer chat into the application. Users will be able to communicate with their friends in a secure way: Not server interaction will be needed since both clients will be connected using a peer to peer connection.

• Video Calls: Extending the peer to peer chat, this can be done by using the amazing WebRTC technology and the peers id to connect a video call without any server interaction other than signaling.

• Push Notification: Everybody hates missing a notification or mention in social media. Therefore, a push notification system will be implemented into the application to notify the users important things such as messages, mentions, and wallet transactions (More functions will be added accordingly).

• Search Engine: This is possible thanks to AskSteem. A search engine is a hard thing in this big blockchain. The team of AskSteem did an amazing job by creating this system.

• Image Upload: We know, it is too tedious to have to grab a link into an application. Even though most of the apps living in the blockchain has this feature, we will also have it. We will rely into Steepshot API for this purpose. After negotiation with SteepShot owner, they agree to let us use their API for our application.

Also, more features will be coming during the development of the application. Most of them still need to be discussed before posting it in public.
