Hey readers, it is me again! I am still in Splinterlands, although to be honest there is currently not much incentive to be there. :/
I think that is at least part of the reason why a lot of posters are falling silent one by one.
Yes bearish market momentum is obviously part of the explanation, but also Splinterlands has not a lot of initiatives to retain its existing player base.

Back to the routine: Ruleset of the week it is called "Melee Mayhem" and it reads:
"Melee units can attack from any position.
Prime use case for melee units with Bloodlust.
Abilities take precedence where targeting is concerned."

So basically it is about melee units attacking from any position.

It just happened to me that the following battle popped up:

So the battle is somewhat very special. It has a low mana limit and only Life splinter is allowed to enter the game.
My idea was that I bring one big unit into the game (with the potential to heal).
My opponent had a different idea and distributed his available mana more even among the units.
Little hint: If you know Splinterlands you might already guess the outcome of this battle looking at the image above.

Round 1, well it did neither go good nor bad, I think. My 0 mana unit got thrown off the board as my opponent brought some Sneak attack with him.

Round 2 however ended up worse than the round before. My opponent's Meriput Magician was regenerating more health than I could inflict per round.

Also he dealt one more damage per round than the amount I could heal, so this battle is obviously only about (my) attrition.

And I failed this battle.

What is my personal conclusion of this battle? -I should better go with more units and not focus on quality too much. Because even the small units get a chance to attack thanks to Melee Mayhem ruleset.
