Hello everyone! Its Friday night ! Time to get the weekend started . I hope you are all doing great 👍.
This is a succulent that if you use the google lens will tell you that its called the Ghost. But growing up with my Mom and Grandma whom all loved plants, called these "Hen and Chicks". The so called leaves (Chick ) Can easliy be displaced from the main plant. You really dont even have to push the end piece into the ground, but its quicker and more guaranteed that the plant will start roots and grow into another adult (or hen ) if you do put it in the soil. There are many varieties but this type has always been a favorite of my family. I wonder if its more for nostalgia? 😉

I suspect it is because the plant tends to have weird alien-like flowers.

That's what I've thought for a long time ! It (the leaves) are actually so self-sufficient that it can go a long time without watering. The bulk of the leaves are nothing but water.
