I've really tried to be positive over the past few years on the blockchain....But if you have read my content, my Threads and my recent Snaps you'll know that I've been a Grumpy Gus of sorts. I have been trying to find my 'place' here on chain since I sold my online businesses.

Before I sold them, I knew exactly what I wanted from this chain...I wanted a community, I wanted to bring affiliate / online businesses to the chain, and I wanted to never have to worry about online payments again. Those things kind of went away when I sold my business and I started hanging around the $LEO community a lot.

It was the most 'entrepreneur friendly' community on chain but when push comes ot shove, that will always be a technology / finance hub. Two things that I have not much interest in. But the people kept me there for sure, Lions were truly awesome people! But something was missing....

I kind of tread water while making posts now and again but the 'fun' that I once had here on chain disappeared for me...

And then I discovered @snapie a few months ago....And the motor started firing up again! Here was a flawless mobile app that made using and engaging with the blockchain, specifically short form content, a joy!

https://img.leopedia.io/DQmUyxycNFNZhKNUaj8ep58pny44GB8NZ7BWPBDatRWEXXS/IMG_8673.jpg

I absolutely love this app! It's something I've been waiting for ever since the idea of short form content started to become a thing again here on chain. And I find myself checking Snapie before any web 2 apps each and every day when I wake up. That tells me, we're headed in the right direction.

And then along comes @threespeak and just blows me away with everything they have been doing...Almost behind the scenes!

https://img.leopedia.io/DQmXRFtD3eZuceNw4X9JEg6HaB26Vk1QCtek9aQGugREKqH/vetvteetv.png

This platform has always had some of the biggest potential on chain but building a video platform, especially one based on the blockchain, must be a MASSIVE challenge. After years of trial and error, I think this team has found something that works and works VERY well. Not only has the front page had a huge facelift that makes it just feel like a million bucks, but uploading your content has become a breeze!

So here I am, happy as can be....Loving the new and the classic apps on chain and then I discover....

@sportsblock

Ha ha ha ha ha ha I'm actually beside myself with how absolutely epic this platform is.

A bit of a back story and then some screen shots and Jongo love :)

Sports and that niche has always had a place here on chain. We saw the sportstalk token really capture the attention of the community years ago, and while the topic is broad and the sports are diverse there has always been a passionate fan base here on chain. I personally used to do threadcasts on Threads during football games and got quite a bit of engagement from the community.

However finding a 'home' for sports and it's fans has been a challenge...

https://img.leopedia.io/DQmZv3nU4GTBr7PJAeXw7C2DjCw3GXW5n2wgABV838CYqj8/Sportsblock-Where-Sports-Meets-Blockchain-03-12-2026_08_57_PM.png

As soon as you come to the front page of this platform, you are just in awe of how awesome it looks. It's laid out like the creators @blanchy and @niallon11 actually CARE about this project lol Because wow, they have put their heart and soul into this and it shows.

At first, you see a 'front end' for their community and love what is offered. A blog community for sports content, even a container for their 'Sportsbites' feed which is their version of Snaps / Threads....All focused solely on sports!

You see their MEDALS token on TribalDex too and you are excited....You can earn them, tip with them and stake them.

But then you learn about.....Predictions.

I'm the first to admit, I have no idea what this 'prediction' stuff is with all the tech people...Could care less. But what Sportsblock uses it for is...Wagering. But without needing to use Hive or fiat, we use MEDALS. How cool is that???? Maybe that's what predictions is? Don't know, don't care. This is new to me LOL

https://img.leopedia.io/DQmfK9qoM3SZq5XWD5pw6LSFeo7vC64LFP3wBA9NuZZH3Ui/Predictions-Sportsblock-03-12-2026_09_03_PM.png

And I admit, I'm not the biggest gambler on the planet, far from it....But the rest of the world, especially in the sports landscape LOVES them some betting. And there is an in-house betting platform, built on hive, right here in Sportsblock.

I dunno guys, but things like this make me super excited for what's being built on Hive again. And here's the biggest reason....This is all being done during arguably one of the worst bear markets this chain has ever been through. And even though prices have tanked, development and passion are still here. And it's evident!!!

For me, this is what makes this place fun...I'm sure there is a time and place for tech stuff. I'm sure people droool over charts and price analysis of crypto. But then there are people like me, who just wanna use this stuff...And have a blast doing it!

There's so much FUN right now, being built on chain....I can't wait to see what happens when the price starts to grow again....We truly do have the greatest blockchain!

Yeah, so many cool new things despite the token price being in the dumper!
Loving me some snapie!

Hey man, good to hear from ya! Hope you are well!

For sure...I think that's the blessing in disguise. Hive has always had passion behind it. People genuinely love this platform so building on it has been natural. It's a shame the price doesn't reflect the passion, but I'm still pumped up for everything that's being developed.

I think the shift from running a business to exploring the blockchain can be challenging, but nice to see you finding joy again with Snapie ;)

Yeah it's been a weird journey. I always had passion for this blockchain, but not sure where I fit in after I got out of building online businesses.

Hive has so many different things, and I am always happy to see people build new things. I didn't know about a few of those projects that you mentioned.

Have you considered watching paint dry? More of the same hype is not fun but just makes people cynical. Be real, not bunnied-up marketing.

@jongolson | March 13, 2026, 3:15 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Bunnied up marketing? LOL You think I get paid to give my opinions here? I wish I did, God knows I'm broke.

@sugarfix | March 14, 2026, 2 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

It's not about being paid but putting a bunnied up spin on everything. Been in crypto so long the hype just becomes part of the blur that is the wind blowing through the trees. Reality stands out over bunnied up marketing because we are all different. B.U.M. doesn't have a personality (and neither does AI) whereas we all do ..........even if we feel empty of one at times.

@jongolson | March 15, 2026, 1:44 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Hype and Hive are two things I've never seen in the same sentence lol

Nah, this isn't hype. Or 'BUM' for that matter. It's just a guy that's been in crypto for years, actually excited with what he's seeing here these days. Nothing more, nothing less.

That being said, if you know anyone paying for bunnied up marketing, I'd gladly smile for the camera and sell a Slap Chop!!!

The great things about medals and sportsblock is that it does give a real use case to their native coin. With the predictions and contests. And we all do like contests, it even feeds the brain with ideas to post about.
I do hope that sportsblock will rock and I will support them to the max.

@jongolson | March 13, 2026, 3:16 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

It's so cool. I had no idea what it was until I tried it out, now I'm hooked. Need more MEDALS lol

@fullcoverbetting | March 13, 2026, 3:28 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

We all need more medals. More liquid medals. Did stake them all. Should keep some liquid in the future.

@jongolson | March 13, 2026, 3:38 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Yeah I decided to do about half and half. Love the tipping element too on the content. Just a cool platform all around

I don't know if I'd say it's fun again, but these new initiatives certainly are. I love Sportsblock, especially because it aims to generate revenue through advertising instead of draining the common fund. The predictions are a good thing because they attract people, and some even burn through Hive.

That's the right word - despite all the price action, crypto sentiment, etc., things are built on Hive every day that makes it more fun. While I haven't posted lately, I'm happy to see what's new on Hive practically every day...

yeah i think it’s less stress for me too. i’m no longer trying to ‘keep up’ with all the tech jargon. just enjoy the platform.

I'm also very excited about what's happening. It's extraordinary to see so much development. And so many users who are committed to and enthusiastic about Hive, that gives me confidence and the desire to keep growing.

How have you yet to ban the biggest spammer on the platform from your program? Negligence much?

@acidyo | March 19, 2026, 6:28 a.m. | Votes: 14 | [ VOTE ]

Why do you care so much? People mute/block people all the time, just move on.

@acidyo | March 19, 2026, 7:25 a.m. | Votes: 14 | [ VOTE ]

I'm sure I had a good reason. If you can link me to the timestamp of the mute I could bother looking it up, if not that's okay, there's plenty of other people we can connect with without going around mentioning someone muted you over and over, right?

Good luck trying to get anything rational out of that one. If you don't agree with him, you're blind to what he thinks is the problem. If you downvote his spam, he thinks you're conspiring against him.

20 replies to my comment. Only one from you. He claims I am the bully. It all started when he pasted his rant in reply to me a few months ago. I asked him to stop, and he responded with literally hundreds of replies on pretty much everything I've written for the last year. So I downvote, and he plays victim.

Thanks for replying - I didn't think you'd see my post.

As I was notified of the mute, I presumed it was recorded on chain. It looks like a public record of you considering me a nuisance, and I try to be respectful at all times. I came here for open dialogue. It looked like you shut it down without comment.

It was Jan 23 on tx_id 4097335304. I recall two interactions with you preceding this. I posted about fairness on your thread, which was entitled, "Fairness", and then the POSH claim, which I thought was a great idea when I saw it mentioned. I returned it after the mute.

Thanks for taking the time. Like you, I take my reputation seriously.

Now I'm thinking he could be a false flag:

He is the non-conformist who is persecuted by the evil whales who have him on auto-zero. In case you might think there may be a case for reform, you get a dose of how such a "victim" behaves. By now you should know that to not be content with the landacape is to be an annoying ass, so just shut up or you will be just, like, him!

Well, he certainly is filling those shoes, is he not? 😆 Thanks for the words of support. I'm astounded by the over 40 replies he put here when I asked him to be understandable. He, obviously, is acting in bad faith.

@harvestmoon299 | March 14, 2026, 12:38 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

I hope you write shorter replies and maybe link to your long-form exposé posts.

Your rep being down is the only thing stopping my phone from almost crashing from these long posts! Every now and then I "click to show" on one of your replies and almost always regret it. I guess I could mute, but it's not my style.

@harvestmoon299 | March 15, 2026, 11:39 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I'm not reading all that. Looks like the same needless verbosity.

I have yet to mute anyone here. Every now and then I click on your replies in case you are saying anything new. I was stunned one time to see that gangstalking account in the code of ecency or something to simply remove his posts from being viewed! Are you testing to see if they'll add yours?

If you respond, could you please omit the 5000 character "signature"? 🤣

@harvestmoon299 | March 19, 2026, 6:22 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

I haven't dove into Hive politics beyond opining on what I see is helpful. I was surprised to see @acidyo mute me. I don't know if it was due to my comment on alternative steemit forks or because I looked into POSH, claimed an airdrop, and failed to successfully connect my X account.

I reserve mute to accounts I truly do not want to see again, akin to a block on X. I even didn't mute gangstalker, noting that the muted posts just stopped appearing one day.

@harvestmoon299 | March 21, 2026, 6:39 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

I think it is a great idea to have a feed where stakeholders curate visibility and priority. If you can make a case for misuse of vote power then, while you may be limited on what you can do for the monetary effects, you can affect the traction their input gets in curating posts. All we need is a feed that users can tweak to weight curation. I may value curation from someone I trust with more weight and value curation from a bad faith curator negatively. With people frustrated about unwanted authority telling them what they should and should not care about, I think such a feed would be popular.

@harvestmoon299 | March 20, 2026, 9:13 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

I'm heartened to see that not all your replies are like this, but why do you include stuff that blows up my mobile client at the end of your posts? That barrage of such posts looks to be meant to irritate and not show good faith.

BTW, if they ever improve your reputation score, do NOT stop telling the truth! Just tell it in a responsible way.

I've found that I can read these replies better when not expanding them from a thread. If your content was not suppressed by a click requirement then I can imagine being unable to view any thread that contains more than a couple of your resource-intensive replies. Thus, you are making the case for keeping your reputation low to allow people to see content that is relevant.

That being said, @ecency could improve their android client to not be susceptible to crashes from content such as this.
