Greetings friends, I present to you the Leptoglossus zonatus, which I made a first identification through Google Lens. The resemblance is quite close, but I put the name of the genus as an identifier.

I understand that it is a hemiptera, belonging to the family of leafhoppers (thanks to Wikipedia). I made its recognition in the city of La Puerta, Trujillo. Venezuela.

Its coloration is predominantly dark brown, with yellow bands near the head and in the middle of the body. This combination of colors is not only beautiful, but also acts as a defense mechanism, helping to confuse its predators.

The antennae are long and thin. At the back, the abdomen is slightly rounded. This insect feeds mainly on plant sap, using its specialized mouthparts to pierce and suck the leaves. Its hind legs have growths that make them look larger, which is why it is also known as the “leaf-footed bug”
