Good afternoon, lovely people of @diyhub! Today I'm feeling very happy and motivated because I'm bringing you a lovely recycling and sustainable fashion project. I gave a new life to a sweater I no longer wore, repurposing it for a new occasion.
These kinds of projects are my favorites because changing the look and feel of a garment into something completely different makes the process so much fun.

El dia de hoy me encuentro muy feliz y motivada, pues os traigo un lindo proyecto de reciclado y moda sostenible. Donde le di nueva vida a un pulover que ya no usaba, aprovechandolo asi para una nueva ocasión.
Este tipo de proyectos son los que mas amo hacer, pues el cambiar tanto la presencia o estructura de una prenda a otra completamente diferente, hace que el proceso sea tan entretenido.

The fabric had a unique, pretty, and very summery print, although its texture was a bit thick.
From the beginning, I envisioned a design with some gathering, either at the sides or the front. Then I thought of giving it a puffed effect to elevate the style and add a touch of something different. I finished it off with a shell or wave effect on the sleeves and neckline.

>El tejido tenia un estampado unico, bonito y muy veraniego, aunque su textura era un poco gruesa.
Desde un inicio pense en un diseño que tuviese algun fruncido, ya sea en costados o delante. Luego se me ocurrió darle un efecto bombache, para elevar el estilo y cambiar un poco lo cotidiano. Rematando con un efecto de concha o olas en mangas y cuello.

Procedure:
1st step:
I started by cutting four fingers' width from the bottom up, and with that piece I cut two strips to make the bands that would go over the bridge at the front. I also cut out the outline for the neckline and sleeves. Then I was going to use a zigzag stitch to create a shell or wave effect.

>Procedimiento:
1er paso:
Comencé recortando 4 dedos de abajo hacia arriba, y con esa parte saque dos listones para hacer las tiras que pasaran por el puente en la parte delantera. También saque el cortorno del cuello y las mangas. Pues alli iba a hacer con una costura en zig zag el efecto de conchas o olas.

2nd step:
Take the electric sewing machine and sew a zigzag stitch all around the edge of the neckline and sleeves. Then, sew the front of the sweater together at the center, leaving a one-finger seam allowance. This will serve as a bridge for the strap. Next, hem the bottom edge and insert elastic for a gathered effect.

>2do paso:
Tome la máquina eléctrica y pase una costura en zig zag por todo el borde o contorno del cuello y mangas. Para luego unir o empatar por el centro el frente del pulover, dejando 1dedo de margen de costura. Sirviendo asi como puente para pasar la tirita.
A su vez realice el bajo de la parte de abajo y coloque un elástico, para e efecto fruncido en dicha área.
