One question, out of curiosity, why the 1 month old rule? As a newcomer, this sounds like a great oportunity to show I have good ideas and can bring something original/funny/whatever to the table :)
(I'm not saying I would participate even if I could, it all depends on whether I come up with any good idea, but nevertheless, it'd be nice to have the opportunity if I can think of something cool)

Your point is fair, but my goal is to help those who have been here a bit and are struggling. No offence to the new content creators, but there are some people who have been here a bit, and have put the time and effort in, but have come up short. As I stated in the post, if this goes well I will run other contests.

just letting you know, that my reputation was 49-50 by the second day on Steemit. If account must be at least 1 month old, most people have over 40 rep by that time. not a lot of people will participate I think.

not everyone gets that lucky. It took me 2 months to get to 50. And that was with a few small whale upvotes. I think it makes sense to cap at 40 if you want to target the "unlucky" ones.

I didn't even have good payout. I think comments grow your reputation. but I might be wrong. I was replying to everyone and commenting a lot and it grew in one day.

Interesting and impressive, but that is definitely not the case for everyone. I have been active on Steemit for a couple months, and I am just now at 43. I am sure it depends on the topics of your posts, and the communities that you engage in, but I think my slow growth experience is closer to average.

It's also worth noting that @kpine's reputation was in the 40s when he first posted this, so it really does depend.

travelpine While I don't actually live there, one of the most breathtaking places I've visited lately was Lake Louise in Banff. Absolutely stunning views of mother nature, a serene lake at the bottom of a glacier with a cool hotel that reminds me of a hotel in the Swiss Alps that James Bond would find some two-faced villain in. Also, drink some Ice Wine. It's a local liqueur that is distilled from some sort of local berry that flash freezes in the winter and they collect the juice concentrate and create some crazy high-octane alcohol. Anyway, go Canada!!!

Well, it appears he's from Canada, but I'm all for shorter distance travels, they're so eco-friendly! And goddamn that ice wine sounds good right about now.

I have an issue paying attention to details. Place of origination aside, still an epic trip to take! I want to go back in the summer and go for some hikes!

Awesome! Great first post! I am not one month old yet, and I am just a newcomer, in fact I am only 1 week old. From what I have read in steemit, I am impressed by this smallish group of content creators sharing creativity with everyone! Also the fact that there are rewards make it even more awesome! I am so glad to have found out about steemit.

I'm not eligible for any part of this contest, but I wish you well wherever your travels take you, and hope everyone can show off the best of their current places of living! There's beauty in every place on earth we humans call home.

That is very cool, but I would definitely try not to limit myself on reputation score alone though. The initiative is cool and unique, but reputation between 25 and 40 seems a little bit low. I mean, there's basically people with reputation scores of 55 - 65 who still haven't been able to "get the most" out of Steemit yet so to speak.

Anyhow, that's just my suggestion. It's your idea and your show. I'm just here to enjoy the ride! :)

Hi @kpine firstly, cool initiative, and congrats on your first post! Really like the idea that you are trying to help some of the more shy steemians, who have not posted much content yet, but... 2 things... 1.) I think perhaps you should not limit entries to just a score of 40 reputation. I think perhaps it is a shame that I (as a newbie) and I am sure some other good content creators who have received a good reputation quickly are not eligible (but hey that's just my opinion).

Secondly and more importantly I have another question... How with only 2 posts have you managed to build up $11,985.512 of steem power?!! I am very confused and interested to know how this is possible?

Hey man, first of all a great initiative to help fellow steemiters like myself that are just getting started. The place i would recommend to you is my hometown Krusevac in Serbia . You should know that this is a reaaaaally small place compared to the size of Canada, so you will probably get a feeling of it as a kind of a little village. But man can you enjoy this little village! Serbia is famous for our caffe shops that are always full and energetic and positive people, are cousine and cultural meals like sarma is guaranteed like nothing you have ever tasted before. Fun fact we have a clock that is maybe 10 meters high in the centre of our town, and we locals like to make fun and compare it to the Big Ben of London ( even though the size is unhumanly bigger). There is the Tower of Car Lazar which dates back to 1300 which means it's 700 years old ! That is one of the main attractions of our little town. You have probably heard of Belgrade, which is currently the capital of Serbia, but i bet you didn't know that Krusevac was once that ( about 300 hundred years ago ) The party life here is also various if you are interested in that sort of thing. I've met so many Steemanaians on this trip, and made so many amazing friendships. I couldn't have done it without your support. I'm currently in Thailand!

Although I'm not from Thailand, I would totally recommend you check it out. The people here are so kind and nice. The weather is amazing with gorgeous views, and if you do end up visiting, I met some AMAZING Steemanians out there I could set you up with.

I actually told my tour guide about Steemit yesterday, and he is currently getting his account approved. If he does get approved quickly, I'll have him enter your competition, as he will be a minnow, but his video skills are AMAZING! I think he has so much potential and good content to offer. I'm pretty sure you will be sold to go to Thailand after that. (Edit: I just realized he needs to be on for at least 1 month) :P.

INFORMING THE MASSES - A short list of some of the abuses against @Noganoo by Satanic whales on Steemit.

For those of you who are unaware @Noganoo was sexually abused when he was 5 years old. Bernie Sanders learned this from Fyrstikken whom Noganoo trusted and confided in and then was betrayed and slandered by Fyrstikken whom Noganoo brought to Steemit. Noganoo only requested that Fyrstikken send back the 10 Bitcoins he stole from SatoshiHorizon through his “altcoin investment fund.” Noganoo stood up against Bernie's flag abuse towards SeaBlue which caused the war that you are seeing today. Bernie swore to destroy Noganoo because Noganoo defended the helpless minnows on Steemit. Below are just a few of the terrible insults they have spoken against this Christian man. Please visit @Noganoo's blog and support and encourage him through these demonic attacks as his old friends have forsaken him. Not only do these people verbally attack Noganoo but they antagonize him until he responds in anger, then they sent the FBI to his house for "threatening." Noganoo has requested to all of the whales on steemit directly for them to speak to these 2 fraudsters and tell them to stop. Not a word was said in one year and now he is resorting to further action. The abuse will stop. If you have any information as to the identity or whereabouts of BernieSanders or Pfunk please contact abuse@steem.in. There is a substantial reward and you can remain anonymous. Noganoo is unable to file a restraining order against these 2 until he finds their identity. BernieSanders is a pedophile and should not be rewarded with upvotes on Steemit.

First of all let's go back to before this all started. Noganoo was investigating the fraud and theft of 10s of millions of dollars of rewards by Donkeypong, Gavvet, Sauravrungta, HanshotFirst, Kevinwong, The-Alien, JrCornel, Sweetsssj and Knozaki2015 with their organization called "SteemGuild" where they used the Steemit Co-founder Ned's account to vote for themselves instead of the "minnows" they claimed to be supporting. Go look at all of their current account values and you can see that over 1 year ago Noganoo was right! They paid themselves multi-millions for only a couple months of curating on Steemit. Something the rest of us do for free. You can see that these people and their friends are the only people who have ever attacked Noganoo. They are trying to cover up their theft. If you go back on the blockchain you can see Noganoo's accounts previously supported most of these authors with his thousand bot voters early on in the platforms launch. https://steemd.com/@sweet-banana?page=17 Then Noganoo called out The-Alien for his common use of the word "Motherfucker" in his fiction stories that were upvoted by their "Steemguild" to number one on trending every day to "raise money for the guild." Fact is they stole millions of dollars. This rebuke prevented Noganoo from ever getting an upvote from that guild which controlled over 30% of the voting power on Steemit at the time.

Pfunk proceeded to individually message everyone that upvoted Noganoo and slander him and threaten them with loss of support if they continue to upvote his articles. Pfunk, Berniesanders and Ausbitbank costed Noganoo over 50,000 dollars in losses last year. Ausbitbank attacked Noganoo to impress his witness friends when Noganoo is the one who brought him to Steemit. We are currently in Thailand and it is definitely one of the most amazing places I have ever been. There is something for everyone out here. I personally love the beaches in southern Thailand. They are all beautiful and the water is warm.

We went snorkeling in Koh Phi Phi yesterday and saw colorful fish, turtles, and sharks.

I am actually doing a multi blog piece on the 5 continents and 40 plus countries i have traveled to and am sharing the best of the countries i have been to in each continent. My passport is expires in May so i am sharing my travels original photos for that exact reason, to give folks the travel bug. Australia is great country to visit, even wild birds are friendly especially when you have some food for them.

Go to Wild West Wyoming! It is truly an amazing place if you like to ski Jackson Hole is amazing. One of the best resorts in North America. The views are amazing, the people are friendly, and the wildlife is always out.

I cannot say specifically where you should go. However, I don't think that you should go to a place that is way different from your current location. Heck, if you live in the US, just start by going to a different place in the US. If you want to get out of the country, I suggest either Canada or England. Once you are finished with those, I suggest you could move on to more exotic places, slowly moving yourself outwards so you don't feel uncomfortable.(BTW, my account is not one month old. this is merely a suggestion, and I am not entering, however i would like you to follow me if you are up for it. )

This is awesome. I think you should head to Lisbon, Portugal where STEEMFest2 was held last year... it was a beautiful quaint city full of character. I’ve been here for six months and I’m trying real hard to get to a 60 rating. I suppose I’m on my way with passion and consistency. Thankyou for your vote last week I.T made me so happy. Il share some travel /living experience though if that’s alright ! I now live close to Miami after being in New York for my whole life and it’s the most incredible thing ever. I.T may be an acquired taste but I think it’s unbeatable. Best Latin food you’ll ever eat. The churrasco with chimmichurri is my favorite ! They have all sorts of cool stuff as well. Russian/Turkish bathhouse is amazing. I.T has all sorts of crystals and they pump water from the ocean into there stuff it’s so cool 😎 if your into dancing and Latin woman that also is a known hit in Miami. Anyway you have given so many people wealth here and I truly am envious. Maybe you’ll be posting more and I can get to know you some more. Firstly, do you even need to be in one place? If not then I would recommend traveling to South East Asia, where it's cheap and unbelievably beautiful. From there travel around, find a place you love and stay there. When you're fed up.. just move on. It's as easy as it sounds. I'm living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you make it here, i'd be happy to show you around.

I'm a traveling spoken word artist and although I don't qualify to enter... I had to recommend coming to Lake Atitlan in Guatemala which is where I've been for the past few months... It's a place that is beyond magic...

I've been traveling across India hosting steem meetups along with @firepower to grow the Indian steemit community and put personalities to usernames. Here's a video from the Jaipur meetup. As a part of this journey, I get to visit new Indian cities very often. Visiting Jaipur is highly recommended. If you ever end up in Jaipur, don't forget to visit a place called Chokhi Dhani. It was an amazing place and I wish to visit it again. You'll get to experience food and culture at a single place.

I just came back from Japan a month ago ( I go pretty much every year) and seriously its like one of the best places to go. There are things to do for every season - winter you have snowboarding/skiing, spring you have cherry blossom, summer you have the beaches in Okinawa and autumn so see the stunning autumn leaves.

BANKS IN NIGERIA

Nigeria banking system is modern and extensive. There are many banks in Nigeria, most of them are connected to some International banks making it easy for International travellers to withdraw and save money in the local banks. A proof of identity such as driving license or International passport will be required to access your account in the bank.

ATMs

There are plenty ATMs in Nigeria, almost at every corner and in every bank branch in each city; you can withdraw money from them using your credit or debit card. You can load your credit card with money before travelling to Nigeria. However, keep an eye on the exchange rates as you plan your trip. You should inform your bank that you will be using your credit card outside United States and also check for transaction fee for international withdrawals.

Currency Exchange

You can change dollars to Naira at exchange shops at the airport or any of the local banks. Other Bureau de change offices are located in Ikeja.

SHOPPING IN NIGERIA

Shopping in Nigeria is fun; each city in Nigeria has major markets where people shop for different things including food items. Sometimes, the market sellers will follow you around, asking or begging you to come buy from them. At the markets, you will need to ask the price of anything you are buying. However, you can negotiate and offer to pay a lower price . If you are not happy with the price, smile and walk away. There is always a major shopping mall in most cities in Nigeria. The shopping malls are always grand and there, you will find familiar designer stores and well-known brands. Most things are already labelled with price and you do not need to barter or negotiate.

I haven't been on the platform long enough to be considered, but to answer your call for help...I think you may like traveling the country side of the Carolinas. While the cities are nice and diverse with many eateries and things to keep you entertained. I would suggest the quieter, more peaceful side as you can see small towns that normally get passed by. I would recommend a spring or early summer trip while flowers are in bloom and humidity is low.

I would love to invite you to my country Venezuela, which is one of the beauties of the Caribbean, its beautiful beaches and natural wealth would make it one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. But lamentabente at this time my beautiful country is immersed in a large mine, drug traffickers and corrupt have taken power and there is no democratic way to get them out, my people are eating from the garbage, an inflation that exceeds the logical levels. I would really love to tell you about the beauties of my country Venezuela and tell you why you should come, but unfortunately I can not.

First of all I don't write this for competition.
I am from Romania, a fish shaped country in Eastern Europe. Our Govermment is corrupted af, our Education Minister is an illiterate person and stealing is almost legal.
But despite all this, Romania is an amazing country if you wanna enjoy astonishing landscapes and wild nature. And if you ever wondered how is like to live without light and internet in the mountains, how is like to live like a farmer in the old way, Romania is the place to come. We also have ice hotels in the mountains, great food and drinks(omg!) and in some places like in the north, people are still wearing traditional costumes everyday and they are the best hosts you will ever meet. Also everything is very cheap!
So the best places to visit are the mountains, the castles and old cities like Sibiu, Brasov, Sighisoara and Iasi. Also you should visit Dacians old capital - Sarmizegetusa Regia.
If you like rock music, Romania hosts the greatest metal event in Eastern Europe: Rockstadt Extreme Fest.
Advice: don't get in a taxy without ordering one first, the drivers will ask you for a lot more money than necessary. Best thing: use an Uber.
Romania is really nice if you discover the beauty of it.

Hey welcome to steemit. Just like you I've been idle and I didn't post anything up until last sunday.

Currently I am in the middle island of the philippines which is cebu.
Why cebu? aside from whale shark, you can travel up to 5 neighboring islands which is great. different taste in culture and food. aside from that language and upbringings are quite different and I find it somehow amusing.

pic is 2 hours boat ride from Cebu and island called Negros. That forest is like the forest in the Twilight series. hehe

Awww. Hardly ever enjoyed good press, but you will be surprised to find out what great sights there are in Nigeria and how warm the people are but my efforts to change the narrative wouldn't even matter. This is because my account is only a week old.

Just avoid las vegas unless you want to be consumed with consumerism and be over stimulated with subliminal spend your money here and f your family advertising. I think. Ever thought about moving to the Caribbean somewhere? Currently Im living on the island of Sint Martin, a beautiful island with wonderful people, even though we had a major hurricane here. All Dutch islands are easy to travel into as an American citizen (Im presuming you are American based on nothing actually haha)

All island here have nice options for yachting life, scuba life and kitesurfing life. Want something bigger?? Consider Panama. I was there last year and it really struck me as one of the next places Id might move to. So many options there! City life, jungle life, sea life and cheap as f&ck hahaha. Super friendly people as well!!

I'm currently sitting 2nd on the travelpine tag on the travel page. My post is about one of the spectacular hikes in Oregon, which should only be about an hour away from you. It's not a huge exciting around-the-world trip for you, but it's close enough to swing by for the weekend. I don't mention it in my post, but Portland is also an incredible place to visit... it has every possibly nationality of food available, and is overrun by super cool and entertaining hipsters. Come on by!

@kpine how long did it take for you to earn such a large amount of money? I suffer from anxiety and working a 9-5 is 10X more difficult for me because of all the stress weighs me down emotionally and physically. I have a talent for story telling and any form of writing (Not to brag) and I really want to make a living out of this. Right now its 58 degrees with clear skies and sun, I'm sitting at my desk with the windows open in my house. The breeze from the a dying "coldfront" is subtle, but carrying with it the salty air from the ocean less than 3 miles away. The blue skies with a small fluffy, cotton ball like clouds make the perfect view out my office window. Being a native Floridian, of course I also have a small heater by my feet since 58 degrees is still a tad chilly for me, nothing like Canada. Today, once my work day is over, I'll be headed to my favorite spot on the beach where I will back my car up to the waters edge, sit in the bed of my truck, and watch the sunset. Living on the west side of Florida has it perks.

From that spot, the sun sets between a pass. The island on the right is honeymoon island, the island on the left Caladesi Island, both rated number one beaches in America within the past few years. The white sugary sand feels so good between your toes. This weekend, if the waves arent too choppy, I'll take the kayaks out to Caladesi, or one of the nearby sandbar islands where I can hang out and soak up some sun without the noise of tourists.

If it is too choppy for the kayaks, I'll ride the ferry over to Caladesi Island where I'll hike (in shorts and T shirt since it will be in the low 70s :)) down one of the 6 mile long trails that run through the natural preserved part of the beach.
If I'm in the mood to people watch, I head over to the next beach (only 15 min away), Clearwater Beach, to walk down the board walk, shop, hang out at great bars and eat at delicious restaurants. I'll enjoy my day people watching, watching the skateboarders and long boards roll past me, the cruisers with their handlebar mustaches and santa clause like beards flowing in the wind, and the bikini bottoms walking by.

My second favorite spot to watch the sunset. At the edge of Dunedin Marina there is a Shack like structure with picnic benches. Sometimes I grab food to go and hang out here. I specifically live in Dunedin. I am so proud to say that I am born and raised in this little gem of a city. With its quaint Downtown, artsy vibes and microbreweries scattered everywhere, It's an evening you dont want to miss while visiting.

I may not qualify for the contest because my rep is high, but my city was nominated the Greatest Outdoor City in America by Outside Magazine. Come and enjoy the Great Outdoors in Duluth/Superior (Twin Portrs) and surrounding areas. You Will not be disappointed. Unless you hate nature of course :)

I'm in love with this idea

So talking about Ireland after seeing many amazing posts aboit Thailand seems boring, however the little green island i am from is amazing in the summer months. For a small place you may not think it but has a rich history (some dark) but also lots bright :) Ireland has some amazing scenery and the people are friendly , storytelling is i suppose at this stage an Irish staple, art is also very polular, the people are creative and optimistic. I recommend a visit in the summer months ( but dont just stay in Dublin) there are many beautiful views across the country just waiting to be discovered! :)

This is the city where I was raised most of my life. Porto in Portugal.

I heavily suggest it, it is a city founded pre roman era meaning before the year 700. Where in terms of architecture you will find more then 1000 years of history. From roman to medieval buildings and bridges. Portugal was considered the best tourist destination of 2018 and Porto the best in the European Union for a couple years in a row.

You will find amazing food for very cheap prices ate each corner and its the perfect place to get lost where every now and then you can find a new beauty.

It is also home to one of the biggest Erasmus communities (European student exchange), non stop nightlife and its full of culture and art. Very easy to travel trough nearby cities by train and public transportation and it has amazing weather after spring.

I'm originally from NYC, born out in Jamaica Queens. I think everyone knows about Manhattan, which we call "the city" if we're in other parts of New York City.

That's right--there are five main "hoods," each with dozens of smaller neighborhoods. We call them the five boroughs:

1. Rich people live in New York City, usually just a few streets away from people who are not very rich at all. So when it comes to buying things, you always have a choice between where people with lots of money shop and where people without lots of money shop. Teachers don't make a lot of money for the most part and are nice people to talk to.

2. Wear comfortable shoes. We walk a lot here, especially when traffic lights and one way streets will double the time it takes to walk five blocks. If it's further than that, consider the subway or a taxi, depending on which is easier.

3. You always have to pump your own gas. Ain't no full service. Plus that little stand that keeps the pump on hands free doesn't exist in the five boroughs.

4. NYC folk enjoy tourists and will talk to you even if their face has a (I smell something) stank look.

Thailand and it is definitely one of the most amazing places I have ever been. There is something for everyone out here. I personally love the beaches in southern Thailand. They are all beautiful and the water is warm.

We went snorkeling in Koh Phi Phi yesterday and saw colorful fish, turtles, and sharks.

We have so many amazing dishes (spicy or sweet-sour, whatever you like), countless street food, even the breakfast you could eat 30 days without repetition. You can find some lovely landscape in the South and West part of the country, from Shenzhen, it's easy to across the border into the world's most amazing city Hong Kong.

No matter you are into a overland trip. or city trip. you find your options.
Maybe the only problem could be the language barrier, but I can help you on that issue. No worries.

The warm spring has a temperature of 70oc at the source and 37oc after meeting a cold spring. The meeting point of the warm and cold spring is a unique attraction to tourist.

Nepal is in South Asia, a small country in the lap of big Himalayan between great India and China. It is rich naturally and culturally. Some of the places I would recommend in Nepal are:

Tomorrowland!!!!!

There is nothing you can say that can top that and if you haven’t heard of it you lived under a rock.
But for those who don’t know, Tomorrowland isn’t a country nor is it a city.
but what is it then guys! It’s the greatest music festival in the world with the size of a small village. I last two weekends of three days in the summer.
They have more than 10 stages and they are always spectacular and it’s just crazy here is one of my pictures with my girl from last summer.

We went early so we could look at everything without the croud. this is the main stage

This festival happens every year in my small country Belgium in the city Antwerp.
I would recommend going to Tomorrowland but I hear you thinking “maybe it isn’t worth coming to Belgium for just a festival” ( I can assure it is). But for those in doubt, Belgium is in the center of western Europe and you can start in Antwerp (this is where I live), really beautiful with amazing variety of restaurants and great places .

My point is from here you can travel in whole western Europe with the train and visit other great cities in Europe like Amsterdam(Netherlands), Paris(France) or even Berlin(Germany). They are all just a train ride of a couple hours away and you can do this pretty cheap.
I’ll make a post next week about Tomorrowland with more pictures and in more detail. I've got some amazing pictures, some you wouldn' believe are true.

Elets is one of the most mysterious cities in Russia – the regional center, part of the Lipetsk region. Once is a fortress on the banks of the Bystraya Sosna river, which flows into the river don. Today Elec – a peaceful small town with beautiful natural landscapes and temperate climate. The winters are moderately cold and summers are warm and Sunny. The average temperature in summer +20 C, winter -10 C. Precipitation annual rainfall of about 500mm. Sometimes in the summer have dry severe thunderstorms.

Come to China if you want a different experience! I've been here for four years teaching English and guitar and it's certainly different :P I only planned to come for a year and I'm still here! If you want to stay for a few months to a year you could easily get a teaching job and not just survive but make money and go home with more! Hey man. Just saw your post. Here's something from my visit to Auli, India last year. This place is not as frequently visited as other places in India hence less people around here. The locals are nice and love tourists coming over. You can do skiing, trekking and night camping further on from Auli. Plus if you visit during August-September then you can have access to flower valley(I haven't seen that yet so can't comment much).

By the way, I live in Brisbane, Australia. Amazing place to live. Great weather for 11 months of the year (January is a bit hot). There are also great beaches on the Gold Coast (1ookm south) and on the Sunshine Coast (100km north). There are several amazing islands nearby as well. Also you cannot miss the nature. Australia has some of the most fantastic and unique animals anywhere in the world. I would go on but I'm not in the contest. Good luck guys and gals.

Truely, if you want to visit some good places, you have to come to Nepal. Listed in country to visit by many travel magazines many times, this country is heaven. The culture, the people , the food, the vibe in here is so good that ever visitors visit next time for sure. This is the country of Mt. Everest and birth country of Lord Gautam Buddha. Along with 7 out of 10 highest mountain, we also have the mountains to trek, heights to bungee jumping, rivers to raft, unlimited thrill for life.
So go grab the back pack , buy some tickets and rush in .

What a great idea! I was thinking of writing a post on Cape Town but i'm not sure many people would want to come visit here now with our extreme water crisis going on!

Im also from Canada, Im from Manitoba and I got a brother that lives in abbortsford. When I first started reading I instantly thought about writing about Vancouver, as I have had alot of fun times there and the surrounding area. But im sure you have taken the ferry a few times over to the mainland lol. Dont want to write about my home town as I want to get out of here probably more then you want out of Victoria. Normally I don't like all the "Competitions" but I actually like your idea.

1. You give people a subject to write about: Lots of folks struggle with coming up with ideas, 'goal setting' with an incentive is pretty clever on your part.

2. More importantly, you're not asking for anything for yourself in return other than some posts which, OK, will give you a holiday destination lowdown but will benefit Steemit as a whole far more by generating a wealth of content.

I would suggest you to make a trip through the countries of the Balkans. I know that most probably you have heard of this part of Europe from one of many wars that happened in this area during the last couple decades, but I would argue that the countries of the Balkans have much more to offer than the stories of war or crime, as it is portrayed in the western media.

My suggestion for you would be to start your trip in Albania by exploring the southern part of the country which offers spectacular scenery and beaches rivaling Greece and Croatia but you will be able to make that experience for the half of the price or less, while in the north you will be able to get a sense of the Albania's mysterious highlands.

You could continue your journey to Kosovo, Europe's newest country which although it’s not really a travelers destination, it offers incredible hiking opportunities and the chance to visit objects if cultural heritage.

Your journey than can continue to Macedonia where you will get the chance to explore UNESCO world heritage national parks, dramatic mountain ranges and the captivating Lake Ohrid this country hidden gorgeous destinations.

Montenegro would be the final part of your journey through the Balkan countries and you will be definitely seduced by the charm of the Montenegrin coast. With options like Ulcinj, which used to be famous pirate town, or the city of Budva which represents the tourist metropolis of Montenegro.

In each one of countries you will find restaurants with home-made food and fish specialties, cafés with beautiful terraces and excellent cocktails, hotels with pleasant staff and unforgettable views. With proper preparations you can make the whole tour in about a week and believe me it will be worth.

I joined in January and it will be February tomorrow...Does that count as a month? I would love to tell you about South Africa.

Last fall, I came to the United States of America for the first time in my life to further my studies. I still remember the day I arrived in San Francisco - it was a chilly, misty night, with the moon just above its zenith, disappearing and reappearing amidst the heavy fog that perpetually encompassed the Bay Area. Coming from a country where the climate is hot and humid all year long, the air in San Francisco felt surprisingly refreshing to me.

Over the next couple of months, I spent my time exploring the city of San Francisco. Now you might have heard rumors about San Francisco being inundated by homeless encampments, and although that's true to a certain extent, it still does not discount the city of its beauty. Take the homeless street performers, who busk at Union Square every now and then, for example - the quality of the music that they produce can be astonishingly good at times! To give you some context, here's a picture of my friend jamming on the guitar with a homeless street performer:

If you do come to San Francisco, make sure you do the following:

1. Take the trolley car through the Financial District to Chinatown to Fisherman’s Wharf.

2. Visit the famous swing at Kirby Cove.

3. Walk down the Embarcadero just as the sun is setting. The point is not seeing an awesome sunset; the point is that as light becomes lesser and lesser it shines through the palm trees and on the road and creates a very eerie and relaxing feeling of the place. And, because it’s on the opposite end from the setting sun, instead of getting sharp light it’s the opposite- smooth and nice; hence the feeling.

4. Watch the sunrise at Twin Peaks - no matter how tired you are. Trust me - it's definitely worth it.

5. Skateboard the piers from the Embarcadero to Pier 39 and grab an avocado sushi roll looking over Alcatraz.

6. Walk to Lands End with a couple of friends after stopping by Japantown and eating some delicious food, then watch the sunset at Lands End, eat and drink and talk.

7. Go for a hike at Angel Island.

8. Don’t forget to visit the Holocaust Memorial just outside the Legion of Honor. It’s small but one of the most moving memorials to the Holocaust I’ve ever seen.

9. Of course, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. It's kinda overrated though, so if you're just there for the Insta-worthy picture, I would suggest you go before 4-5 PM cause that's when the sun starts to set and your photo quality starts becoming really shit.

10. Go to Bi-Rite and get a nice cone with your favorite flavors and then go to Mission Dolores Park and kick it with your friends for the day.

This might be a little clichéd, but I have to end this piece with an Oscar Wilde quote:

Croatia is a country where you can find all kinds of different natural settings. For the beginning, Croatia has a thousand islands (well, to be exact, 1244 listed islands, small islands, rocks and ridges), and one of them is heart shaped. That would be the island of Galešnjak:

Woah kpine! I never thought I'd see you post, this is awesome! There's a lot of awesome places that I want to travel to this year and one of them is Thailand, Chang Mai! It's a very cheap trip, 2-3k would have you living luxury and there's tons of great fresh fruit and food there.

If I was traveling in the states I would say that traveling to see some national parks would be amazing, I think California is beautiful, I live in San Diego and it's also a wonderful place to visit if you enjoy hikes and beaches. If you visit SD I'll take you around a bit to see the beach and the vegan food spots!

That's a great idea to bring in a little price for some good ideas.
My advice for you is come to Europe in general make a trip through many different countries. All European countries have some nice spots and depending on where you go its not hard for you to see many in quite a short time.
On this way you will experience many different cultures and histories and for me that' what travelling is about!

As for my response to this post though, I live in the UK. Two cities that are pretty great here are Cardiff and Bristol. Thats awesome of you to do. Im ineligible but will say one of the best places i ever visited was the big island of Hawaii. I flew into Kona , stayed there for a few days then went down to Puna and Volcano, so much to see, the weather is beautiful, and everyone I met was awesome. Funny on my way there, I was supposed to have an 8 hour layover in BC, but then planes were late and I was sent through Atlanta instead...anywasy, I was checking out what to do around BC and it seemed like an interesting place that I would want to spend more then 8 hours at anyways, so Ill be out that way sometime this year.
I am from Buffalo, NY. I like my city, but I don't love it, and try to get out as much as possible, maybe ive just been here to long.
We have some great architecture, Niagara Falls, a pretty bustling local art scene, good music, great food, one of the most beautiful botanical garden. Its also really close to Toronto, which is a city I love to visit very frequently.

What a great idea, my account is far to big and funny enough my first thought was to suggest tofino on the West coast of Canada but it appears that's pretty much your backyard.

But I will definitely tell you that If you visit my hometown of Samana Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, you will fall in love with it. My town sits on a peninsula on the northeast part of D. Republic. There are plenty of things to see, especially the parts where the whales get together on mating season to zip lining from the top of the mountain. The people you'll meet are so nice and helpful when it comes to showing you a good time. Come to Sydney, Australia. We have beautiful beaches, national parks and the best food from all over the world. Not to mention this gorgeous bridge we call "the coat hanger" and the Opera House in the harbour.

Well, I am more like thinking about, I need your help :) Well as traveling bloggers we could recommend you a beautiful Slovenia. This pocket country really is a pearl. A lot of nature, great people and most important some of the best food in the world. I will just give you some examples we were writting about (saddly with not much effect). You shouldn't stay in one place. Pack up your stuff and start traveling. Go to a city, spend a week or two and move on. There are too many great cities to stay tied down if you can afford to move.

Of course, we have some really prime tips for the perfect location, but since we're younger than a month here, we'll have to keep them to ourselves. That's a pity! :D

The thing is it depends on what you looking for
So probably you miss sun because of your place you can easily go to Mexico especially Quintana Roo region where Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum are. I'm sure you will find a lot of fun there beautiful beaches, people night life and amazing food. If I were you I will pick Tulum, which is kinda less touristic if you compare other cities, if you go down to south you will find less tourist.

I was in Sri Lanka recently, it is a country that you can find everything, night life, surf in the south now and in the center of it they have an amazing cultural sites like especially one of a kind. Basically some researchers guess that Sri Lanka is the Garden of Eden. You can see Adam's footprint.

My lovely country Turkey, you can find whatever you want best food, best places, best people. ( My favorites are Colombian and Brazilan's actually)

So, Latin America is your another option.

I'm apparently too advanced to compete (56 rep), but I'd like to recommend The City Museum in St. Louis. It's incredibly fun and there is nothing else like it anywhere.

But would just like to share the country where i live, I'm form the Philippines :) So many places to see and visit. Beaches and diving spots are countless, delicacies and the culture is beyond words could describe, and the locals are very hospitable. Rich history, rich culture. If you're up to mountain trekking, there are lots of ridges in the country and the list goes on. Wow! This is going to be one of the best contest i have come across. Though i won't be considered ifni applied for the contest because my reputation is higher than it requires. Anyways, my name is Tunde Sunday popularly called T-brown, T stands for Tyrex while brown stands there because it's one of my favourite colours. I am a Nigerian, and i reside in the capital city called Abuja. If you can come to Abuja, its very beautiful, a city that is fast developing and very rich in cultures too. All sort of Nigerian cultures that would make you wish if you were a Nigerian. .......Lol!!! Funny right, don't be, we just a very good atmosphere and believe me, our women are also great, attractive, intelligent, beautiful and greatly adorable that you wouldn't to be alone without them by your side. Hiya! There are so many places in England I could recommend. I have so many pictures but i will only post a couple here. London is an onvious choice. If you are tired of the obvious touristic spots there is plenty more you can do. Like visit Little Venice and take a boat down the canal all the way to Camden market. Plenty to see there. And speaking of markets Portobello Market in Notting Hill ia not bad. In the first photo, you see a man feeds a starving child, with tears dropping down his cheek. Who knows, perhaps he has gone days without eating, not even a drop of water has he seen. But finally, this young small boy finds help from humanity, something he has never expected.

In the second photo, you see a quite number of children and their mothers on the field. I tell you, they waiting on water, and that's why they are carrying their gallons should in case they see water on the way.

In the third photo, we see a white-haired lady with tattoos on her body. This young and beautiful lady, as seen in the photo comes for charity work in Nigeria, and right at the moment, she is feeding a skinny, tiny, skeleton-like child with a something that looks like a packet of biscuit and a bottle of water. I guess the hungry girl has lost all hope, but somehow, she is lucky to receive succor from humanity, from a white lady that is able to extend love and care.

In the fourth photo, we see a group of children together. I wonder why they do not laugh, they do not smile. They have lost all hope; they are living in doubt. They sleep to suffer; they wake up to suffer. Everyday, they wait to hear from humanity, what it has for them. I do not forget their dirty and horrible faces, even their tattered clothes. Spiritually speaking, it's obvious these children are looking for someone who can offer them a chance to live, hope, support.
Those children above need just a small help from anybody, any place, any where, from someone like you. They will be happy to see you, your face, your color, your skin, your language. They will smile and laugh a million times if you can touch them and hold them in your arms. If you could show them some love, it's enough. I know and hope that in your country there is nothing like that. You want me to tell you about my country and why you should come. That is the reason. I tell you @kpine, I think this is the reason you should come to Nigeria. Helping Nigerian children has been my dream. I'm planning on that, and God will see me through. Now, it could be our dream together. I mean your dream and my dream. I'm not bragging, and if you doubt what I'm saying, review my blog, and have a feel for who I am, where I come from, and what I'm becoming.
I'm glad to announce that Nigeria is a blessed corrupt country, and their are people who can stand and keep standing until changes occur.

According to the United Nations children's agency, unless action is taken, 240 children will die everyday.
UNICEF warns 90,000 children could die of malnutrition in the coming year — amounting to almost 250 child deaths each day — unless the international community takes swift action to save the Children.
Tens of thousands of children are at risk of starving to death in Nigeria unless the world takes action.
Come to Nigeria. Some kids need your help. They cry everyday into your little ears, trying to attract your attention. They try to make themselves your night dreams, so that you could wake up someday and choose to say 'hello' to them. They run in their tattered clothes trying to grab you by the hand, and see if you could turn and look at them too, because they know that in humanity, love, care, etc. could be found.
@kpine, come and rock the needy, come and surprise them. The passion is there, and I can see it in you. A healthy person needs no physician, but an unhealthy longs for one. You reside in Victoria, BC, Canada, a very sumptuous environment. You need no other environment like yours, because going to an environment like yours cannot in any way surprise you. Why? Because your environment has what the other environment has, so, it's no new thing. But coming to a country unlike yours will teach you a lot, you will gain experience too, and popularity for your good deeds, just the way you are popular on Steemit.

Awesome to see someone giving back to steem users. Although my city might not be the best to visit in the winter come summer time that changes everything. Detroit is changing in so many ways you have to see it to believe it. Many building being rehabbed and tons of amazing restaurants. Around the city is artwork and beautiful architecture. Every year we have one of the biggest edm music festivals located in the heart of the city overlooking the Detroit river with a view of Canada. If you are a sports fan or music lover we have that covered so come check out motown and experience the motor city.

Wow, sounds like a really good idea and great for the community! I have spent the better part of 3 years in Thailand it's very cheap to liven the people are friendly and the foods awesome! There's so much beautiful scenery too, I can cycle 10km out of the city and I'm basically in the countryside, depending on which city your in ofc. I was in Chiang Mai.

@kpine So, let me get this straight. @kpine actually has been here on Steemit for nearly two years? During that time @kpine literally has not written anything, not a single word? Until 15 days ago? Yet, @kpine has a Reputation ranking of 51? Wow, that is truly amazing. That just goes to show, that really money truly buys pretty much everything. So, virtually with @kpine exerting no effort (0)zero, nada, zilch, nil, has actually elevated @kpine to a such a level that is predominantly much higher than so many others on this site? Many of these members that are with out resources nor do they have the financial means to buy their way in/up. These same members day after day, week after week and month after month contribute to Steemit. By putting their hard efforts and valuable time in and with trial and error having their end results only achieve less of a reputation rank than @kpine. Far much less results in the level of popularity as well. Now, @kpine has decided to put minimal effort in to @kpine user presence? Well once again this seems to have been a Midas decision, in turn @kpine seems to have received a remarkable amount of accolades and substantial reward? All of this the results put forth from those many hopeful dream ridden members/users of this community. Those numerous followers are undeniable evidence of that fact. Otherwise, why else would they be following? The only thing that would be of interest for their choosing to follow @kpine on Steemit is the size of the wallet and potential SP that can be wheeled at any given moment should @kpine choose to do so. Like this monumental event transpiring now. I myself do not see a single momentary act of kindness the measure of "Greatness". So, please help me understand if or where my thoughts are astray of reality. I always welcome insight and really enjoy learning each and everyday during my brief experience with this Awesome Gift of Life. Nothing personal, as I do not know you personally. This is only this man's observation(s) and opinion/thoughts. Final thought, Many times it is better late than never at all.

I would love to recommend Seychelles. Oh my! I heard and seen pictures about the wonderful island there. You get to walk freely and enjoy the island without any fear of being hurt. I sincerely hope and pray to go there soon, would be nice for honeymoon because i planned on getting married soon. I would love you to google it and check it out. I haven't been there but i am excited about even talking about it and that is one of the few places i know that i can recommend for you.

I live in Bellingham Washington, but I’m actually a dual citizen with United States and Canada. I have family all over BC from the greater Vancouver area, to Kamloops, to Vancouver Island. Visiting the island is one of my favorite places in the world. I love the beautiful beaches, the native art, the good food, and the kind people.

What a great idea but I cant join the contest because I am already a world traveler since over 2.5 years now. But I still can give you advice about countries and cities that I have already visited and really loved. We are curently in Vietnam but flying to Bali next week. After that we "moving" back into a camper in Japan (we did this in 2015) and loved it before we going to Costa Rica. I highly reccomend you doing this. Renting a camper ans exploring Japan. It is the easiest and cheapest way. I myself record sounds on all the places I visit and post them for free on my website but I am also going to write blog posts about our journey in Japan with the camper and maybe make some videos again. I hope you enjoy your travels!

WOW! sad i missed this competition by a week or so but WOW >.< what a complete wealth of information!!! i was scrolling through some of these comments and am SO inspired by the travel tidbits, recommendations, beautiful imagery and descriptions of so many amazing places that are homes to our community. my jew literally dropped. @kpine i feel like you could just go ahead and copy/paste these comments and make a "Steemit Places to Travel" book that surely beats out any Lonely Planet or run-of-the-mill travel guide Ive ever read. these are powerful, first hand recommendations and insights from locals. beautiful spots, moments, experiences thoughtfully curated and told first-hand. From the ice-wine drinking in the alps to the New Yam festival in Nigeria (who knew?!) - some of these entries/posts/comments have really made me get the travel bug and think of travel advice in a whole new way. thanks for bringing this on! i hope you plan to post other ones in the future - maybe do another one where the winner travels there with you or plays tour giude to their hometown/city >.< so amazing!:D

I definitely missed this contest fellow steemian kpine, but going to write posts about my neck of the woods in the world anyway.

I do realize this contest has been over for awhile now. I still have some valuable info that i wish to share with you.

Recently i spent 2 weeks by myself in Puerto Rico. It was the first time I had been out of the country. It truly change changed my life, I want to move there now; it was that fantastic.

And also u shared in your post openly to everyone why each person should tell you something interesting about his/her own country and why you should pay visit to such a place. thanks for sharing this very long time ago.
