What is it?
In my own definition, I would say, it is a bigger part of the new world and the sooner we start embracing it the better our lives will be. A Gigafactory is a lithium-ion battery farm primarily for Tesla.Inc. It is currently under construction and upon its completion, it is expected to produce an annual battery power of 35GWh (Gigawatts hour).
This is said to be equivalent to the world’s total battery power currently. Aside from its enormous size (more than 5million square feet), it is said that this amazing renewable energy farm could do more than just provide batteries for future models of the tesla electric cars. It could serve as a source of electricity for a country as a whole. This is the part that gets me excited. Imagine how this can solve electricity issues in countries like Nigeria or Ghana. Would that not be a game changer? Plus it will contribute no or less to global warming as compared to fossil fuels.
Below is a clearer definition of what the Gigafactory is and represents. Please enjoy

Politics will try but remember technology will always win over legislation. This is a more like a trillion dollar project and for it to become available here, it means we need several investors to go in for it. And note that a decade from now, decentralization will be mainstream every where in the world and governments will play little or no role in many countries.
The future we've been dreaming of is right before our doorstep, this indeed is the future and we've got a genius, Elon Musk spearheading it. It will be a game changer not for Ghana and Nigeria alone, but probably the world as a whole.
In my opinion Elon Musk will go down in history as an innovator with the planets health in mind! What he is doing is leagues ahead of his competitors and he is doing it to help save the earth we all live on.
He is the number one person I would like to sit down and have lunch with! I think it would be fascinating to pick his brain from an hour! :)
Just an hour?
I would like to spend a month or more learning from him. The world is about to take a big turn because of the marvelous work he and his engineers are doing. It doesn't seem like he is worried about competitors, he is just doing his best and by far, I'm loving it.
This guy is great. Greatness is in his genes. I recently thought of buying a solar panel to be able to get unlimited electricities. And what came into my head was, if i could charge lots of batteries with my solar panel then i wouldnt have to buy electricity from the electricity company. This is going to revolutionalise the world. If only we all had such a vision. Kwakumax, lets build a gigafactory

We will definitely get Africa a gigafactory before we leave this planet for Mars with Elon. I hope you heard him tell Leonardo, how 100 gigafatories can power the whole world without depending on other alternatives. Great times are coming soon
