The Savior knew the time was close at hand
He knew his suffering was about to begin
He asked his apostles to pray with him
As he began to pay the price for our sins

He was spit on and betrayed by his own people
No one would stand by him, he stood all alone
He was scourged, beaten and given a crown of thorns
Then they drove nails through his flesh and bone

He cried to his Father, take this cup from me
Not as I will, but thy will be done
He said father it is finished and he closed his eyes
On the day they crucified God's only begotten son

The Savior's atonement is a gift from God the Father
His scriptures teach about the Savior and what we must do
He suffered so much so we can live with God forever
He is the path and he's waiting there for you
