I'm probably in the wrong side of steemit to be saying this, but an 18 second clip that starts in the middle of a sentence hardly gives you any context to what is being discussed.
It sounds like she is talking about a potential end to racism, saying (this is the entirety of the snippet posted) "... still, and there is a whole generation, I say this, you know, I said this, you know, for apartheid South Africa, I said this for my own, you know, community in the south, there are still generations of people, older people born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and they just have to die."
It isn't as sensational to understand she is saying that racism is mostly generational, and younger generations don't have as many predetermined thoughts on people based on appearances, and that a lot of those ideas will die off with the people that still hold them, oh FUCK no. She was obviously saying we should round up old people in ghettos, and sick our child army on them.
I love my family, but some of the things I was told and warned about growing up was despicable. I was told to be careful drinking from public fountains because you never knew 'whose big lips had been on it'. I got to be older and was talking to my great grandfather who went on a rant about miscegenation and the dangers of mixing "mongoloid blood" with ours. I was so steeped in it, that for a while I would get nervous walking down the street passing someone because they might be one of those "lazy thugs". I no longer hold any of those beliefs, but the memories are there, and like it or not Oprah is right, for those ideas to die off, it's just a matter of time, because I won't be here forever, and I refuse to talk to my children the way I was talked to.
Edit: I thought you just pulled that out of nowhere ben, but apparently @lukewearechange used the same snippet, and the same "She wants to cull the old people population!" disinformation.
I guess if you read this Luke, I would like to know what makes you jump to the eugenics and genocide side of that so quick when given full context of the interview, she is saying a generation will die [naturally] and the ideas they hold will die with them (which is an inevitability). Is your Occam's Razor broken?
2nd Edit: I was going through your sources hoping that you had maybe done some due diligence and found the whole bbc interview with Oprah (or at least something longer than ~20 seconds), couldn't find it and started clicking through, found the WSJ one about, in your words, "culling the human population", I think using that as a source might have been a little disingenuous on your part, you seem to rely much more heavily on a link in that article.
To intimate that Oprah is endorsing eugenics is quite irresponsible. That you can take a few seconds out of a long speech and make such assertions speaks to someone who really is trying to do something other than inform people.
Having watched the entire interview, I can state categorically that all she was saying was that many racists will not change and we can only get rid of their racism when they die. That is the point she was making. I would suggest that you do a new post and critically analyze the speech instead of making these inflammatory statements. SHAME.
I am yet to hear Oprah say that she is endorsing these things you mentioned. Let me be frank, I think it would be a tragedy for her to get caught up in the filth of US politics. She has absolutely nothing to gain from it. Plus, she does not need it.
PLUS SHE HAS NOT SAID SHE IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OR EVEN CARES TO.
Also, I am not following your logic because you start out with Oprah, then you move into geopolitics and even then you touched on a number of things without being grounded in anything in particular. What are the parallels here between the things you mentioned and Oprah? Maybe that was not your intention, but the headline really set us up for it. If you are going to criticize Oprah, do so, but you sir, are all over the place. And that eugenics statement, which I assume you are tying her to, is bothersome.
All the woman did was give a speech encouraging people. My gosh, is the country so divided that even the best of intentions are turned on their head, and sullied and stained to appease people who are reaching for all the negativity they can scrape? Again, SHAME.

What began as a hashtag — #Oprah2020 — and a few jokes on Twitter has escalated to full-blown theorizing of Oprah Winfrey’s chances of landing in the Oval Office.
After Winfrey’s powerful speech at the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday, even President Donald Trump weighed in on the prospect, and his daughter, Ivanka, tried to ride the Oprah wave. An idea that a couple of years ago would have seemed all but impossible now has plenty of political observers asking: Why not?
Oprah certainly possesses a level of star power that rivals, even surpasses, Trump’s. She has wide name recognition and is well-liked, especially among coalitions important to Democrats — women, African Americans. Some, however, are already begging Winfrey not to run. America shouldn’t be a place where celebrity is a prerequisite for politics, they say, and we don’t need another political novice in the White House.
Responding to the buzz, President Trump on Tuesday said Winfrey’s hypothetical campaign would be “lots of fun.” “I did one of her last shows. ... I like Oprah. I don’t think she’s going to run,” he said.
At least some in the political world seem to be taking the Oprah 2020 idea seriously — showing just how much Trump’s election has rewritten the rules of celebrities in politics. Oprah proved in 2008 that she has plenty of political power; her Golden Globes speech has sparked debate about how she should use it.
Oprah delivered one heck of a speech
“I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon!” Winfrey declared while accepting the Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award for career achievement on Sunday. (You can read the full transcript of the speech on Vox.) While there has long been mild speculation that she might harbor political aspirations, the nearly 10-minute speech brought those whispers to a roar.
Oprah opened her address describing a scene of herself sitting on the linoleum floor of her mother’s house in Milwaukee as a child in 1964, watching Sidney Poitier become the first black man to win the Oscar for best actor.
“I tried many, many times to explain what a moment like that means to a little girl, a kid watching from the cheap seats as my mom came through the door bone-tired from cleaning other people’s houses,” she said. Poitier in 1982 received the same Cecil B. DeMille Award that Winfrey was given on Sunday.
“It is not lost on me that at this moment, there are some little girls watching as I become the first black woman to be given the same award,” she said.
Oprah, a talk show host, actress, producer, philanthropist, and all-around media heavyweight, spoke of her own career achievements but also placed herself in a historical context of race and class and the current context of gender and women’s rights. She recounted the story of civil rights hero Recy Taylor, who died just days before the awards show, and emphasized the pervasiveness of gender bias in Hollywood and all walks of life.
“When that new day finally dawns, it will be because a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say, ‘Me too,’ again,” she closed.
Soon after her speech, NBC fired off an eyebrow-raising tweet reading, “Nothing but respect for OUR future president.”

I do not think the Left side understands that their parties run is to globalism. What does that mean well there is 3 things that need to be done before that happens.
(1) A global currency -- Already in the works.
(2) A global equality --- Be ready to live at about 25% of what you are now so the rest can also. Except the ones already wealthy, all are not safe either unless graced by the UN
(3) Global religion - Otherwise there will always be fighting, guess what religion?
Remember once globalized its a reset, all laws and rules are decided by census of all the global leader and seeing as how the largest % are socialist sooooo....
The democratic party nor the republican party give you anything, they use the power of the peoples taxes and debt to give you all the nice things, they on their own give you nothing. But leave office millionaires. Why are they the hero's and not the working class that pay for it all.
Be weary of the attack on the family values, look at the birth to death ratio of the EU and you will see why emigrants are so much a part of their agenda. And are willing to make their people pay to put up emigrants that are willing to have 5+ children who has stronger values on at least family.
Most of the EU has a 1.3 birth rate to 2 death rate. At least a 2 to 2.8 is needed to stay afloat. I do not think you want that in the US, if not a return to family values is necessary. If we do not they will bring in people that are, and the ones that are here will pay for it until they decide to stop working and take care of themselves until it crashes.
