Because I live in the north and orchid trees like warm growing conditions and won't tolerate frost, this was a new plant for me.
These were growing in Mexico,, but in the US , they grow in Hawaii, Southern California, Texas, Louisiana, and Florida,
They are native to tropical and subtropical regions, including parts of Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

Orchid trees are not technically orchids. They can live for a long time, typically 50 years or more. They are fast-growing trees that mature around 35 feet tall and can continue to bloom for several decades.

They are also extremely photogenic, hummingbirds love them, they smell really good! and they cast lovely shadows!
