Good day, Dearest Hivers! How are you on this wondrous day? I hope y'all are doing great. Let me gladly share to you my weekend experience with my family and friends! π
CFO DAY
Last Saturday, we had our Christian Family Organization Day, or CFO Day at Yap Saunders Beach. The event had various performances such as singing and dancing. The event also prepared traditional Filipino games such as Patintero (a game that is somewhat related to the play of tags incorporated with different strategic steps), Tumbang Preso (a game where a can should be hit and knocked down using a slipper), and many more. There were also contests in the event such as Cooking Contest, Dessert Making Contest, and Refreshment Making Contest. The winners received prizes prepared by the organizers of the said event.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
The main purpose of the event was to create a much stronger relationship with family and friends. So with that, I, my family, and friends had a picnic whilst watching others play and cook. It was an enjoyable experience although we felt like were almost cooked because of the extreme heat lol π. Nonetheless, we still enjoyed the moment and did our very best to avoid the heat.
PEPSI 7 UP
Each locale is assigned to facilitate one game. Our locale was assigned to facilitate and do the game called PEPSI 7 UP. Pepsi and 7 Up are carbonated drinks names here in the Philippines. According to sources, this game was often played by the children during school breaks. One player should be selected to be the Taya (the "it" of the game). The Taya of the game should face the opposite of the players. When the Taya says "PEPSI!", the players move as near as possible to the Taya, and when the Taya says "7 UP!", the players should stop moving. The players should be able to tap the taya's shoulder and run back to their base in order not to get caught or else, they will be the next taya of the game.
Mechanics of the game were taken from google
Preparations of the game
First Day
For the first day of preparation, we cut out big pictures of Pepsi and 7 Up for our game. We were struggling to cut out the pictures as well as the boxes because they were hard to cut.
Second Day
On the second day, we looked for wood pieces so that we could make the standee for our booth. We were able to find so but we also had difficulties in cutting and hammering them into parts. But either way, we were able to make it.
Last Day
We finished doing the standee and the only thing left was to bring it to the venue so that we could start our game.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
All in all, this was a great experience for me. I was able to unwind and relax especially when school was done. This was a great way to start over and forget the things that stressed me a lot in the past. I'm grateful that this kind of gathering happened and I'm looking forward to more activities like this in the future.
Pictures were taken from a friend at the event.
Thank you for reading my blog, bye-bye! π
