Wow, that's some real history there. We don't quite have any compression of time like that over here in the US. Sure, there are some old settlements and the Native American spots, but 700 years is a good 400 years older than a lot of that I think.

But there are good sides to this, right?! In history lessons, maybe you didn't have to memorise some dates from many, many centuries ago, just a few 😁

Knowing just the "new" facade of this city, especially as it is full of skyscrapers built since the middle of the XX century, I struggle a bit to imagine Benidorm from the 1325 year. 😅😆

It's so beautiful to see murals like this in cities. It's a shame that around here murals aren't considered art but political propaganda; they ruin the walls with their logos and absurd campaigns. It's very beautiful, and the information about the city's history is interesting.

I agree, it is always cool to see a mural painted by some artists, with style and taste. It makes the place more colourful and nice. ;)

Good afternoon @mipiano, I have to say I didn't even come close to guessing the founding year of Denidorm. It wasn't even because of the distraction caused by that wonderful mural you showed us (thank you!).

When I look at the Mediterranean, I see Phoenician traders, Carthage, Rome, and even Greece... the entire Spanish Mediterranean coast is part of that history... so without a clear date in mind, I thought... more than 2000 years.

I'm so glad you can finally enjoy the sea and the sun.

You're lovely photos took me to two years ago when we spent sometime on the island Fuerteventura. Would love to visit but in the winter like you to get away from our cold Northern climate, so think of us freeeezing back here :)

Hehehe, Spain is indeed a nice destination during winter to escape from the cold. However, this winter was a bit colder here too, several storms hit and there were strong winds. Now, finally, I think spring is coming 😇

Honestly? I would have guessed 100 years max! It’s crazy to think that under all that 'BeniYork' concrete and glass, there’s 700 years of history dating back to 1325. That mural is such a beautiful way to teach people about the city's roots while they're on their way to the beach. Great find!

How new this ancient city seems!
When I saw the first image of the sea, I felt a knot in my stomach, like when I'm very emotional. I love photos of roads that seem to spill into the sea! It's a strange feeling to see the beach deserted when the weather is almost summery.
I miss #summer-vibes, I want it to be the most used hashtag this year.
I think I'll write about the sea too, but they'll be memories... I won't tell you what place I'll write about, because I know you know, just like you knew when I was born... What else can I say? That I really liked what I saw and read... as always!

It's true, every corner has its own story, and Benidorm is a beautiful example of how the past and present coexist. Walking barefoot on the sand and enjoying those simple moments reminds us that life is enriched by every experience we have. Let the cold water and laughter at the sight of the shark be just part of the adventure. Let's continue to enjoy every moment, regardless of the season, because it is those moments that truly connect us with the essence of life.
