Hi, great minds.
I’m truly delighted to be a part of this community.
My name is Dada Iyanuoluwa Openheaven, though I’m popularly known as “Heaven.” I’m a 21-year-old from Lagos, Nigeria, born on the 11th of October into a family of six. Originally, I’m from Ekiti State in the western part of Nigeria, popularly known as Yoruba Land.
Interestingly, if I were asked to speak deeply about my indigenous culture, I might struggle a little, as I was born and raised in Lagos and have mostly experienced life in the city.
Currently, I work as a personal aide to my Area Youth Pastor, a role that has helped me grow in responsibility, service, and leadership.
I am currently studying guidance and counseling at one of the prestigious universities in Lagos, Nigeria-Lagos State University of Education, Epe campus, 200lv.
Additionally, I have a strong interest in tech, which led me to develop my skills in coding using HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to create and clone web interfaces, produce basic graphic designs for small businesses, social media posts, and friends. I earned an online certificate in product management and completed a two-week training in project management. Currently, I am learning software testing. Developing these skills, even if some are not yet at an expert level, has given me valuable exposure and shown me that life favors those who believe in self-development to become valuable assets.
My writing style is deeply influenced by my melancholic personality. I have little interest in writing stories, fiction, articles, or essays, but I am very passionate about creating pieces that captivate readers, challenge their perspectives, and encourage them to be objective, logical, rational, and critical in their thinking.
I would love to share one of my favorite pieces, which sets the standard for the type of writing to expect, titled “Decision” by me:
"The life we live
Do we decide our fate?
Are we responsible for the outcome of the lives yet to come?
Every decision we make today has its own consequences.
What differentiates the poor from the rich?
Access?
Legacy?
Knowledge?
Willingness to utilize it?
I am a pilgrim here, passing through,
But while I breathe, I build.
Quietly,
In the shadows when no one sees me,
Yet, the legacy I create will speak.
I choose to live for those yet to come.
I run away from unhelpful sympathy,
From pride, mediocrity, ignorance, and fears.
They may be stumbling blocks, but I’ve got places to go.
I’m not just living for now,
I’m living for tomorrow!”
In conclusion, I believe there is more than meets the eye. There’s more to explore, share, and learn.
I will never forget (@mrenglish), who shared this platform’s knowledge voluntarily with me on the 26th of May, 2026. He explained in detail what I would experience, learn, explore, and gain.
Your kindness will definitely be repaid in full.
Thank you all for having me here dear friends!
Stay tuned! Stay peaceful, and stay blessed!
