"It is not a skyscraper in New York, nor a European town built on an icy peak to attract tourists from around the world. It is the simple Yemeni village of Al-Hutaib, with a population of no more than 400 people, located above the clouds. The village of Al-Hutaib was built on the slope of a very high mountain, to the point where the clouds seem to be cascading from beneath it."

"Although its altitude reaches 3,200 meters above sea level, its climate remains warm and temperate. Al-Hutaib is located east of the Haraz region, within the Manakhah district, and is characterized as a mountainous area consisting of several villages surrounded by high, fortress-like walls."

"The architecture in Al-Hutaib features an ancient style, yet it simultaneously blends historical charm with modern urban development. Al-Hutaib is home to more than five mosques, several hotels, tourist restaurants, and a hospital. The village also boasts gardens and parks, two security gates, various furnished apartment buildings, a private parking lot, and its own dedicated electricity supply."

In 2002, the village was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in the mixed category of 'Cultural' and 'Natural' sites, as a location of exceptional universal value. This includes the rare surrounding cultural landscapes of Mount Haraz, Al-Qadi, Al-Qannas, Manakhah, and others."
