@steemapple | June 21, 2018, 6:01 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

less than 100, I think. there are very few active ones.

@rzs | July 2, 2018, 7:42 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

The Introductory post for musings has 664 Upvotes and 224 Comments, it has been around 2 months since that post on Steemit. Here is the link to it-

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@musing/introducing-musing-io-a-decentralized-question-and-answer-platform-on-steem

People like me have come the site later on. Thus even if we estimate very conservatively more than 10000 people would have read the posts here.

As far as active members are concerned it would be safe to assume 10% of the total traffic i.e. 1000 users.

Do you think women are more forgiving to their cheating partners than men?

@alan369 | May 31, 2018, 11:01 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Yes they are

@cryptojolt | June 1, 2018, 5:11 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

It may not be cheat

@travellife | June 8, 2018, 1:38 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Depends on the relationship. If the partners are higher status the women will be more forgiving. If the partners are equal to or lower status than the women, they will be held accountable.

It's all about perceived market value. Economics 101. ;)

What is the easiest way to make money?

@cryptojolt | May 31, 2018, 4:36 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Investing , money makes money easily

Buying a lottery ticket. Also a high risk proposition.
Returns are proportional to risks.
Or to put it another way Easy come, easy go

@cryptojolt | May 31, 2018, 4:38 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

What is hard fork?

@alan369 | May 31, 2018, 11:01 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

A hard fork is when a single cryptocurrency splits in two. ... Segwit was a soft fork, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, and Segwit2x are all hard forks.

@travellife | June 11, 2018, 7:04 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

A hard fork is a split in technology such that the network is not backward compatible. This means that you cannot use an old wallet software and old address to transact on the newly forked chain.

In contrast, soft forks are backward compatible. So one can still continue to use an old wallet software and coins on an old address to transact on the newly soft forked chain.

If we make replica of steemit will it make profit?

@shuvomahfuz | May 31, 2018, 5:18 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Not sure. If you can make it better, there could be a chance for you. Except that, you are offering same. So, it will be hard for you to catch the market. You have to offer something better than here. You will attract some new users there, though.

@jorgedr0id | May 31, 2018, 1:50 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

The one who hits first hits twice, Steemit is advanced and if somebody wants to try to accomplish something like steemit they have to make a great job

@korpo | June 6, 2018, 7:54 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I think you will always make a profit if you can write every line of code yourself. It will only cost you time, and a bit of hosting but thats about it. What will be costly tho is the amount of time you need to spend building it!

@steemapple | June 10, 2018, 5:27 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Well, there are many examples of copies who do better than the originals.. Google was not the first search engines, Facebook was not the first social media. So, if someone can do better than Steemit, sure it will profit. But I guess steemit has an advantage right now.. So let's hope it continues to be so.

@wf9877 | June 11, 2018, 1:34 a.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

Scalability will be a hard one if you want to make replica of steemit. If you can solve it and make better UX, I am sure you will make profit

@travellife | June 11, 2018, 7:12 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Only if you manage to get it adopted. It is similar to asking if you were to make a replica of bitcoin, will it make you profit?
Only if you manage to get people to get on your platform and use your service. And you wouldn't even need to come close to the the number of users of steemit. If you managed to get even a tenth of the users, you'll have pretty penny indeed.
Maybe the question should be "If I replicate steemit, how will I get the masses to adopt and use my new blogging service?"

@valiozzi | June 22, 2018, 8:22 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

What does unconditional love mean to you?

@baileys | June 1, 2018, 10:47 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Unconditional love = the way how dogs view human.

@travellife | June 8, 2018, 1:31 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Unconditional love does not exist, though that is not necessarily a bad thing. It is all transactional though it is now always obvious how.
Even a dog loves it's owner because the owner takes care and feeds it.

Why is sleep so important?

@strongestpower | May 31, 2018, 5:46 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Like all body parts that become fatigued, they need time to heal. Sleep heals muscles and repairs them , creates new pathways in the brain in order to adapt to everything that is being absorbed. Without rest anything living or non living will get worn out.

Why is money so addictive? The more you have it the more you want it?

@cryptojolt | June 1, 2018, 8:01 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

It measures superiority which every human being urges.

@travellife | June 8, 2018, 1:28 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Because money offers instant gratification. As you spend it, you get a dopomine hit while at the same time using it up. So you will always need more.

Which future is easy to scalp?
This is in relation to future trading.

@travellife | June 8, 2018, 12:50 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

If by easy you mean high returns, Bitcoin seems to be the most obvious. High volatility means super high returns. You're not going to find it with any other financial asset.

You need to define easy though. If you mean signals, I have absolutely no idea.

You should give "The Shape of Water" a try. It's a fantastic story about a woman who falls in love with an otherworldly being.

Review: In THE SHAPE OF WATER, mute Elisa (Sally Hawkins) works nights as a cleaning lady for an aerospace research center in the early 1960s. She and her talkative best friend, Zelda (Octavia Spencer), start cleaning one of the rooms and discover some kind of non-human being (Doug Jones) in a tank full of water. Finding herself drawn to him, Elisa keeps visiting, bringing him hard-boiled eggs and playing music. But since the cruel, vicious Colonel Strickland (Michael Shannon) violently treats the creature as an enemy, Elisa decides to break him out. She enlists the aid of her loyal next-door neighbor, commercial artist Giles (Richard Jenkins), and is unexpectedly helped by scientist Hoffstetler (Michael Stuhlbarg), who doesn't want to see the creature killed and dissected. With the creature living in her bathtub, Elisa realizes that she must free him. But does she have enough time? And what's the secret of their mysterious connection?

At which stage on steemit your upvote will worth $100?

@ummar | June 1, 2018, 1:17 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

I am sure this is 100% hinged on the amount of steem power that you have as well as the value of steem. A 10,000 sp can give as low as $1 and as high as infinity depending on the market value of steem

@stevelivingston | June 2, 2018, 1:46 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

You would need approximately 640,000 SP to have a vote worth $100 at 100% right now.

What technologies are used to develop steemit.com?

@markgritter | June 4, 2018, 4:34 a.m. | Votes: 6 | [ VOTE ]

The source code for both the Steem blockchain and the Steemit.com web site are available on Github. Check out https://github.com/steemit/steem and https://github.com/steemit/condenser

The Steem blockchain is written in C++, and uses Docker as a packaging mechanism and some Boost libraries. Steem uses Graphene as its database layer.

The "Condensor" project builds a web site on top of that storage layer, and is the code that actually presents the web pages you see on steemit.com. The technology used to build this front end includes react.js, a Javascript framework, and Node for server-side Javascript. Again, the packaging and deployment is done as a Docker container.

How to measure a person's IQ?

@holovision | June 4, 2018, 6:08 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Generally I.Q. is measured using standardized tests and ranked as percentiles in reference to the population.

@avciahm | June 4, 2018, 8:59 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

In Turkey, I ask them which presidential candidate they will vote for. If the answer is Recep Tayyip Erdogan, it means their IQ is low.

@travellife | June 8, 2018, 1:13 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

It depends on who and what is the purpose of measuring IQ.

If it's a Western Oriented organization like Mensa, there is a range of standardieze tests usually involving puzzles to test.

For the purposes of clinical psychology, there are specialized IQ tests which require a 1-to-1 session with the qualified clinical psychologist (administrator) and the testee to sit though the test. These test take into account various factors such as the cultural differences which may differ from the creator of the test and the testee,. Also taken into account are the native language of the testee which may be different to that of the language used in the test, and the softer attributes like fluid intelligence etc.

@wf9877 | June 2, 2018, 3:20 a.m. | Votes: 3 | [ VOTE ]

Definitely, at least you can earn some STEEM

@travellife | June 10, 2018, 3:43 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

It depends on what you define by better.
If by better you mean a better earning opportunity, then yes.
If by better you mean by keeping your thoughts online in a more permanent decentralized way, then yes.
If by better you mean easier to use and has greater readership then no; not yet anyway.

@yalzeee | June 2, 2018, 11:54 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

I believe we mostly get this concept wrong
We work to earn wealth. Money is paper while wealth entails actual riches or assets. The reason we work for this is that during our time on earth, your wealth classifies your position in the most neccesariluy hierarchy which is the "wealth hierarchy". The higher your are the more comfortable life is.

Why most of countries banned #cryptocurrency based transactions? Is it safe to invest in #steem ?
India recently ban the cryptocurrency related transactions but the government wants to use the blockchain system in future.

Yes its safe ,my country (India) has also banned crypto's but we can trade peer to peer with the help of nodes and that what the blockchain network used for ,so don't hesitate and invest vigorously.

You can easily transact your token with the help of NRI or relative residing in country where Bitcoin is necessity.

Maybe so. It sure encourage us to ask question and answer others. But, I couldn't help thinking that the owner has a bigger plan. We create contents and maybe later on he will find ways to monetize this site, once there are many contents. And for us the content creators, an upvote here and there is not gonna get us very far. But, for the owner of musing.io, he will find advertisers once there is volumes. We are the fools....

I don't think so. I believe the creator of musing wants to build a good community of intelligent individuals who are able to give advice and take it with a reward for good answers.
It is a social site that provides people incentive to use it while giving and taking useful information.

@markgritter | June 8, 2018, 6:33 a.m. | Votes: 4 | [ VOTE ]

Compared to a site like Quora (where I'm a Top Writer), musing.io has a lot less depth of interesting questions and answers. It's less good at identifying answers that are interesting for me to read.

While I could point to some features of Quora that musing.io lacks (like the ability to use LaTeX in math answers!) I don't think those are serious drawbacks. The biggest obstacle is probably that you have to be on the Steem blockchain already in order to contribute questions or answers--- and the signup period for a free Steemit account is still quite long. It was about four days when I signed up, and there's no way I would wait four days merely to ask or answer a question on musing.io. This will probably continue to be a drag on growth.

A Q&A site needs to find a way to bootstrap an interested and interesting base of users, which is not an easy problem. musing.io offers just very small payments even to very committed users, and poses a severe obstacle to casual users.

@musing | June 8, 2018, 7:18 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Thanks @markgritter - this is helpful feedback.

We plan on addressing everything you mentioned here. I think in the immediate term, the low payments to committed users thing is the most pressing issue. Other apps on Steem like d.tube and dlive.io have large delegations from other users that allow them to reward their users greatly, but we do not unfortunately :/ I am trying hard to fix this. I believe it would solve a few issues, as it would also attract many more users that can further vote on content.

Would love to chat more about things some time! Sending you a Linkedin request if that's cool :)

https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-most-useful-applications-built-on-the-Steem-blockchain-and-why

@strongestpower | June 8, 2018, 2:24 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I think that once musing has established a group or community of users who like the site the growth will come quicker and the few day wait time to open a steem account will not be too much of an obstacle. Once musing has found the correct formula to establish a large enough userbase more people will want to join the community. I am sure all the smaller issues like depth of content and layout and features can be iterated as the community grows.

We as users should help grow the community , I feel like it can be a great and possibly lucrative site.

@bozz | June 8, 2018, 2:43 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Good point. I am happy that they were able to move all of the Musing stuff out of your main feed so that it doesn't look spammy, but I think a side effect is that these posts are now buried from the general public. Take my OP for example. It has gotten some good response, the creators of Musing even responded to one of the responses, but the OP has gotten zero upvotes. In the past I could post much less poignant questions and at least get a couple of upvotes. I think there are definitely still some things to work through...

How to exit a winning trade before it turns around and become a loser?

@wf9877 | June 5, 2018, 2:44 a.m. | Votes: 3 | [ VOTE ]

Set a simple goal, like: whenever I earn 20%, I will exit

@korpo | June 5, 2018, 11:27 a.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

You can set goals for yourself but FOMO (fear of missing out) is always around the corner. Try to investigate what a coin can be worth. Not in terms of value per coin but the marketcap. For example I give you Steem. It contains services like Youtube, Facebook-like, Reddit, Soundcloud and many more. If you add all marketvalues of that companies together you will easily reach 100B plus. Steemit is not even 1B at the moment so it is very lickely that Steem will raise substantially.

If you are a technical trader try using 3 indicators which you master. If 2 out of 3 indicators tell you that the market will reverse, buy-in or exit!

Buy when it is still low in price. Wait for it to go up and is in oversold condition. Also, if it is way above its 200 day moving average, be sure to sell, because the price will tend to revert back. Anyway, its easier said than done. I made a big mistake not selling in Jan 2018/ Dec 2017 because the price came crushing down with no sign of ever coming back up.

Bitcoin will be simply played by bears in market with price range of $7k to 8.5k until bulls doesn't enter in the market.Many analysts stated bitcoin price when it was surging like a rocket but this fuel isn't enough to stop downward inclination and rebounding to the previous level of $20k

@wf9877 | June 6, 2018, 11:25 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

I believe it will in next year

@travellife | June 8, 2018, 1:05 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Based on previous years records and based on network trends, I am guesstimating within 8 months. Here are a few qualitative reasons:

  1. The last major crash was 2014 and took 2+ years to recover. The network of users were much smaller than and they didn't get half as much press as in 2017 & 2018. News travels much faster these days.
    Also there are many more people to enquire information on.
  2. Ease of buying into bitcoin is much easier now than ever.
    Many countries didn't have exchanges back in 2014. Now there are many local and global exchanges and the buy-in requirements / barriers to entry are much lower than ever.
  3. The relative stability. The last time there was a major crash, the value dropped from USD1000+ to a few hundred.
    Now, very few people expect it to go below USD7k if at all. The longer it stays above USD7k the greater the trust people will get in it.
    At one point, the general public will feel more confidence to get in again.
  4. The technological improvements. With the introduction of technologies related to higher security (Segwit) and performance / lower fees (Lightning Network LN) the bitcoin of today is far superior to that of 2014.
    As the adoption of LN grows and improves technologically, it is very likely that merchants will start to get into bitcoin over the counter.
    We are talking about 1 second transaction times with fees close to 0.

A bit of meditation each day can be a replacement for maybe an hour of sleep everyday but prolonged meditation is not a complete replacement.

It is a filler, but there is no replacement.

Sounds strange! We want to find the alternative to sleeping. Suppose scince would find a way to do it but will it be satisfying. The answer is nope.
Today people wander around the world to find a refreshing moments. But nothing better than The natural sleeping. Sleeping after tiredness.
So my dear friend there is no alternative to sleeping. 😊

@korpo | June 8, 2018, 3:23 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

No definitly not! Sleeping is not also for being tired but also for body-recovery, processing emotions by dreams (you dream every night!). I was also looking for an answer but there isn't any.

You can sleep like Einstein tho, but only for 1 week maximum! 4 hours awake, 20 minutes of sleep, 4 hours awake, 20 minutes sleep and so fort!

@coinsandchains | June 10, 2018, 4:57 a.m. | Votes: 4 | [ VOTE ]

I wish, and I'm one of the lucky ones, I average 4 hours a night, and I usually hate that I have to do that.
I have a trick that can get you through several days if you are working on a project etc. Edison?? used it when working on projects. I call it the Rock and Bucket.
Basically, when you have worked all you can and need some sleep, Get a Rock and a Metal Bucket. lie down on a couch with the rock in your hand hanging off the side of the couch over the bucket. When your body relaxes enough that your hand drops the rock, just up and you are usually ready to go for another 8 to 10 hours.

There's actually some science behind it but don't want to do that here. Of course, most people are going to say you need way more sleep than is really necessary.

Just my #twocents take it or leave it.

@travellife | June 10, 2018, 3:52 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

TLDR: Yes, you will be able to..
It is just a matter of good discipline in trading. It will obviously take longer with USD100.
However, undisciplined traders given millions of dollars can quickly lose them too. History is full of examples of them. In short money is no replacement for knowledge.

As the saying goes "A fool and his money are soon parted." hold true.

What happens if you are constantly deprived of sleep?

@strongestpower | June 7, 2018, 12:58 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

You will have a severe lack of alertness, even missing 1.5 to 2 hours of sleep can cause your brain to function much more slowly. Your memory can be impaired because your brain has used up all its energy. You will become stressed out because you are restricting your body from an essential function , similar to when you are hungry. This can lead to mood swings and overall frustration causing problems with not only yourself, but the people around you. Your body will feel weaker, I actually just experienced this the past night i missed about 2-3 hours of sleep and my body did not feel as strong as it usually does and my workouts were lacking. You increase your chances of getting into accidents on the road. Also from personal experience, I have nodded of in many situations on long drives only to realize i was still on the highway but don't know how I got to that specific point.

Although people say to be successful there are gonna be days where you will miss sleep I think the opposite. If you sleep well then you can more efficiently and effectively use the time in your day, your concentration and energy will be up.

What are some major mental health concerns for Programmers/Gamers?

@sakujo | June 6, 2018, 7:53 p.m. | Votes: 5 | [ VOTE ]

Autism/Aspergers and ADHD are common disorders that are commonly associated with high-functioning programmers. It's an odd phenomenon that pervades the Silicon Valley culture and is almost seen as the mark of the most pure type of programmer.

While I definitely wouldn't say either condition are advantages in any practical way, I do think that they are contributing factors to why these people are able to become so adept at writing code. You have to be a little crazy to spend so many hours writing code and still be able to enjoy it. I suppose then that you could say it's an advantage if your goal is to truly specialize in software engineering.

In any case, these are the two most prevalent mental health concerns that I can think of for probably both programmers and gamers.

@korpo | June 7, 2018, 9:55 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I think ADHD is not so suited for programming jobs, I can speak for myself. Ow line of code, airplane, washing machine, Youtube haha. I can say ADHD works very fine in a high-reactive enviroment.

Why has .io become so used ?
Years ago, websites with a .io extension weren't that easily findable. Nowadays, it feels like this extension is very popular and is some sort of standard for the technology industry. Do you have an idea or an explanation as to why it suddenly became so popular ?

Initially, names were easier to find under .io than under .com. I don't know whether this is still the case, and it is by itself not sufficient reason--- there are now tons of TLDs available, but hardly any see any use. But during the boom of the 1990's, tons of .com names were claimed, while .io names started being registered only in 1998, and didn't take off until later. .io names are likely to be cheaper to acquire, particularly for common words.

For example, "context.com" initially was registered in 1993, but context.io was still available for somebody to register in 2011.

Second, .io is like .ly or .st lending itself to "puns" like techfol.io or card.io or easily-pronouceable or short names like context.io. I/O is also an existing computer term, so is recognizably "tech-y".

Finally, company names have fads just like everything else. Particular letters or patterns become popular because people want to sound "modern" or "cool", or they avoid naming patterns that sound dated. "dot-com" sounds a little bit like the 90's.

But, ".com" is still overwhelmingly popular. FundersClub found that 87% of startups that raised Series A founding in 2017 used a .com name. But Y Combinator startups in the last class were down to 68% "dot-com"s. Source: https://www.forbes.com/sites/christophersteiner/2017/05/03/most-startups-still-believe-they-need-a-dot-com-domain-but-that-is-changing/ (A note at the end suggests that startups which successfully raise money may use some of it to buy the .com version of their name!)

[IMAGE: https://i.imgur.com/tLJO5pQ.png]
I was pondering the joys of gardening because today is National Gardening Exercise Day. Most people don't consider gardening to be a form of exercise, but it is a form of functional exercise. You are stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, as you tend to your garden. Gardening is a physical activity that has you moving out in the fresh air.

I wrote a poem entitled GARDEN WORKOUT in honor of National Gardening Day.

There are many religions in this world. All of them have their own beliefs. All of them have variation. But there is only one thing that is similer in all religions and that is #NATURE. I think if you really take care of nature then you do not need to worship anybody else.
When I am in my garden, I found myself very close to nature. Thats why I really enjoy the gardening.
I would suggest to all of you to enjoy the gardening and feel the beauty of #nature.

Gardening is great. Starting something from a miniscule seed and watching it grow and produce flowers, vegetables or fruits is rewarding as it is challenging. I used to help my mom as a kid grow veggies in the backyard and for some reason I really just liked it. The smell of fresh soil and scent that the leaves give of connects the earth to the soul.

I have just started gardening once again and it is nice to be within nature and plants. An early sunday morning with the sun rising chilling with a good book watching your effort grow is a magnificent thing.

How to earn steem in countries where crypto is banned?

@travellife | June 8, 2018, 10:49 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

You do not need to start buying crypto to earn in Steem. However, you will need to open a Steem account. You will earn as you post. And when you have made enough Steem dollars, you will have to move it to a foreign exchange to change it to fiat money. Alternatively, search for websites that allow you to make purchases using steem (not as many as say bitcoin). Then again that's where the exchanges come in handy.

@korpo | June 8, 2018, 3:31 p.m. | Votes: 3 | [ VOTE ]

No I think not, I think it will stay around this value or slightly increase over time. Market was full of BS last past years. Also, more cryptos are coming into place with a better usablity then Bitcoin itself.

BS? but I think thats the reason why I think it could be bearish this year... Like in 2014

It could be. I try to think of the markets. My answer is not what im hoping for. I hope bitcoin will be the gold of the crypto markets. Usdt as fiat currency and the rest as stocks. I personally find most cryptos more like a stock than a currency.

@chrisrice | June 9, 2018, 12:23 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

If we lived forever I would say Yes. But since we don't and our time is limited, I will say No. But as technology develops and lifespans increase, more will become possible, and there will be fewer ideas that are impossible to achieve within a person's lifetime.

Problem with us as humans is that if we achieve something, we want the next thing to happen. This can be due to greed or maybe because of constantly wanting to improve ourselves. I think that that is fine!

Because people are flawed. We get pleasure and self-worth from getting stuff. What kills me is how much people spend on useless stuff, or they are spending money in ways that don't make sense. In the US, it is not uncommon to find a person living in an old single wide trailer, with a 30 or 40 thousand dollar car parked outside. It drives me nuts knowing their car is worth more than their house, what's worse they are probably renting the house.

@coinsandchains | June 10, 2018, 4:17 a.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

That's a rather broad question, with a lot of possible answers. I would say just pick one and go for it. Depending on the idea, if one of the ideas will propel you towards many of the things you want to do, then implement it and use it to knock some things off the bucket list.

Just my #twocents take it or leave it.

I think this is where a personal Mission Statement comes in. It can be used as a guide to help you make the best choice and it's created by you.

Mission Statement: (sample)
- To live a long & healthy life with my wife, son and loved ones, and to help others do the same.

I created that Mission Statement after 33 years of living life as me and think it pretty much says what I need to focus on.

You can create a Mission Statement too. Just take some time to discover what you value most in life and make it happen!

Evaluate your current situation. Plan out the best options that align with your life goals and future and pursue the one you know or is most likely to get you there. The risk also depends on the people around you and what you are responsible for. You have to factor everything, sit down and write your plan down then re evaluate it until you come to a general baseline. Iterations will come after.

@strongestpower | June 10, 2018, 10:03 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Either create something that others are passionate about such as many large brands (Disney, Nike etc..) or have a child. Also by inventing something new or innovating on something old but putting a new twist on it it may carry on even after you are gone. If you capture the hearts of the people with your goals and ambition it is easy to keep your legacy living. The only problem is later on it may not be what you imagined it to be, it could be better or or it could be worse depending on what the next person wants their legacy to be.

If you can find any way to improve open blockchains do it.
It will be there much longer than your life span and your childrens

Why are human so addicted, the more we get or consume, the more we want?

@chrisrice | June 9, 2018, 6:51 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

It starts when you want to consume something, say a hamburger or nice pair of shoes. Once you buy that meal or pair of Nike's you get rewarded with satisfaction. That sends a message to your brain that it's good to consume things and becomes stronger the more you consume.

It's a learned behavior and is done through a process known as "Positive Reinforcement".

What do you do when you lose your direction in life?
We have lots of choice in life with current digital world. After years of trying what you think is good, ended up with some experiences nothing more. You look at your empty pockets and think about what you should do next? You hope to contribute to the community, but hey... your empty pockets stop from doing so.
"Be realistic, fill up your pocket first then think about your dream" This is what I get...

@chrisrice | June 9, 2018, 12:17 p.m. | Votes: 3 | [ VOTE ]

You can start by sitting in a place where you feel safe, quiet and comfortable. The next step is to think about what you value most.

  • What do you care about?
  • What is most important to you?
  • What do you want in life?
  • What do you want to be remembered for once you are gone?

After discovering what is most important to you it will then possible to make a Mission Statement. Good health and a long life with my wife, son and loved ones is most important to me, and I want to help others do the same. So I wrote a Mission Statement for it and recite it regularly to stay on track.

Mission Statement (sample):

  • To Live a long & healthy life with my wife, son and loved ones, and to help others do the same.

Is it tough to make money with steemit?

@chrisrice | June 9, 2018, 5:50 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

Steemit pays members based on comments, upvotes and content.

  • Facebook and Quora on the other-hand don't pay members at all.
  • YouTube pays members but there are a lot of requirements before you can become a YouTube partner (certain amount of subscribers, views, etc.).

So if it's hard to make money on Steemit it's even harder or impossible on other social networks. I have 14,900 views on Quora but haven't made a cent. But I posted a few short answers on Musing (Steem-powered) and made $0.04 in less than 24 hours.

What do we hope to gain? New and rare situations, landscapes, cultures, languages to reshape the statue of our mind into something more elaborate. We may hope to be inspired from what we see, whether it be a poor farmer living a happy simple life or dining at a once in a lifetime $2000 dollar dinner.
We hope to gain experience and knowledge in order to later process it and shape a life out of it.

  3. Just ignore them
  4. be sarcastic yourself.

Why do we react to what others say about us?

@strongestpower | June 11, 2018, 11:48 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Because you have built a certain persona around yourself that you may or may not like. And would rather see it improved upon or remain untarnished. Some people do not care what others think and go on living life as they please , this may be inspirational to others but can also come off as unrefined or brutish to another group of people.
Sometimes it is good to react because you are able to present yourself in the correct light or how you want to be perceived rather than how someone else's perception about you is. In the case of wrongfully accused, their entire lives are turned on their heads and ruined along with their reputation for something they may have not even done. They could be a great person but looked upon differently because of where they were at a certain time or how they dress.
It is hard to just say it doesn't matter what people think because sometimes when you need to reach certain goals you may need to impress the right people .

@strongestpower | June 15, 2018, 2:37 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

I think there is no general meaning of life. You can create your own meaning really. There does not need to be any type of written end goal for human beings. Think about what you live for everyday or what you want out of your life, and there you have it. That is your meaning of life.

Some people strive to be great philosophers and gain worldly knowledge to pass on and create a legacy while others live for the weekend parties at some club.

Your personal quest could be to find the meaning of life which could very well be the meaning to your life if you let it.

I think it's mostly due with people who really don't understand cryptocurrency. i think they treat it like a casino rather than a steady long term investment. if you want short term investments that you don't really believe in and just want to speculate on. Try traditional investing or gambling. its much more safe. If people believe in the direction and purpose of crypto, they would not panic at every market move.

There any many factors leading to a current downturn,

  • Gaining price to fast in a short period of time, all markets need corrections to sustain growth and reduce volatility.

  • Launch of futures markets added a lot of liquidity from alternative markets with great liquidity and a bias to bitcoin leading to a mentality favoring short positions.

  • The hype last year which caused tens of thousands of inexperienced Investors to rush in trying to profit in the short term, selling higher than they bought.

  • inexperienced investors investing in altcoins losing 90% of investments and blaming bitcoin and selling all.

  • Printing of 100's of millions of Tether artificially accelerated rise.

  • Cost to use bitcoin network increased drastically on bitcoin cash lunch due to the network being spammed with dust transactions from thousands of bitcoin cash address and lacking the means to mitigate until segwit was adopted which rejects spam and increased efficiency dramatically reducing costs to under a $1.

If Mars was colonized, how long before the human race starts an interplanetary war?

@korpo | June 11, 2018, 3:09 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

A rocket from or to mars is traveling for 9 months so plenty of time to shoot it out of the sky. But I think we will never colonize mars if we don't fix the anti-gravity over there. Last time I heard that ISS visitors decrease around 1% bone density per few days so to live there will be devestating for humans. We need a hybrid race or a big evolution first. Hopefully our war-thoughts evovle out of our systems with us

@coinsandchains | June 11, 2018, 5:23 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

We should probably ask Elon Musk, or Richard Branson. They are probably the ones pushing that envelope the hardest. The real question is when we get there who is going to own it..... That will determine how long it takes to start the war.....

The Answer to your question lies in History..America was discovered in 1492 from their on it functioned as a British Colony. It declared its Independence in 1776..That is in less than 300 Years. So in my opinion, if we do ever manage to colonise Mars and it becomes fully independent it will declare its independence in less than 100 Years..

@strongestpower | June 13, 2018, 5:24 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Underdog's are usually more relatable to people than the untouchable champ who already has his followers and reputation. The champ is always this golden shining presence while the underdog has something to prove.

It can be a few things. People think the underdog made it up to this point because they worked harder than anyone else and struggled doing it so they deserve their spot at the top.

People may be jealous or tired of the current top position holder and want to see him dethroned. They want to see change or see something exciting.

It invokes a sense of satisfaction and a spike of emotion when the underdog finally gets his day.

As a new Steemit user, should I be avoiding powering up?
I have received delegated Steem Power, as a new Steemit user. When I use some of the Steem I earned to power up, the delegation goes down so I still sit at 15 SP--- no net increase.

Is there a better way to reinvest my Steem, until the delegation goes away in a few weeks?

@korpo | June 13, 2018, 9:11 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

You get more "power" on the platform with more SP. More bandwith, more voting power. Voting power can be used to build your community buy passing out votes. It is a complex system but you get a annual rate on SP.

@jennifer78 | June 13, 2018, 2:49 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

My suggestion is to power up your steem as you get it. This increases your voting power. I help teach a class on discord in steemschools that teaches the basics of steemit and would like for you to attend a session. The are held every day and are free classes. https://discord.gg/TaZFW5r

But the problem is, right now it doesn't increase my voting power, because the new-user delegation is decreased by exactly as much as my power-up. So instead of being at 15.1 SP I'm still at 15 SP.

Steem invests in a new user. As the new user earns steem or steem power, the delegation is slowly withdrawn. from my experience, it is better to lease some steem power and upvote your posts and comments till you make a decent amount and have your own steem power. It took me months to understand that without being able to vote at least 0.01 cents, you make nothing out of it. Commenting is another way to make some sp. Write meaningful comments and others will vote you and the interaction also helps a lot. All the best

@awesomianist | June 15, 2018, 1:47 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

I'd suggest you power up as fast as possible. Better if from your post reward. The benefit of staked steem power outweighs what little liquid Steem you choose to withdraw.

How do we recognise our gut feelings and how to take advantage of it?

@strongestpower | June 13, 2018, 5:17 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I guess when you feel something in your gut , you can take advantage with it because it is something at your core communicating with you. Like if you feel like you should take the job opportunity you may be more inclined to do better there because it aligns with something within your soul and just feels right. Even though it may not be the most rational decision at the moment you can make it work to your advantage and just go for it.

On the other hand going by your gut when there is nothing to back it up , say ,when you really think someone stole something but aren't really sure might not be the best idea. I have one accused someone of stealing something from me at a party just because I had a gut feeling he did but when I went back home and looked it had just fallen from the top shelf and was on the floor under some clothes.

@rzs | June 15, 2018, 8:48 a.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

Email took 1996 - 2004 to become mainstream in all countries.. Keeping in mind that for Email to become mainstream it first had to penetrate internet connectivity, which is not the issue now. So we can probably half the email mainstream adaptation time. I would say in around 5 years decentralisation could become the mainstream of internet.

I love hot salsa, and I regularly eat a Habanero-flavored salsa, from Mrs. Renfro's. But the same brand offers a salsa with Ghost Pepper, which I had the opportunity to try.

Just a small bite was enough to make my mouth burn and my sinuses run. I knew it was going to be hot, but I was surprised at the intensity in a mass market salsa. As soon as I tried it, I knew I had found my upper limit-- I was never going to make the transition to Ghost Pepper, and I didn't try a second bite.

@chrisrice | June 17, 2018, 1:06 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

I was separated from my biological mother when I was 2 years old, and then placed in foster care. A few years later I was adopted by the same family that took me in.

I felt a gap of some sort growing up since I knew I was adopted and later moved to the Phillippines when I was 24 years old. After that, I got married on my 25th birthday (in the Philippines) and became a part of my wife's family.

I never met my biological father, I don't have very many memories of my biological mother, and I didn't feel that connected with my adopted parents growing up, so my wife's parents played a great role in being my first "real parents" (or so it seemed at the time).

I used the love I have for my wife to love them too, and after loving everyone in their family, I realized how much my adopted parents love and loved me. They were my first real parents!

Now I love my adopted parents and my in-laws, including both mothers as if they were my own, real and biological parents.

P.S. I was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area of the United States.

Will our children ever love us like we love them?

@inuke | Aug. 3, 2018, 4:30 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

No, The answer to this question is never.
No two person in this world can love each other equally. The reason is simple you cannot measure love. Love is an emotion which is driven by personal experience and experience will differ from person to person. What you might have experienced from your kid is not necessarily having the same effect on the kid. Suppose you have taken your kid to a garden where you both of you had a healthy and hearty conversation and both of you will change after this incident. Because this experience will change the dynamics between you too and thus changing the emotions and finally comes the "Love". This goes for all the relationship.

Now some may say that the parental love is not that kinda love. and is unconditional. To which I disagree because unconditional love does not exist. Do get me wrong, I am a true believer in Love but the term unconditional does not fit anywhere. In fact, all the other adjective used in along with the love does not apply, True love, Pure love etc.. Love is love and it is either there or not. Coming back to the unconditional love. There are conditions which are overlooked, that' s all.

Regards
@inuke.

You clearly haven’t been in the crypto scene at all if you think that it is time to throw the towel and give up due rock the value. Just because crypto was over hyped and ran up in numbers and is now being corrected doesn’t mean crypto is dead. Thats like literally saying that if the stock market hit recession we sGould firstly get out of the stock market, and second never ever touch the market again. Anything that goes up in life has to go down, and if you look at a year to date chart you can actually see that crypto is still near the same that it was last year at this time.

It is difficult to keep the faith with all of the controversies surrounding cryptocurrencies and the consistent price declines that we've since about January with some small rebounds that lasted an extremely short time. My advice would be to pick a few that you understand well and believe in, if you then decide you want to stay in, you should understand that it's a long term investment and all investments have ups and downs. Nothing in this world consistently increases in value without ever going down as well. It's the nature of any free trade market. When markets are low, people tend to buy and hold, when markets are high the experienced investors will look to sell while the less experienced investors will think they're missing out on something extraordinary in generally buy in at the higher levels only to see the prices drop as the more experienced investors start to sell and realize their gains. Hang in there, stick with it through the down times, and at some point if you remain liquid you might just find yourself in a better position. I've also noticed slightly that since the inception of cryptocurrenciess it does seem that it runs about a 3 year cycle where there's some significant down times but then after a few year period there tends to be a significant jump in comparison to the usual carry values.

 Given up on cryptos? OFCOURSE NOT!

Be patient and HODL as much as you can. Don’t sell BTC or other crpytocurrencies at these low prices. It is only a loss when you sell and realize the net losses. What is certain is that in the long run, the prices will bounce back and shoot up. Probably in a series of quick and sprint bull-runs. The concept of "bull" and "bear" market is not applicable here in the traditional sense.

Find something else to do instead of refreshing the CoinMarketCap.com website for the cryptocurrency prices every 5 minutes.

Will Musing will ever be like quora?

@alexdory-rambles | June 20, 2018, 1:41 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

It doesn't have to, it can be much more. Quora is just an intelligent platform gathering intelligent people to answer questions. Musing could be much more, but it does need to bring together dedicated people who enjoy a sense of educated and elevated community.

Trolls are the number one enemy of such a platform, since the number of people who answer questions will avoid stepping into an offensive area.

There are people and people and today, I am writing here. A little less than an hour ago I answered on Quora :D

So while it might be or might not, the steps are in place and content creators are in both places.

@strongestpower | June 21, 2018, 1:54 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

If Musing can get a group of good users to provide content and answer questions I think it can be just as good or even better than Quora since there is a possibility for a huge incentive. People will provide quality answers because those are the ones most likely to be upvoted rather than trolling (of course these may be upvoted too if they are funny enough). If we can build a community that wants to help this budding site grow it can be immense.
I see at this point there may be a few barriers to entry as people do have to wait for a steem account after signing up and people are not as familiar with this concept. But once it is out there and people figure out what this platform can do, it really is a great idea.

Why is education necessary?

@alexdory-rambles | June 20, 2018, 1:36 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Education is the basic training in life, it teaches you how the world works.
Starting with how to behave yourself, how to be sure that your life impacts others positively and basically how to not make mistakes that will cost you money, time, time and money or even your life.

Education teaches us how to be tolerant of the people beside us and how to understand freedom and society.

Education is the most important thing we should strive to have. An educated person is what changes the world around him and brings value to the community.

Education is thus, not something that everyone gets, school contributes to the education but it is not the education.

Educated people get to be old wise people instead of grumpy old people.

@strongestpower | June 21, 2018, 2:11 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

I think education is necessary but public education needs some reform. Subjects in school should reflect more of what is truly needed in the real world. Money management should be a class in High school. Education is needed in order know life basics and to be able to function in society. On the other hand I feel like many of the classes provided in order to graduate or earn a degree are useless. Nevertheless education in all forms is necessary to know how the world works and how it doesn't this is the way to invention, innovation and overall progress of life.

THE NEED FOR EDUCATION FOR HUMANS

Humans are monodualist creatures which means that they consist of two elements which constitute a whole

yaiu not "soul" and "body".

William Strem confirmed that the soul and

body cannot escape but can be distinguished asasy "

multiplex unit ".

Unitas human meaning consists of two elements of body and soul. So compilation of one or both of them does not exist or at all, so it cannot be called a human. Multiplexing is good from a single body and soul from an unsure ban. Raga has a lot of uncertainty like that head, turban, persimmon, muscle, skin and so on that form one unit so that it can be said as a body. It was up with a soul that was not sure

 -

Elements that are interrelated The level of unity can be called a soul. The soul elements are called mental symptoms. The soul tube consists of four; symptoms of creativity, symptoms, taste symptoms, mixed symptoms. Of all the elements, there is no body and soul that has different functions but cannot be given to each other. In the development of a person from baby to adult there are two important aspects which are physical and spiritual. In its development, it is influenced by two factors: maturity and learning. Humans as worldly beings and creative beings when viewed from publishing. When viewed from its nature, the nature of human beings is social beings and individual beings. In order to achieve uncertain balance & harmony, education is needed. Education is needed to be able to change, determine and construct human life. Education is needed to humanize young people to become adults. Educating is activities that contain communication between two or more people, enough education is descriptive and normative. Descriptive explains how the educational retracement process in achieving separate. While normative education is expressed in the objectives to be achieved in the education process. If education as a process can be seen from two categories, namely individual processes and social processes.

Here are some reasons for the importance of education in our lives:
1. Form a good personality
Although it does not guarantee, if someone lives up to the educational values that he has gained and practices them in life, his personality will form better. Educated people are more polite, ethical, confident, optimistic, positive thinking and so on.
2. Increasing dignity and dignity
It's no stranger if people judge someone based on certain sizes and standards. One of them is through education. Educated people are considered to have charisma and a higher position and vice versa. The treatment of people who do not get education with those who have education is also different.
3. Removing from ignorance
The main function of education that we often hear is to form intelligent people. Through education, a person who initially knows nothing becomes aware of many things, which initially did not understand to be understood. In other words, education has indirectly excluded someone from ignorance. No wonder the science is likened to the light that illuminates the pitch black night.
4. Avoid fraud and exploitation
Criminals mostly make foolish and less educated people their target. Why is that? Because according to them, people who are poor in education will be more easily possessed and exploited. They will surrender without resistance and they are easily conquered. Education allows one to think better, logic or reasoning is more honed and knows more personality. With this thing they can be avoided from the bad intentions of others.
5. Provisions to educate more brilliant generations
Every person will later become a parent to their children. When someone has no knowledge, how can they maintain, care for and guide their generation better. Education is important as a capital to become a responsible parent in the future.
6. Capital to compete in work
One of the things that is not less important than education is as capital to compete in work and work. Most people, whether consciously or not, have made education the goal of getting a job. Although education does not guarantee a person will get a better job, but the influence of education on opportunities and opportunities to work also cannot be denied.
Getting education does not have to be in a formal institution. So, do not despair if you lack costs or body conditions that do not allow. Learning can be done anywhere and anytime. Demanding knowledge also does not stop after we finish school or college because studying is a long process that must be done while we are still alive.

@golddeejay | Aug. 27, 2018, 11:52 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

By education, do you mean formal education? That is necessary to be competitive, fit into the society and a lot see it as the way of building a career.
But most importantly, formal education makes self education which I think is more important easier to achieve, like a stepping stone. Many people, in fact the most successful people don't really build a career or business on what they learnt in school. But formal education is sure a good foundation and a key to elightment.
So I say education, formal education if that is what your question is about, is key in building a person (character, mind etc), business and society.

Why are the education system so rigid?

@nurjangka | Aug. 27, 2018, 1:07 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Because authoritarian leadership is entered into personal or group interests that require the use of a centralized principle to be easily driven from one hand.

In accordance with the principle of centralism, the implementation of national education tends to comply with guidelines from above or indoctrination. Educational organizations are arranged in such a way that there is no place for a dynamic organization because everything is determined from above by impersonating the unity of perception and direction, unity of container, unity of determination, and so on.

A system trapped in authoritarian power will certainly be rigid in its nature, characteristics of centralism, strict bureaucracy, control of the system by one party, the very dominant role of government and neglect of community participation in decision making which all have colored the national education system.

National education should be reformed in order to create a united and democratic Indonesian society or a empowered society. In a democratic society, every member of society has the power to be independent, not depressed by absolute power. Communities that are empowered are none other than a civil society or civil society.

Causes The quality of education quality is the problem of effectiveness, efficiency and standardization of teaching. This is still a problem of education in general. In addition to the lack of creativity of educators in guiding students, a centralized curriculum makes education portraits increasingly opaque.
Curriculum Only based on government knowledge without regard to community needs. Education is not able to produce creative graduates. The curriculum is made not to pay attention to conditions in the lower community or in the area to remote areas there. So that graduates are only smart at finding work and cannot create their own jobs. Even though employment is limited. The fundamental problem of education is imbalance between learning that is thinking (cognitive) and learning behavior that feels (affective). Learning is not just thinking but doing various activities such as observing, compare, doubt, like, passion and so on.
There are at least some problems that can be identified in our education world, namely: low quality of physical facilities, low quality of teachers, low welfare of teachers, low student achievement, low opportunities for educational equity, low relevance of education to needs, and high costs of education.
There are some external impacts that can affect education, namely political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental.

I use a combination of strategies:
* Daily use of Claritin and a nasal spray for general symptom reduction
* Covers for my pillows and mattress to combat dust mites
* Allergy shots for several years to try to acclimate my immune system
* Avoid cats; I can visit them but not for long, and I don't sleep in a house that has them.
* Avoid pollens: we use the air conditioning year-round, though I still go outside to walk the dog or garden.
* Long-term asthma control med, and rescue inhaler, to avoid or treat allergy-triggered asthma attacks

Are you afraid to die? Why?

@emergehealthier | June 20, 2018, 1:27 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

No, Death is a part of the life cycle. I believe in God (Creator, Source, ect.). I see God as all loving and kind.. So in my mind there can be no heaven or hell, just another dimension that is neither good or bad, just pure love.. So there is no reason for me to fear death.

@viog37 | June 20, 2018, 8:44 a.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

It depends, how the death occurs, in my case. If for example i were to die right now all of a sudden, i don't think i'd feel the fear of it. But if i'm aware a danger is about to happen and that might lead to my death, or if i were to jump from a bridge and that might kill me, then yeah i would be afraid of it . I'm not sure exactly whether i'd be afraid of the death in those circumstances or afraid of the pain it would instill, or simply afraid that something negative is going to happen. Nevertheless, as death is part of life, it should not be a reason of fear, but rather a reason to celebrate life as it is, in its parameters. That's my answer about fear of death .

"To die will be an awfully big adventure."

—Peter Pan

Death is inescapable†. We all will die eventually. Maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe in 30 years. But eventually the Grim Reaper gets us all.

So in my view, why be afraid? Fearing things that can be avoided may have some use or using fear to be extra careful is very useful. I fear war. I can avoid war (somewhat) and I will avoid war as much as I can. I fear hurting myself when splitting wood with my axe. Therefore, I am always extra careful when using it.

These things can be useful. But fearing death? We can't avoid it. Being afraid of it only adds stress to our lives, stress that adds wrinkles to our brow, stress that ages us and may, ironically, lead to an earlier death.

Better to look at death as an adventure. One that we hope we won't embark on for many years, perhaps, but an adventure nevertheless. Maybe there is another life waiting, maybe there is nothing, maybe there is something completely different. How exciting!

But in the meantime, rather than worrying about death, which is just as silly as worrying about rain, better to enjoy every moment as if it were your last. Go outside and dance!

@zayedsakib | July 19, 2018, 5:21 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Who wouldn't. Infact i would like to live as long as eternity. But it seems our previous wisdom, history and experience proves that to be impossible.

There might come a time with sufficiently advanced medical technology which would allow people to be young and live for centuries. that would be quite similar to living forever. If your thinking I'm trying to stir up a hoax then do some short research.. It will show you that you in the last couple of centuries people's life span has increased abnormally. Our current medical sector of study is moderately advanced and its span of knowledge multiply into 200% every 8 years. That is also true for every other setcors of scientific study.

So if you ask would I like to live forever?
-yes
Is it possible to live forever?
- ill never know until I die.

@clauxklein | July 20, 2018, 12:21 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

With how much technology is evolving everyday I would love to. Mankind have advanced greatly in just a span of 25 years. If you compare how people live years ago and from today you'll see a lot of difference.

Given how easy it is to access any information you want via the web now, I will not be surprised if in another 25years we will have flying cars or some other cool stuffs. Now just imagine what will it be in a 100years? Or in 200years?

So yes I would like to have an option to live forever provided that I am as healthy and good looking as I am today lol

@pavillion | July 20, 2018, 12:46 a.m. | Votes: 3 | [ VOTE ]

In no way, shape or form. For what reason okay? For what reason would anybody need to live for eternity? For what reason OK?

Assume you realize that you have limitless years to live. At that point what might be your inclination to get up early in the day? Like genuinely, for what reason would you get up?

There won't be any 'Time weight' on you-To accomplish, to achieve, to love. For what reason would you do your tasks? There's dependably tomorrow. You can simply stall nearly everything and in the long run wind up never doing it.

When you offer blossoms to your friends and family, do you give the ones made out of plastic, so they will live for eternity? No! You give them genuine blossoms. There's a stem, there are petels. Also, the blossom will bite the dust. That very certainty the blossom will bite the dust, makes you to welcome that bloom.

So the limit of life compels us, or allows simply say me to value each dawn that I wake up ordinary; And on the off chance that I will live everlastingly I don't know whether I will have that feelings, those sentiments, or the feeling that Day anticipates my vitality.

Likewise there's a functional issue as well. In the event that we as a whole begin perpetually, there will be interminable number of individuals and constrained assets. The asset that every individual will get the chance to devour would be limited, and later drained. So we as a whole would in the long run starve to 'death', yet demise keeps an eye on infinity.That implies we would starve unendingly. I don't think I need that.

@culgin | July 20, 2018, 5:34 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Haha.. interesting question. I will like to live forever only if the following conditions are met:
- The people who matter to me can also live forever
- I can remain healthy and fit forever as well

To me, it will be more of a curse than a blessing if I can live forever but have to see all the people who matter to me die one after another. There will be no meaning in life if I have no family or friends.

Next, the state of my health is also important. Am I living forever in a bed-ridden state? Or am I fit and healthy? I will only want to be fit and healthy, otherwise there isn't much point in living forever.

@ijeshagirl | July 20, 2018, 9:58 a.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

I don't figure I would need to live perpetually, yet I'd jump at the chance to carry on a long, long time, maybe 500 years? A thousand years?

Some portion of the reason is that I can perceive how some of what I accept and think have changed throughout the years, which consoles me since it persuades me that I have the ability to develop. I like my multi year old self fine and dandy, yet I believe I'm a superior individual at this point. What might I come to comprehend and think about myself, the world, and others quite a while from now? The 10 or 20 years I most likely have left (damn, that appears to be chilly to simply say it so anyone can hear that way) isn't about sufficiently long to discover.

The other reason is that there has been so cursed much innovative and social change over the most recent few centuries, even in my life time, I need to perceive what ELSE happens. For example, simply return and watch a film made in the forties or fifties, or read a unique James Bond novel, and reveal to me that the parts of ladies, or Jews, or African Americans, or kids weren't diverse at that point. Keep in mind seeing that espresso promotion on the Web from the sixties where the lady was getting a beating from her significant other for picking the wrong espresso ... That wasn't long back by any stretch of the imagination, in any event to me.

It wasn't long back, either, that you could just call somebody from your home or a compensation telephone, and bad news in the event that you came up short on gas on a betrayed roadway. Presently we acknowledge consistent overall shoddy correspondence without a hesitation. What's more, it is anything but a telephone we tote around - it's a doomed supercomputer. What's more, this was just in about the most recent 35 years or somewhere in the vicinity. What's straightaway? Quantum PCs?

Same sex marriage? I would never have envisioned this in a hundred years - common associations, beyond any doubt, yet wed? I concur with it 100 percent, however old, grumpy me (59 years of age) still thinks that its shaking to hear a man say "my better half" or a lady to state "my significant other," and I presumably will until the point that the day I pass on.

What's more, I sort of lament when I know the main Mars mission will likely be not long after my passing, and I need to know whether, no, WHEN we find outsider life, and perhaps, presumably, outsider insight. What a kick in the butt that is destined to be.

I figure I simply would prefer not to pass up a major opportunity.

In my opinion, this is a moot question as we already do :)

I am 'formless spirit' having a 'human experience'. This human experience is the dream I awake from after 'death'. Life is also on the other side of 'death' and life neither starts at birth, nor ceases at death - these are merely changes of 'state'.

'Time' in which there is a 'forever', is also a human-concept, and without a natural correspondence (there are cycles, but no clocks, in Nature). Clock-time belongs to the world of form - the dream. There is only the present moment, NOW, which is forever (lol) outside of clock-time, and as such 'eternal'.

Life and 'real' (not dream) living take place in the NOW (not yesterday, not tomorrow, not a minute away). It is the only place we are ever present in. Death is an illusion.

We 'already' live forever!

@chrislyr | June 20, 2018, 10:23 a.m. | Votes: 3 | [ VOTE ]

I doubt it. They are merely products of peoples imagination and ignorance. Though there are medical conditions that shows similar traits to them. Congenital Hypertrichosis, also sometimes known as “werewolf syndrome” is a rare genetic disease which causes the growth of excessive body and facial hair. Porphyria, also sometimes referred to as “Vampire Disease” refers to a group of disorders that result from a natural buildup of chemicals that produce porphyrin, a compound essential for the function of hemoglobin in your blood

Which one do you prefer, cat or dog?

cats, they are better suited for my persona

Dogs, the are more sociable.

@simply-me | June 22, 2018, 3:19 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

I prefer dogs coz dogs are loving and they remember their master and love their master. They show a lot of affection unlike cats. Cats are selfish, think only of themselves and care only for themselves whereas dogs are selfless.

Dogs, much more fun to have around. Are smart and kind to whoever they trust. Want to be the best companion to their owner. Cats not so much.

Why does Steemit still show posts from people I unfollowed in my feed?
Sometimes I follow people I think I like on Steemit but later find that their posts are flooding my feed or not to my liking. But for some reason their posts are still showing in my feed.

How do I fix this?

@chrislyr | June 20, 2018, 10:16 a.m. | Votes: 5 | [ VOTE ]

Most likely a glitch or a node delay. Also make sure that you really unfollowed those people, then wait for several days for the node to update. Also, not sure if clearing your browser's cache would help but no harm in trying.

@chrisrice | June 20, 2018, 1:25 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Thank you. I think you are right. The unfollow feature works but it only stops FUTURE posts from appearing in your feed. The posts that were aleady updated to your feed remain. Makes sense 😊

Do you think someone can live without food or water for more than a month?
I have heard about lots of Yogis and Rishis who lived in Ancient India without food and water for several months and even several years. We have even seen a few cases in the recent times as well. Prahlad Jani is a living example for this. He stopped eating and drinking at the age of 8. I personally feel it is possible. What do you think. Please share your views.

@chrislyr | June 20, 2018, 10:09 a.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

No they cannot. Its possible two live for a week or two without food but one can only survive for a maximum of one week without water.

No. No way unless it is a miracle or they have attained enlightenment. LOL

How do introverts enjoy themselves?

@doelist | June 18, 2018, 12:24 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I consider myself a little bit introvert. I think, intorverts use books, own thoughts and thinking process to get something like joy from a good converstion. We can talk to ourselves, imagene how we would talk with people, or anticipate talk with some good people before it comes.

We love to be lonely sometimes, because it's hard to fin'd someone with same interests.

@markgritter | June 18, 2018, 5:10 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

Introverts (like myself) enjoy many of the same things as extroverts; they just find being around many people to be wearying. This does not mean that they are necessarily shy or lack empathy or don't like people; it's just more "work" to be part of a group..

So, introverts balance social activities with alone time. Solitary activities like reading are stereotypical introvert pastimes. And introverts might prefer sports like hiking or wall-climbing or running that can be performed solo to those which must necessarily be played as a group, or prefer interacting with people online instead of face-to-face. But introverts also join sports teams, and attend concerts and conferences, and go on dates or visit friends. They just mix the fun things that are "effort" (because they involve other people) with relaxation that doesn't involve other people.

@steemapple | June 21, 2018, 5:56 p.m. | Votes: 3 | [ VOTE ]

I think I am an introvert. Unlike an extrovert, I don't enjoy being with people. I'd rather be by myself. Being by myself is an enjoyment in itself. I enjoy setting goals for myself and achieving those goals alone gives me a lot of satisfaction & enjoyment. I contemplate, think, plan and dream a lot and I thoroughly enjoy these activity by myself.

Where Do YOU GET ENERGY TO DO SOMETHING?
I get energy from talking with interesting people, sleep, food, books with good information ...

@alexdory-rambles | June 21, 2018, 9:02 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

I get energy from helping others.
Seeing that my actions are doing something for the greater good is always something that motivates me.
As for doing the things that help me, like work and improving my life, well.. they are pretty self explanatory. That gives me independence to do the things that motivate me.

@strongestpower | June 21, 2018, 2:06 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Sometimes listening to certain music or watching something inspiring motivates me. Reading and gaining knowledge that I can apply to my everyday also motivates me because it makes me feel like I have learned something and can now go out and try it , it has raised my chances at it being successful or better at it just by gaining some basic insight. I also get energy from any negative things that happen in my life, it makes me want to better them and better myself.
