The below video will show you how to make a 1 log fire for cooking and heat it also depending on the size of the log will last a long time. The fire burning within the log lessens the ability of sparks or embers to come out the sides.

It is real nice for a small controlled fire to get warmed up or a fast fire to cook with. Just set the cook pan on top.

Oh nice! My husband and I have always wanted to try this, Especially after we watched this video by Ray Mears about traditional Swedish bushcraft. I think in this video he shows how they used to make pine ski's and pine tar too. https://youtu.be/JKKYtp-AF6o
