Callisto is a separate blockchain that is based on Ethereum protocol with its own cryptocurrency (CLO). Callisto has a fixed cap monetary policy similar to ETC. Unlike ETH, ETC is posing itself as a value storage. It should be noted that the ETC does not have any incentives for coin holders. The whole emission is completely controlled by miners and their influence grows with the growth of the network. Callisto introduces a Cold staking protocol that rewards coin holders for being a network participants.Cold staking is a smart-contract based process that allows CLO holders to earn interest in a total CLO emission when they hold CLO coins at their balances for long enough preiod of staking time (1 month by default).Cold stakers are not required to run a node to participate in cold staking process. Cold stakers are not validating transactions and the whole system can remain fully POW which is important since ETC adheres to POW consensys. ◇ ‘오미세고 논란’…에어드롭 외면하는 국내 거래소=암호화폐 거래소에서 코인 에어드롭을 지원하지 않은 사례는 심심치 않게 발생했다. 지난해 9월 빗썸, 코인원, 코빗 등 국내 주요 가상화폐 거래소들은 이더리움 보유자들에게 에어드롭으로 분배된 암호화폐 오미세고(OmiseGO)를 지급하지 않아 투자자들의 원성을 샀다. 전문가들은 거래소들이 오미세고 재단으로부터 지급 받은 암호화폐 지급분을 기술적으로 처리하는 과정에서 어려움을 겪은 것으로 추정했다.거래소의 한 관계자는 “해당 암호화폐의 에어드롭을 지급 받은 바는 없었다”며 “앞으로도 검증되지 않은 토큰 단계의 암호화폐에 대한 에어드롭 지원은 힘들 것”이라고 말했다. 암호화폐 투자자들은 지난해 국내 거래소에서 에어드롭을 지원하지 않아 지급되지 않은 오미세고는 수십억 원 어치로 추정하고 있다. 현행법에서는 거래소의 이러한 미지급 행태를 제어할 수 있는 법적 수단도 없어 투자자의 권익 보장이 힘든 상황이다.
