I could see the Great White just waiting for me, jaws wide open.
I had the opportunity to be Chief Diver on two trips out to the Cobb Sea Mount. Dr. Di Jones of Simon Fraser University wanted to place a sediment trap on the seafloor in order to sample deep ocean sediment.

Over 200 miles off the coast of Washington this guyot ( a flat topped undersea volcano) rises up over 2000 M (1.3 miles) from the seafloor to 160' (50 M) beneath the surface.
We did see sharks but they kept their distance only occasionally ghosting in from the deep blue.
Like this diver coming down to join me.

I have some video footage but cannot afford to get it scanned. Anyone in Canada know who can digitize 1" reel to reel cheaply?
