My family has a tradition to walk barefoot on the first snow of the year.
Since I was a little girl, our father invited us to take off our shoes and bravely step on a cold white carpet of soft snow.
He said it is good for the immune system. It makes you stronger.
Last week I had a toothache. A bad one. My wisdom tooth was growing again. And my gums got infected.
On the third sleepless night, I was tired of the pain that kept me awake, and I was tired of painkillers. I didn't want to take them anymore.
The only way to bear the pain was meditation.
So I put on some meditation music and start to relax. I started to relax my body and specifically my painful jaw.
In half an hour, the pain was gone. I fell asleep.
The next day, my gums were feeling better.
My body started to heal itself.
From that experience, I have learned that my body has the power to heal itself. But only when I am in a relaxed state.
I have learned, that meditation is a great, natural painkiller and it helps my body to heal itself.
