Your piece was also entirely narrative in nature. You present dialogue but do not do so in a conventional manner which would require the use of speech marks and dialogue tags. You present your dialogue more in the form of a screenplay, without the actions. You also used jarring author intrusion "The following conversation ensued:" and "as seen in the following conversation." There is also no need to point out that the dialogue has ended. Simply follow basic rules for dialogue presentation in fiction.
Your story also lacked any real conflict and resolution. If you want to hold your reader's attention and get them coming back for more of your stories, you need to give them a well-developed interesting story complete with story development, plot, conflict, action, dialogue, character growth. Make them feel invested in your character's journey and the outcome.
