Днес е един от важните дни в нашите традиции. Денят на мъжката сила и енергия или така нареченият Петльов ден! На този ден според едно предание по време на турско робство, са вземали мъжките деца за еничари. Преданието гласи, че от домът от който е взето момчето се белязва с кръв портата или прага. Друг факт датиращ от ходенето на Христос по Земята е, когато са наредили да се избият всички мъжки деца в Израел. Друго предание казва, че на този ден Богородица 40 дни след раждането на Христос го представя пред Господ по Моисевият закон.
