Tips, Notifications and Other Improvements

A new release of peakd.com is now available. The biggest new feature included in this release is the option to send tips to specific posts, but as always there are some other updates and improvements.

1. Tips

The biggest new feature available with this release is the option to send tips to specific posts and support the creator work not only with upvotes but also with HIVE/HBD.

Tips is just the start of what we are calling our "Creator Support Tools"

To send a tip you just have to click the new 'gift' icon and specify the details in the following popup:

Also keep in mind that to prevent abuse we designed the system to always burn 1% of the tip (sending to @null).

Kudos to @cardboard and @mys (beneficiaries for this post) for all the work they have done to provide the API we use to track tips and the support received while working on this new addition.

Expect many more improvements to tips feature sets or because of tips.

2. Wallet Improvements to handle Tips

As a consequence of the previous point the Wallet page is not updated to handle Tips transfers properly:

3. New Notifications

Thanks to the new notifications system introduced in the previous update we can now allow more interactions with the notification itself.

NOTE: Don't worry if you don't see the 'New Version Available' notification. Usually the new version is used automatically when you load the website ;)

4. Easily search for content in a specific community

Thanks to some updates by @good-karma on the Esteem search API it's now possible to search for posts in a specific community.

5. Small updates to the proposals pages

The Proposals page has been updated to give better details on the proposals and the amount of remaining days until the end.

6. Easily review muted accounts

You can now check and review the muted accounts on your profile page:

7. Some minor bug fixes and minor improvements

As always some minor fixes and improvements across the website ;)

- There is now an option to search for post inside a specific community (directly in the community page)
- There is a new 'Muted' tab in the follower/following page
- Some changes in how vote values are displayed
- Fixes in the downvote value estimate (downvote slider)
- Some changes to the proposal pages to give better details
- Whitelisted some website to be embedded in posts
- Fix in Search page and API

Tipping works like a charm! I've got one question.
Are we able to tip a post after the 7 days window? If we can that solves pretty much everything!

Yes, tips are just a hive/hbd transfer to the post author so there's no problem sending it under old posts :)

Actually this is already possible for comments if you look at them directly. I just tested this on a comment of mine. It does not display though when you go one comment "level" up.

Is tipping for comments going to be implemented under the ... thing? I see you can tip the comment if you open up the comment on a new tab, but thats an extra step that doesn't need to be there.

Great improvements. Out of curiosity, is there a way to search for specific tags, rather than communities? If so could someone tell me how? If not, any future plans for it?

There are still curators who are interested in specific tags and it would be awesome if it was a click away.

Those are some awesome updates!

I have a feeling the "tips" feature is going to be an excellent tool for encouraging (and retaining) promising new contributors.

But the best thing about it? It suddenly opened up a whole new world by increasing the value of "evergreen" which has only had 7 days of value in the past... and that will also be HUGE for the future of building the Hive community!

Some excellent improvements, congrats.

Hive, with peakd, is becoming a real social media attention platform. Tipping is on the features that can improve interaction a lot.

Good search engine is also a must.

What about displaying of rewards from tribe tokens?

While we're presently re-doing promotions and improving them and haven't officially launched them on Hive the old system can still be used.
You promoted the post on 3 different topic pages ... they're the first three words in the wallet memo

love the tips feature! I have an idea how to expand this: could it be possible to add a delegation option and/or an autovote option? I am often low on Hive tokens and would rather show my support in a delegation and/or autovote.

Something is going on with the GIF displaying? They are not showing up, and some images are also now showing up at all, only a broken icon. Is some technical issue happening now?

There have been some issues with the image server (we use an external service so we cannot always know exactly what's the matter). Should be solved now.

Great addition with the tipping feature and thanks for the recent one on my post too!

If you can support mixcloud embeds, I'd be made! Would also be good for all the various radio shows and podcasters on Hive as well. Thanks for making Spotify embeds possible too - it's really made a difference on my Hive interaction 😊

I just saw that Bitrex has a USD/Hive trading pair. I wonder if it would be possible to make an easy connection to buy and sell from this app? That would be huge!
