In the last weeks of winter
Frigid temperatures lingered
Coldly snapping
At my fingers

The winter was long
With little snow
Grey and brown
Dead grass of gold

The propane furnace labored
The propane tank filled thrice
The propane was expensive
Depressing was the price

With anticipation I counted down
Anxious for Spring to crown
Longing for extended hours
For the sun to go down

Spring is almost as great as Fall
But this summer was the worst of all
Unbearably hot and humid
With barely any Spring at all

Spring came and went
For just a couple of weeks
Then Summer interjected
Like a hot tempered bully

It was so dry
So dry
So dry
And much too hot to be outside

Summer storms
They were few and far between
Watering and weeding the garden
Seemed an exercise in futility

For months Summer raged
The Sun was screaming in my face
I avoided the sweltering temperament
Not able to enjoy this place

Again I was counting days
Till the next season came around
Autumn is the best time of the year
When leaves turn red and fall down

The last weeks of Summer
Were chilly
Rainy
With lightning and thunder

Fall Equinox came
A week ago tomorrow
The timing was perfect
I've been pretty beat down this Summer

I feel great relief
As the overcast sky
And cooler temperatures
Prepare the plants to sleep

There's a welcome chill in the air
In the low 60's during the day
Hoodies pulled out to wear
As well as hats, scarves and extra blank-

It's---comfortable now outside
Where I'd prefer to spend my time
Whittling spoons and kuksas
Beside a small bonfire

I'm wishing for an extended stay
Autumn is always welcome I say
As the days grow shorter
And summer fades away

That's a rather good poem that you wrote here!
We went right from hot summer to cool fall up here. It went from the mid 80s directly to the mid 60s and rainy. It totally skipped the 70s that I like...
