Its a cryptonight based coin so you don't need an ASIC to mine it. But the thing is that it has been going up in value quite a bit.
I think this is going to be a "pump and dump" coin. It has risen 500% in value in only 7 days.
Price per Bytecoin is 188satoshi at this very moment. This is maybe an option for investement? I don't know for sure.

Good points in this post. Interesting to see I'm not the only one that is thinking about this. It's surprising how much uneducated investors the crypto space has. You still see people invest in this shady and scammy coins. We really need more insights in the market and previous investment results (even though they don't deliver any guarantee for the future).
