Is there a tldr? I don’t want to sit around for 30 minutes for something that can be said in a few seconds. So gold is going up because...? Internet rates with high debt?

We need to get wearing & owning gold to be trendy with the young crypto types. You know, the kids who made money with crypto. Set a trend.

For those interested in buying gold. Don't get sucked in to buying collectors coins that can sell for more than their bullion value. The price of such collectables can vary wildly. Stick to buying just the bullion.

I prefer my gold in run DMC style ropes. ;) jk. bullion is where it's at.

There are some fully backed and redeemable securities available which are great for liquidity but do your research. There is a lot of fraud in paper gold.

I think Silver will outperform gold in the next few years in percentage increase. Silver has both a industrial and cosmetic use, supplies are likely to decrease in amounts faster. Gold will always be the top dog but Silver is not to be underestimated.

That's because we are in a bull market at the moment. Once we go into a bear market we will be losing 300% in a few months. Remember pigs get fat hogs get slaughtered.

People should stop buying Gold for a couple of years and start investing in cryptos and their technology. I really want the Gold mining companies to shutdown

gold and silver is always the safest haven for your investment. no matter they manipulate these commodities they can't control it. one way or another, it will go to its fair market value when everything crashes.

It only makes sense with all the new investors in the world that people are starting to dump their profits in more tangible sources of investment opurtunities- i.e gold.

It is something that cannot be hacked-but could be stollen i suppose..
Anyways- Gold has always been a great investment and has done nothing but rise over the last several decades. THe commodity is likely to keep rising in value has gold becomes more and more scarce in some shape or form.

Long-term, gold is just a counter to inflation. NEVER forget to consider inflation; 2% compounded adds up!

You also need to consider product shrinkage and housing costs when calculating inflation. All things considered it's not like 6%

@pressfortruth Do you think it's possible the powers at be holding back the price of gold are loosening their control of Gold so that it becomes more of an appreciative asset like Bitcoin but with less volatility?

I had this thought as well!

A lot of old money is still in Gold as a safe haven - if they see the price increasing I would think they'd be less inclined to move their cash around.

It would be wise to hold stake in certain rare elements used in the production of most electronics, and specifically smart phones/tablets. When we REALLY start to run low on these materials, your hedge against inflation will become a solid investment.

Gold is good if you just want a store of value, but the price discovery mechanism is broken with naked short selling manipulating the price.

I think that is a dollar problem, because the dollar has fallen very much to the euro and the euro looks the gold price not so positive

I have been hearing about the dollar crash since 2013 but it seems since every market is rigged, stock market, gold market, bond market and money is just monopoly money backed by nothing it seems they can keep extending this illusion for many more years.

Watch people pour out products hoping to exploit kids and become the next craze.

Hire actors to give a false illusion of how things will make them feel, etc etc.

They will always go back to their old playbook, but the new playbook is WE all hold gold in our soul.

What we do, how we make people feel, and ultimately how we affect the bigger equasion is how everything ends up being.

I would have to disagree about bitcoin. The reason its slow to update is the same reason its golden long term. True decentralization + market reliance is a huge value. We will see the changes needed for btc.

Bitcoin cash updated the block size from 1M to 8M, how long this change do you think it takes to change the code? It’s an easy and fast change, but after a few years it won’t work anymore, B-Cash developers will have to increase block size again. B-core developers are looking for a long term solution, let’s give them some time to build a reliable bug free solution.

I've more faith in Ethereum and probably Litecoin, they offer better technical improvement comparing to BTC

Yes indeed many people dont really know the value of golds nowadays.. they get focused on bitcoin.

be in both Gold and bitcoin. Actually, the pattern here is the US dollar, and other fiat currencies are devaluing rapidly. So there is an interest to get out of fiat and into other things. Bitcoin is certainly easier than gold since gold you have to store some place. If its the GLD ETF, you have this crazy tax calculation you have to do each year which is a pain. The taxes for bitcoin will be confusing too if you transact with it a lot, so keep really good records. To be an honorable player in cryptocurrencies, be sure to keep really good records and pay your appropriate taxes. Don't give the tax authorities, regulators and politicans a reason to go after crypto.

It's good to have some fiscal assets when electricity is off.

electricity can always be made. you can even just stick a copper pole and a zinc pole in the ground and make electricity.

Another thing to stack would be solar panels. If things go south, WW3, Solar Flare takes out Grid, Earthquake, Hurricane, political unrest, et al, a person who has a warehouse full of solar panels might do ok.
