WHAT I RECENTLY LEARNED ABOUT DRINKING

Okay, for my blog post today let's learn something...
If you drink enough booze on any given day, you get high.
And then you become tame again the following day.
If you constantly get high with half a pint of booze, it gets to a point you'll need 1 full pint to get as high as you usually get with half.
You increasingly are able to TOLERATE more booze. This is called tolerance.

If you keep up drinking, the chemicals in your brain become constantly used to the fact that it is propped by booze and so, they rebalance their quantities to accommodate the extra kick you get from booze.
Those chemicals are Glutamate and GABA.
Glutamate normally EXCITES you when you need to be
GABA DEPRESSES you when you need to be.

Now when you constantly drink, GABA( which depresses you) increases to keep you sane as the booze tries to make you high.
When you depend on booze to keep your mind sane, you are DEPENDENT ON ALCOHOL. We call that dependence. And that means you are addicted to it.

If you suddenly grow a conscience, develop a moral code or get born again, and you decide to stop your drinking habit...
No booze to excite you. There is still raging GABA in the blood trying to depress you, thinking that booze is coming soon to excite you.
Sleeping glutamate in your brain then wakes up vigorously to excite you since you blatantly refuse to drink.
You start shaking because you don't want to take booze.
If you insist on not taking booze, you will have a seizure and you can die from it.
Very bad things happen without booze.
This is called Alcohol Withdrawal syndrome.

I know we like to hear testimonies like: I preached to him. He got born again and he stopped drinking immediately after 10 years of addiction. Barring the miraculous, it is dangerous for the individual to stop drinking immediately.
He might be born again, but he'll most likely die in a matter of days from not drinking.
He needs therapy to wean him off the booze and rebalance the brain's chemicals with medications.
Until he gets it, he needs to drink.
It is ironic, I know, but never stop drinking on your own if you are addicted to booze and want to quit.
The way to quit isn't by quitting.
Get help. Be helped.
Class dismissed.

Because I know it's a serious offense around here.

The only reason I posted this here is because Olunlade Ebenezer is a friend and taught on this recently in a closed class.

I never knew he had also posted it on his Facebook page.

I wouldn't have brought a plagiarised post if I knew it was. Or better still, would have written it in my words as I understood it.

I guess I'll need to be very careful with my writing now. Only original contents.

I am in my sixties and retired. I have invested some of my retirement money into Hive, and I have worked very hard for over four years to build up my account here. Then you come here and post stolen content, which hurts the reputation of Hive among all the other crypto-communities. Now, people will see Hive as "Oh, that's the place where people post stolen content" and the price of HIVE will drop. You obviously do not care about your own reputation or the reputation and success of our blockchain. This is very, very disturbing. 😠

I'm not here to harm Hive's reputation neither am I here for the financial gain. I'm here because I buy into the Hive project.

I am therefore very disappointed that I could make such an error.

What's more painful is I made this error in the space of 5 days. And I know how this can also harm my reputation and account here.

I'll make sure to always consult and learn on everything I really need to know before I post anything here.

Whether your friend posted this on Facebook is irrelevant. Whether he taught in an open or close class is also irrelevant. The point is you took someone else's work, pretended it was your own and tried to monetize it. Why should you profit off someone else's work?

These were the times before I understood the rules.

This present one was a mistake.

I don't engage in intellectual theft and know very well how wrong it is to take a content without proper acknowledgment.

I don't know what being black listed means to my account or what I can do to get off the list. But I can only promise that this would be the last time, such would happen.

You have been on Hive since May 2020 and your friend is starstings01 who has commented that he guided you. That's almost two years of experience and guidance from another Hive user as well...And yet you make excuses like you've been here for two minutes and have no clue.

I also noted that you have recently sent him 57 HBD, so clearly he is someone you trust. I wonder how he feels about your anti-community behaviours. If I was him I'd be dropping you like a hot potato.

I know the rules and I tutor friends that are in Hive here presently.

I would be in his place today to discuss this with him...
If he feels the next step is to drop me, then that's absolutely fine.

But if there's a way to redeem myself, I'll also be willing to take it.
