People who own Jeeps seem to be in a category all their own. Something about sitting in a truck with high rollover risk just amps up their ego. My aunt was approaching train tracks and thought, "Eh, I'm in a Jeep." Well, not slowing down caused her to have to pay to fix the ABS on all her wheels. Others drive around with all the doors removed. I get it, it's hot, but do you have to dangle your leg way out on the side of the vehicle? Maybe they want to show off and draw attention to themselves.

A trend I've noticed now is having rubber duckies on the dashboard.. And it's only in Jeeps! I don't get it! Some might have a modest three or four lined up in the center but many have the entire dash full.
There's a particular Jeep that I've seen when I go out for a walk that really takes this ridiculous trend to the extreme. Their dashboard isn't just full, it's overflowing! Santa Claus duckie, Batman duckie, massive unicorn duckie. There were so many rubber ducks that they weren't in a neat line anymore but jumbled, crowded, and even piled on each other. It looked very sloppy. I had to go to the DMV today and, trust me, I don't even have anything to complain about regarding that horrible place. On the way there and back I must have seen at least six, maybe more, Jeeps sporting their collections.

Jeep Liberty, Jeep Compass, Jeep Rubicon, it really doesn't matter the model. The last straw might have been this red Jeep that I saw. There were only about three little rubber ducks, however, they weren't centered on the dash. This small collection was just behind the steering wheel. I quickly understood why: he was still actively collecting them and lining them up along the dashboard slowly but surely. Apparently, that was just the beginning.

Aren't all those brightly covered toys an obstruction of vision? A distraction? My mother was once pulled over for having a rosary hanging from her rear view mirror but Ducksworth of Bathington is fine? Well, if your Jeep flips over I just hope that all those rubber playthings soften the blow, and with a symphony of squeaks at that.
