We had coffee trees around our backyard which my lolo and lola used to drink every morning. I used to remember the smell of the grinder which I hated. When I smell coffee now, it smells like heaven.

Heck yeah they roasted them coffee beans. They also had this huge ass metal grinder bolted onto a long bench. It was cleaned regularly but it reeked of coffee. I really want to go back there just to see if we still have those coffee plants. You make me reminisce.

We are up in the mountains, Lon-oy, La Union... I grew up in San Gabriel, La Union... Used to go farming up the mountains in our school vacation. Hated it but made me appreciate life. Lolo and the farming instilled in me really great work ethics.

There are lots of scenic attractions that only locals know about. Proud to say that one of the road leading to this beautiful river falls was a project initiated by my Lolo. The road was named after him to honor my Lolo's work for the community.

I don't drink much coffee either. I'm scared I'll get addicted like most of my family. They get headaches if they don't have a cup in the morning. I prefer to be more natural and independent, even if it means a bit of sleepiness sometimes. But I do drink a cup whenever I need to! It's a very useful drink.

Nope! I usually only drink water. Sometimes juice, but it's a rare occasion. It's not out of preference but out of habit.

Whenever I see someone talk about making coffee is this manner, I wonder what else I have been missing. This is the closest coffee we have

No beans or seed or anything. Just grounded stuff which you pour in hot/warm water and blow off the morning cold.

Well, am not a fan a coffee, I almost got addicted to it in the university because of my excessive sleep, so I usually don't have it around me. My morning routine is more of a cup or two of ordinary water. A little sit-up and push-up (if am not gonna have heavy workout that day), and am ready for the day.

I used to take creamy brewed coffee every morning when I was a teenager. The habit came to be because there were a lot of coffee shops in our hometown; those houses that sell native coffee and put them on empty cans of milk when you order 'to go'. Never tried ginding my own coffee though. After reading this, I just might do soon.

I have memories with grandma through coffee too . I used to make her coffee. Dark coffe no sugar no cream.

I can't live without coffee. Haha! I haven't tried the brewed coffee. I always have the instant coffee. I've heard that the brewed coffee is healthy. Is it true?

Whenever I go grocery shopping I always look at the ingredients of the packet. If you noticed the instant coffee has more ingredients whereas the regular coffee beans are plain seeds that were roasted and it's natural. So, definitely brewed coffee is much healthier. ^_-

I am from Bulgaria, but for the first time since 2009 we are back here. We were 7 years in Vienna. Austria, 2 years in Malta, next to Italy and almost a year in Costa Rica. You know here in Venezuela we are lovers of coffee, waking up to the delicious aroma of straining, is revitalizing. But I haven't prepared it as you said in your recipe, so I'm going to have to prepare it like this. My husband can drink 4 to 6 cups of coffee a day, my 6 year old son loves coffee and he wets his bread there, my daughter likes it with milk uhmmmmmmmm. thank you for sharing your recipe

I used to enjoy coffee when I was in USA. Loved Starbucks there. Here in India I hardly have coffee. Its only when I go for a long road trip. Your preparations sound interesting. Will have to find time to try them out.
