Hi everyone, I hope you are doing great! I’d love to show you a Bubu gown I made for my best friend, Lima.

Lima and I have been friends for about five years now, and she has always been a good friend and very supportive of my business. Recently, she asked me to make a custom-made wedding guest dress for her and her sister. She also asked if I could make a Bubu gown for her. I told her not to worry, and that I would make it for her as a gift, as she has been an amazing friend.

Making this dress was easy. It took me less than two hours to make. I didn’t really have any style in mind and she didn’t give any as well. I just went with the flow and I’m glad it turned out nice.

Even though I went with the flow, what really inspired this dress was the passion to make something nice for my friend and also the love I have for her.
Friendship is something we should cherish, and if you are reading this, it is a sign for you to make something nice for your friend today.

These are the materials I used:
* 4 yards of Kampala (the main fabric)
* Crepe fabric
* Fusible interface
* Sewing thread.

The process:

I cut the front and back pieces. I made the neckline a v-neck.

I cut the neckline design in a red-wine colour crepe fabric. I used a red wine colour to create a contrast with the blue colour of the fabric. I ironed a fusible interface to give it a bit of steadiness, though it wasn’t important.

I sewed the neckline (front and back).

I joined the shoulders

I sewed the red-wine crepe fabric on the bottom of the sleeves as well.

I joined the sides and hemmed the bottom of the dress.

And finally, I attached an inbuilt rope to the waistline to make it snatched around the waist.

This is the final look. I hope you like it.
