Hey, I really liked the spirit of this post. In some instances I might sub in "self-awareness" for self-respect, but it sounds like we really think the same thing about this. The ego is always getting in the way, it is important to reduce its needs!

So i have been sales and a really good sales man my entire sales career , so alot of my co workers hated my attitude because as per them i am too cocky and i always tell them its not my cockiness its my confidence which ties in them telling me your full of yourself and my thing is i am not full of my self if you ask me to help you i can help you become successful also i am not keeping this confidence to myself i can share some its easy know, now i am a manager and all my guys are like my mini me's and they all are happy that they worked for me and making alot of money while having that confidence .

Good read @rubaet! Self-respect is one thing we must always have. This can be possible if we value what's right and truth.

The ego is the key to your happiness. The higher the ego the less happy you are because you have more personal rules that you do allow anybody to violate. Thus the more rules you have the easier is for somebody to violate them.

In order to improve the ego effect, you have to be able to view your behaviour towards other fellow human beings from a third perspective.

What does that mean?
There are two ways to see yourself
1. You see yourself like you do when you are sitting in a movie theater and you are watching yourself on the screen. This is the third perspective.
2. You are in the actual scene and you see yourself with the eyes of the participant feeling fully all the emotions

The reason for you to see yourself from the third perspective is to eliminate all the emotional effects. Because when you are viewing it by being inside you will always feel that you are always right

This is my personal view

Ego can destroy your life, so be careful and control your ego every-time, self respect is one of the solution to tame your ego and staying humble to your self keep you stay on the ground and prevent you from falling from high above. :)
