I am always so happy to see honey bees in the garden.

These were taken using my Canon PowerShot SX60 HS

Beautiful and clear photos. Prize winning actually.

Can anyone think of a reasonable or a good reason...

In what circumstances would Honey Bees not be welcome?

thanks for your comment @bchick - I shall rephrase that to - I am always happy to see honey bees in the garden.

Oh...I meant this as a question to all viewers. Your meaning was clear.

It suggests a bigger topic to be addressed beyond the very attractive photos though, I thought.

In what circumstances would Honey Bees not be welcome?

What kind of answers would you get?

It is a question for these times because someone is responsible for killing off enough bees to send alarm signals though us...me at least.

The large bee dieoffs are mostly the result of the agribusiness greed with selling very profitable but destructive pesticides. Their indiscriminate use is killing millions of pollinators every year.

I love honey bees! Can't wait to get everything set up for beekeeping next spring.

Definitely will do that! I have always thought it would be fun to become a beekeeper. There is a lot to learn. Thankfully someone from our church is into beekeeping and actually gave me a book to get started. My dad is a carpenter so he can build most of what we need.

Those pictures are pretty amazing! I don't know much about cameras, but yours obviously has a really good short focus and a good lens.

thanks very much. in my humble opinion the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS is an extraordinarily good camera for the range it falls into and the zoom is off the scale! I am following you now - I liked your blog and profile. Have a great day!

Not a honey bee or Apis mellifera in the latin it looks to be a digger bee of some type looks similar to http://bugguide.net/node/view/45302 not sure of your location that would help narrow it down a bit.
