শেরপুরে ঝিনাইগাতী উপজেলায় এক বন্য হাতির মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। আজ মঙ্গল বার সকালে কাংশা ইউনিয়নের গান্ধী গাঁও গ্রাম থেকে এটি উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে।
গত বছরের আগষ্ট থেকে এ পর্যন্ত পাঁচটি মৃত হাতি উদ্ধার করেন বন বিভাগ। এর আগের বছর ও দুটি উদ্ধার করা হয়।
এ নিয়ে ঝিনাইগাতী এলাকায় তুলপার কান্ড শুরু হয়।
উপজেলা প্রশাসন ও বন বিভাগ সূএে জানা যায় আজ সকালে
কয়েক জন লোক মরা হাতিটি দেখতে পান পরে তারা বন বিভাগকে জানান এবং বন বিভাগের লোকেরা তা উদ্ধার করেন।
