Candi Prambanan ( Prambanan Temple )
I visited one of the biggest Hindu’s temples in Indonesia which is located at Central Java between Yogyakarta and Klaten, called The Prambanan Temple. The journey takes 11 hours from Jakarta to Prambanan. It has been a nice journey but also very sunny and hot weather.
The Prambanan was a group of temples and if you want to go to each part of the temple, you should start from early morning so you will have a nice weather and good health condition. The Prambanan was once nominated as Unesco world heritage centre.
The Prambanan’s Temple was famous with the legendary stories “ Roro Jongrang”, it was built in the 9th century when there was a Mataram kingdom. In Hinduism There are three God : Brahma, Wisnu and Siwa.
The legendary story about Roro Jongrang, was about the princess name Roro Jongrang who asked the prince named Bandung Bondowoso to build one thousand temples in one night as a qualificaton for a marriage. Her request was fulfilled but the princess tried to have it a failure. Bandung Bondowoso get mad at Roro Jongrang and cursed her become a stone, called Arca Durga at Siwa temple.
The Prambanan temple has their own unique scenery in the afternoon, I can see the performance of traditional dance Ramayana, The Prambanan brings the story of Ramayana with the background of Prambanan temple at night.
Each side of Indonesia has their own traditional stories and this comes from central Java. I will stay at Yogyakarta for a few days. Hopefully, I can write nice articles about the historical places here.
Thank you for all readers, I wish you a great day. Stay healthy and stay Happy.
