Hey @theskim, vote-selling is a great way to earn SBD & STEEM. You will also earn curation. However, it's important to note that we have already a lot of vote-sellers with 15 SP or less, so it's better if you have more (e.g. through contributing on utopian.io, dmania or busy)

What are the criteria of a good article? I think it depends on how we see it its content. There articles that I really appreciate its content but its not that catchy to others. So then, how can we judge that the content of a certain article is of good quality?

yup, you have such guidelines with stars that says about the content but my point is, who will decide if that specific article is 1 star only, 2 stars or 3 stars since we have different point of view on judging the content of the article? Hope you got my point. Plagiarized article is VERY easy to identify since there is a fix measurement on it (if it was copied to other article then it is surely plagiarized)

I think also their criteria should be revised to assess the big picture behind the Steem users contribution as well that go beyond just blogging.

For instance, I spend many hours working on @flagawhale updates and designing / executing the background script tasks which have been part of the campaign against Haejin that have recovered over $25k SBD to the reward pool. This sort of thing is all part of my ethos to render Steem more friendly to the little guy which honestly, any way you shake it (whitelist or not), bid bots are the antithesis of. They make Steem pay to play. I think we get enough of that shit with politics. I did have a positive outlook about the whitelist and hoped it would have happened once they seen what I am about. I believe there is a niche on Steem for people like me whitelist or not.

My blogs are ok. I like original memes variations. I like to zap when I feel I have thought of something I believe is insightful. These things are considered substandard. Hell, I get some serious laughs from a good meme. That's value. I don't care who ya are.

Yes, my full blown blogs are sparse since I have gotten deeper in my projects. If you look back far enough, you'll find some well written articles about religion if I don't say so myself.

But to @smartsteem, I am just another reject. Welp. I'll take that as fuel for the fire.

Do you know what? I no longer care because I won't be using any bots or selling any votes. They are not making Steemit a better platform to use.

I agree wholeheartedly. This seems like a very easy way for a lot of STEEM to go to a few users, making it harder for people new to the platform to make a genuine difference.

The mechanics built directly into the blockchain should accomplish what smartsteem is trying to do, in a more decentralized and more fair manner.

The fact is that humans will always have biases, and a small group of people (i.e., the smartsteem reviewers—only 8!) will have a very narrow set of biases. These will necessarily influence the selection of stars, biasing which authors get propelled to profit and which don't.

I trust the masses more than I trust smartsteem to determine which content should be valued.

Other than appreciator and earth-nation are there another bots to buy votes??

Are you considering to revaluate already whitelisted users? For example, give somebody who currently has a 2-star rating a 3-star one? Is there some kind of application process for it?
Besides that, it might be helpful to know, which content is considered "only" good and which one excellent - so users can improve accordingly :)

Yes - some of the 3 Star Ratings are quite old (mine included) and they need to be refreshed someday. However, this takes time and for now, we want to include as many Steemians as possible.

It's a good idea but you can get better. How? a simple advice, don't limit yourself to only three stars. You could create a text bar where if the people want to give the reason of theirs votes, with a better explanation, they can do it there.

I'm quite new on steemit. Usually I'm spending an average of 3-4 hours to create a post, sometimes only resulting in several cents only. I get very jealous of those posting on dmania where plagiarized meme could earn around $50. I mean posting plagiarized meme would only spend me like a minute. Hopefully I get whitelisted fast. Bahan Bakar CR-Z di Sistem Hybrid Honda CR-Z – Honda baru saja meluncurkan versi penyegaran dari mobil sport hybrid, CR-Z untuk pasar Indonesia. Mobil sport hybrid andalan Honda itu diklaim menawarkan kenyamanan sebuah mobil hybrid dan sensasi mobil sport. CR-Z untuk pasar Indonesia tak jauh berbeda dengan CR-Z di Jepang. Mobil sport hybrid ini diklaim mampu mencatat angka konsumsi bahan bakar 21,6 km/liter.
Honda CR-Z yang merupakan mobil sport hybrid punya sistem hybrid yang berbeda dengan kebanyakan mobil hybrid lainnya. Pada Honda CR-Z, tugas utama motor listrik tak beda halnya dengan turbo pada mesin konvensional–untuk mendongkrak tenaga.
Itu kenapa pada sistem hybrid yang disebut Honda sebagai Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) ini, motor listrik yang tersedia fungsinya hanya mensupport tenaga untuk mesin bensin, sekaligus memperingan kinerja mesin bakarnya, sehingga selain mendapatkan tenaga lebih, juga irit bahan bakar.
Motor listrik dipasang antara mesin bensin dan transmisi untuk bertindak sebagai motor starter, penyeimbang mesin, dan membantu traksi motor. Motor listrik pada IMA terbilang kecil, sehingga tidak bisa memajukan mobil dengan mode listrik saja–harus bersamaan dengan mesin, sehingga mesin akan tetap hidup meski motor listrik aktif.

Sementara itu, soal performa CR-Z, Torikai mengatakan, tak ada perbedaan performa dengan CR-Z versi sebelumnya. Mobil ini masih mengusung mesin i-VTEC 1.5 liter dipadu dengan teknologi baterai Intgrated Motor Assist (IMA).
Mesin Honda CR-Z diklaim mampu menghasilkan tenaga hingga 118 PS pada putaran mesin 6.600 rpm untuk tipe transmisi CVT. Sementara teknologi IMA dilengkapi oleh baterai bertenaga 100 volt yang mampu mengembuskan tenaga 20 PS.
Apakah bisa dibilang sistem hybrid pada CR-Z merupakan sistem lawas? Karena dalam pengembangannya Honda pun kini sudah bisa menawarkan EV mode, sementara CR-Z tetap membiarkan motor listrik hanya sebagai suplemen dari mesin bensin.

Mobil McLaren Honda MP4-31 di F1 2016 – McLaren Honda resmi meluncurkan mobil balap MP4-31 teranyarnya untuk balapan Formula One (F1) musim 2016 yang memadukan warna dasar hitam dan merah pada Minggu (21/2/2016) waktu setempat.
Mobil balap McLaren-Honda MP4-31 menggunakan power unit Honda V6 bertenaga 1.6 liter yang diberi nama RA616H. Mesin ini dilengkapi dengan turbocharger serta teknologi kinetik dan Thermal Energy Recovery Systems (ERS-K) sesuai dengan regulasi balap dari FIA.
Pada musim 2015, dua pebalap McLaren, Jenson Button dan Fernando Alonso hanya mengumpulkan 27 angka. Kegagalan tersebut dikarenakan pemasok mesin mereka Honda gagal memberikan mesin terbaik saat mereka kembali ke ajang ini. Tim asal Inggris ini menyelesaikan musim lalu dengan menghuni peringkat kesembilan dari sepuluh tim.

That answers my question on the Stars Rating. I am glad that I got a 2 stars out of 3 and I know that I can still improve.

I am an avid user of Smart Market and SmartSteem as I like how they review the users and their posts.

I see using the services as a means to get my post to a bigger audience and know that it should not be used as a crutch to boost perceived earnings in a post but rather as tool to get bigger votes.

The platform needs both good content creators and investors and we are bringing that in with Filipino investors in @steemitpowerupph

We already have a very active content provider community but see the lack of investors. We need to put in money as well so that the economy remains vibrant and moving. So we will continue to power up that account and bring more investors who want a passive source of income while we also have good content that is about cryptocurrency.

I started using smartsteem about a week ago. I used it to sell votes and buy votes. I think it's commitment to stay true to quality of content is what makes it stand out among its competitors. That being said, my application is still pending. Since I am not whitelisted yet, whenever I try to buy votes, I can only buy up to about 50 cents. I can't wait until I get whitelisted so I can take advantage of all of its services!

Yes empowering the ordinary people with great content is what this platform is really needed. Thank you for this innovation.

Interesting concept given that most post promotion stuff and bots have nothing to do with quality. Original works (not a paid bot but just one you can call), when it is up and running is good because it is determining that content is original and isn't stolen etc. Original works is about the only upvote bot I ever touch as I think it is a net good overall since it is about rewarding original content and no-one is at a disadvantage with their original content as it doesn't cost anything to call upon it but I'm not so sure about the others. The bots and buying upvotes is a reasonably grey area as a whole topic.

I do wonder though how successfully 8 people will class things as quality or not. Does this apply to video posts too?
I have to wonder what you would class as "original" and if any biases would come in.

For example I myself make a range of content but that includes gaming content and lets plays. A lot of work and effort and creative decision goes into a lot of lets plays and gaming videos (ofc it does vary - some people edit a lot and some people put up hardly edited gaming content), but a lot of people don't realise that and call lets plays etc "low effort" or treat it as though it is a low quality genre, which it is not. I see video creators in other genres shitting on creators in the lets play genre at times.
You only have to look at people like Neebs Gaming or The Gaming Lemon or 2snacks (animation based on gaming) to see the quality within the genre.
I have to wonder, how would you guys view gaming content?
Also what if it is embedded from another site?

Useful to have some idea of what the effect of this could be, either using it myself or not using it but being affected by the effect it has on other people who are using it. Other people in the video creation or gaming areas might also be wondering about this.

I am a greedy human being. I have started my BTC adventure about one year ago with a little amount (0,04 BTC). Bots are popping up everywhere like this. So hard to tell which ones to use...

Smartsteem.com is not just a bot and has been created by myself. Most of the new bots are using the open-source postpromoter script - which is a good bot developed by @yabapmatt, but there is no skill required in running that.

Ok noted but how does that help me pick which bot to use?

I'm still figuring out all the do's and don'ts on Steemit and I hope to keep improving my posts to enable better content and better rating. Your initiative makes a lot of sense and I hope to reach the point where I am good enough to be whitelisted.

I have to mention that i bought an upvote which turned out to be a loss i paid 0.12 SBD (which is worth around $0.20) for a vote that is worth $0.14...

@therealwolf, I do appreciate the fact that you're making what seems like a sincere attempt to clean up the upvote bot space... because, frankly, the community is suffering a bit when any old Billy-Joe-Jim-Bob with a handful of Steem Dollars can buy their way onto the Trending feed with very third rate content.

Some would argue "it doesn't matter" because everyone is just here to make money but that's a remarkably short sighted perspective, especially if your actions end up endangering the life of the "Goose that lays golden eggs." I say it doesn't matter what your objective is, if your actions drive Steem to be worth the same as Dogecoin.

Anyway, I see more and more "higher profile" users I follow and respect show up in your "whitelist" so I guess there must be something to this, so I'll check it out!

Assist me in taking down THE biggest abuser on steemit!

I exposed @berniesanders for what he really is in my posts.

Just take a look at any of my posts (which I HAD to spam constantly to drain his VP and also to get the exposure I needed) and you can see just how far the abuse goes by @berniesanders.

He even got lazy at one point in making alternate accounts to abuse with and made "nextgen-InsertNumberHere-" accounts!

Please, do your due dilligence and check out, not only my posts, but his steemd track record on upvotes/downvotes. He's got many many more accounts than just the ones I've found, I'm sure, but those were only the ones that I could PROVE were his beyond a shadow of a doubt (based on voting/downvoting patterns, delegations, transactions, etc!)!

The real abuser here is the one who cries "ABUSE!!" the most, it is, none other than the inbred, cousin-fucker, that is, @berniesanders! :))

@smartsteem you should also create a mechanism how to report some abusers are still bidding and promoting spams ,There should be communication between Bot ownership and steem community so that we do our effor to find the spammers

Hey @smartsteem your website is down, yo. But I guess you know. Hey cool idea what if you set up bot that would auto post here or a different account says a support page or something to let people know when you are experiencing difficulties. Something like that would go a long way to building trusted relationships even stronger. Just an idea.

More and more people are complaining against SMARTSTEEM up-voting bot. Many people who do not get an upvote, are not getting their money back. Some people are also complaining that those who react are getting targetted by regular dwn-voting by some other accounts maintained by smartsteem for this purpose, and whenever somebody get some money by paying some bots, immediately this guy will come and down-vote, spoiling many SBDs earned by that post. If you complain against Smartsteem, you will be regularly targetted by this guy. So, be careful when you use their service, you may lose your transferred SBD.
It is my responsibility to inform this matter to my fellow-steemers. So, I am now reaching to all posts of important bots in the steembottracker and posting my message as reply to all posts of everybody using the bots so that maximum people will become aware of the issue.

This is an awesome idea and im excited to use this.

I applied to be whitelisted and got declined, which is ok :) I post mainly gaming videos via Dtube so I understand that my stuff isnt to everyones taste. The videos I create do take me a long time to record and edit etc. Are there any tips you have for me to improve the quality of my posts. I am happy to hear opinions on how I can best improve my content as I don't want them to be viewed as bad.

Smartsteem gang attacked me too.....Noticed the warning of @savemax about smartsteem bot. Savemax is telling the truth, now smartsteem is attacking me too. The reason is very funny. Savemax had transferred some SBD to me, selling his SBD and buying INR from me. So smartsteem thought that my account also belongs to @savemax, and started attacking me too. All the accounts maintained by smartsteem which are mentioned in the post of @savemax, are down-voting my posts and wiping out all the earnings I made. This is very un-ethical. Tomorrow, if @savemax transfers some SBD to some other reputed account, smartsteem and his gangs will attack that account too. @savemax is telling the truth, Do not use smartsteem, otherwise you may sometimes lose all the transferred money without getting an up-vote. This was the post by @savemax: Please convey this message to others. SMARTSTEEM has some technical problem. It many times does not vote and does not return your money. But the worst part of the story is that if you ask for return of your money or complain, the accounts known as @clvr , @therealwolf , @smartmarket and @mac-bot will start attacking you. You can check this on my account at https://steemd.com/@savemax .They have also attacked other steemians thinking that it is my another account, because I had transferred SBD to them (for selling, actually). You can also check this on the accounts of https://steemd.com/@onnurandid and https://steemd.com/@randumoonnid .Once they start attacking, whenever you use any bot and get some vote, they will downvote you using appropriate voting weight of downvote so that most portion of your return is wiped out. Then you have no other option than to abandon that account and start a new steemit account. But, when you do that, be very careful that you should not do any type of transaction from the affected account to the new account, otherwise they will start attacking that account too. Anyway, your infected accounts can be safely used to hold your SP & SBD and to earn curation rewards. The best option is that, those people who lose the transferred money to SMARTSTEEM and does not get it returned, should not ask them and should not complain so that at least your account will be safe from their attack. Just forget that money. Now I am using new accounts and I take care to avoid any type of transaction or up-voting or similarity of posts between the affected and not-affected accounts. Even though they can attack and hide my post, I am using the option to convey this message to my fellow-steemians as a memo of transferring 0.001SBD or steem.
