Silver bought with Bitcoin from SD Bullion

Ive been thinking about buying some gold and silver for awhile. Decided to buy a little silver to get my feet wet in the precious metals world. Also since Ive found a great community @ssg-community, its encouraged me to make a purchase and to do a video about it.

It started with me using Bitcoin to pay for my SD Bullion order. May sound straight forward but this is the first time I had to pay a “BTC invoice” which I needed to download a different mobile wallet (Mycelium) to support that payment method. After that I paid for my order and within a few days I got my order shipped to my door. I purchased from SD Bullion, they seem to be a reputable source. When the package arrived it said “SD Bearings” on it, which I found interesting. Sounded like a package full of ball bearings, which I guess would be heavy as well and may make the package contents seem something its not.

When I opened the package I had an invoice on top which I edited out of the video as it had my name and address of it. I show off the coins I got, which are 2019 1oz Silver SD Bullion rounds and 2016 Silver Eagles/Walking Liberty rounds. I paid between fifteen and seventeen dollars per coin and I am quite impressed with their craftsmanship.

I put gloves on and take them out of their packages to show off the coins without glare being caused by the plastic sleeves. I show off the coins on my table and talk about them a little bit. I plan on doing a video with some better closeups soon but for now I wanted to share my recent silver buying experience.

I've Purchased a pair of Silver Dogecoin rounds from the Shibe Mint using Dogecoin.
And I've traded some Litecoin for a Silver Channel Bar from a well known YouTube Stacker.

I should probably use gloves when handling my silver, but I don't usually... 😬 I just try to handle them as little as possible and keep them in the little protective containers most of the time.

You mentioned the “SD Bearings” notation on the package — I have ordered from Golden State Mint and noticed something like "Golden State Machine Parts" in the return-address. I think that must be something they do to disguise the contents as something of value, to deter theft.

As usual, the Dtube video would not play for me, but it is a pretty piece, based on what I see in that photo at top! It is awesome that you are adding to your silver collection! Thanks for sharing this in PYPT! 😊

@thekittygirl yeah wearing gloves makes me feel better about handling brand new coins.. if they are used it does not really matter. But I don't think it's a big deal to handle them outside of their wrapping just rather keep mine as clean as possible.

Hah yeah I think it is to disguise the boxes. Pretty smart idea on their parts. If the dtube video does not work give my alternative link a try at the bottom of my video description.
