Desfrán – Day 30

BY: @solominer | CREATED: April 20, 2026, 3:59 p.m. | VOTES: 469 | PAYOUT: $39.74 | [ VOTE ]

With just a little over a week from their planned planting date, I think they should be ready for ground when it comes time. We are still getting freezing days even late into April, so I find myself biding my time on these until its safe enough to plant. As days even dropping under 40F can really strain them. And we are indeed getting days into the 30s and 20s sometimes. So I will keep them in their tent until May 1st.

Taking a step back, we can see all four plants. The bottom left doing the best of the bunch.

I have little doubt in this one, and if it ends up taking off and the others die out I can take cuttings from this one and start clones. Though they would be pretty far behind compared to the mother, I could still probably propagate fast enough to get back to all four plants if they did not do well.

But chances are they will grow out of their funk and become some great sativa plants.

Getting them ready for the spring sunlight I have raised the LED lighting intensity to 50%

https://i.postimg.cc/Y05yT3Sk/P1017137.jpg

Seems they are handling it well, being on 25% before I dont want them shocked when they are planted outside.

The yelling of the bottom leaves was due to too much light in the beginning. I started off the seedlings with 50% which was probably too much. Since this LED light is new to me I am still dialing in its settings.

All are doing well, giving them mistings many times a day.

https://i.postimg.cc/WzBfxn4h/P1017145.jpg

I have fed them twice now, and seemed to grow a little bigger after each time.

Its always so hard to say which of the four will do the best. Sometimes surpassing others along the way as each of them wake up.

With the leaves "praying upwards" they are wanting the light and not overwhelmed at this point. Early on the leaves were folding downwards telling me they were getting too much light. So I adjusted the height and intensity to help them.

So now we wait, for warmer weather. In another week and a half I should be good to go to plant outside. I will do another update post on day forty, hopefully they will have grown even more from that point. But regardless I am looking forward to seeing them grow throughout the summer. Being my first sativa growing outdoors it could be interesting, I have been told pure sativas are harder to grow. So I guess soon we will find out.

Happy 4/20 y'all

Not a marijuana user, but I’ve always been really interested in growing plants. What I find most interesting, beyond the techniques, is understanding why things happen, like the leaves turning yellow because of too much light. It’s that sensitivity to read the plant that really stands out to me. I think every day is a chance to learn. Hope everything goes well for you once you transplant those seedlings into the soil!

Ah yeah its always hard to say what caused the leaves to change colors.. But as long as they grow out of their funk they should be fine.

thanks.. soon it will be time.

Those are looking pretty good, especially the one! I guess you have to adjust the LED's to find the right level to make them happy, but you're figuring it out. Hopefully it will warm up soon so they can start hardening up for the outdoors. Hopefully they will produce a lot of nice buds!

Yep dialing in the light when they are seedlings can be a challenge. Too little and they grow too lanky.. but too much light stunts them..

thanks, I do hope so too.

The plants all seem to be thriving, but there's always one that's a little bigger. Hopefully, when they're moved outdoors, they'll all be at the same height.

Ah yeah I used to post there alot, but since hive garden supports cannabis posts I find posting in there is better for engagement.
