With less than a week left before they are moved outside, the days are counting down and waiting for mornings to be a little warmer. Cannabis plants get stressed when they are exposed to temperatures under 40F (4C). And they are still calling for mornings that cool in the weather forecast, so I am waiting for the worst of the cold mornings to be over. And if all looks good on the forecast for the following week I will plant them come early May.

While these plants have been growing indoors, I have been preparing their outdoor spots.

Previously I had deep narrow holes for the plants to grow in. But after doing some research into the root systems of cannabis plants I decided a bowl shaped hole is better for them.

I had some left over fertilizer from last year, so I brought that with me. It has a mix of potassium, copper, zinc, phosphorus and nitrogen.

Added a couple scoops into each of the potting soil mounds I am going to be adding to the holes.

It eats it right up, with close to 100 pounds of soil per hole it should be a good addition.

Mixing it all up I place them into the holes and let the dirt and fertilizer mix for a good week before putting anything in there with it.

Now you can really see the holes.

Really looking forward to this grow. I focused on genetics this time around, picking lineage from wild cannabis plants growing in Thailand. With such humid places in its genetics I think it should adapt well to The South.

I give these plants the go ahead when its time to plant them. They look strong enough to handle a transplanting at this point.

All of them are coming along nicely now.

This one is a little darker green than the others, but seems happy.

When I put them in the ground outside, they are going to look so tiny at first. Just like when these seedlings first emerged from the ground on week one. But just happens to be the holes I will be putting them in are many times bigger than these pots. You could easily fit three of these 7 gallon pots in the new holes I dug.
Looking like the first week of May should be good for planting outside. So the next update should have them in the ground if all goes good with the Spring weather. Then its time to truly see how big these plants get, with all spring, summer and into early autumn they will have many months to grow into true fully grown plants.
