This morning splinterlands announced the planned new rewards system which will be release on 22th May. It's really a exciting announcement for most of us.

In this announcement, it includes 4 main portions. the rest ones, I will skip. In stead the reader can go the original article from Splinterlands:
In overall, the new reward system requires players to accumulate the "Rewards Shares" in order to claim the number of loot chest depends on how many "Rewards Shares" they have. The "Rewards Shares" could obtained via winning the ranked battles.
- The starter card will reduces the amount of the reward shares earned from the won battle with below table.
- Different leagues earn you different Rewards Shares /win. and number of loot chest is defined by how many Rewards Share earned at the time of claim.
Immediately, the question is why the Diamond and Champion Rewards Shared required for 100 Chests are significantly lower than Gold league. if this is the typo from splinterlands?

Either cards, Dec, portion, packs or gold foils rewards, it is expected to be significantly increased with the multiplier in each league. see in below table.
With all these key changes, here I have few thoughts and the final takeaways

Generally it will increase the earning for all players including bots.

Unrealistic chest qty is described in the announcement for human players, but it's more achievable for Bots. Eg. "It can reaches 150 chest for each leagues" but the question is how it's achievable for human players without 7/24 battle? Can ignore this question for bots owners.

Get rid of starter cards will solve the issues that bots take economy out from system without investing in cards. Therefore more or less the change will drive the rental cost or cards price up but it has limited effort for the low level bots. Anyway, starter cards do not work at all when you go to silver or gold up leagues. Therefore it does not solve the problem "I have all my own cards and I use bots to farm rewards 7/24 while rest human players plays significant less" therefore the rewards.

More rewards (either cards or Dec) will be dumped into the market and players for the favor of "increasing rewards" . But it also will inflates the market which results the devalue of the asset to in splinterlands. Maybe more cards, DEC will be received but with all those get devalued ,may end with same total value or even lower.

Potentially this change pushes the game more toward to the bots centroid strategy. Eg. One of my friends recommended a bot which requires $10 to purchase the NFT licence token to use. And rest charge just deduct from what bot helps you earn. Take gold league as example, bot takes 15% and 10% for diamond up leagues. What a nice deal to have the bot manage my gold deck account and farm that 150 season end chests ,420 daily chests (30/day x 14 days) and pay it 70 chests as commissions. Even the bots will take 50% the remaining will be still better than most of the human player who plays manually.
Takeaways from all above.
New rewards system will be exciting changes. But if the bots will not get controlled, this change will bring more downside than up. More human player from different leagues will go to bots to max the earning from the new system. Eventually turn game to be bots centroid environment.
