Arachnes primarily inhabit the Deep and are considered one of the most feared predators of its subterranean ecosystem. They are highly aggressive and territorial and will attack any who venture within their domain.
They frequently employ a complex, strategic set of webs to create traps and barriers to ensnare their prey before devouring them at their leisure. Some are highly venomous. Others are adept magic users and healers—although oftentimes even their spells of healing are toxic.

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my Splinterlands fan art post. I’m excited to share with you my latest fan art. For this entry, I’ve chosen to draw an Epic Death Unit from the Rebellion Rewards Card Set. This is one of my favorite card especially when one of the rulesets is Noxious Fumes, because its Corrupted Healing ability restores 70% of all allied's HP every round. It is like an area heal in MMORPG!

The concept of this fan art is to create a cute version of Arachne Weaver in a medidating pose.
I used the following tools and apps in creating this fan art of Calabash Sage.
- Android Tablet
- Sketchbook for Mobile
Step-by-step creation process:
- Clean line art over a grayish background.
- Base color in reference to the original image.
- Applied shadows using multiply layer. I also duplicated the layer and made the other one slightly blurred.

Added soft glow in another layer and added a solid background aura.

Finally, added a web like background with floating bubbles.

What I enjoyed the most in creating this fan art is the happy aura that can be seen in its face. Even though originally this is a menacing character, I hope I gave it a different impression to players/readers.
