@steevc just finished a 7.17km run, that lasted for 44 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 515.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
As we started June the weather really changed and it rained a lot last night. There were a few drops this morning, so I put on my Hive hat, but it was not too bad. My legs are a little tired from the long run on Sunday, so I just did a regular loop around Fairfield without worrying about heart rate. I feel I need a mix of runs so this was quicker than Sunday, but not really a pace run.

I saw a few other runners, but nobody I know. There are some I see fairly often, but I am not sure if they get to parkrun.

There was a big branch down, but I could just duck under it. The ground was wet, but that track to the west of Fairfield does not get very muddy. I just had to dodge some puddles.

Now that Move in May is over (I came 3rd) I may not stretch the distance out as much and will not bother logging walks, but I will try to keep up a decent distance each month.

Coming back through the village a car splashed my legs. I am not sure if it was deliberate, but they could probably have moved out a bit. It was no big deal anyway.

It rained again later, but then the sun came out. The garden will be lapping it up and the water butts will be full. I should be able to pick some raspberries this week.

Enjoy the weather and run free!

My wife and I went for a walk yesterday after work, so I thought I wouldn't be quite as ready to go on my treadmill routine this morning. Turns out I was better than I thought I would be.

That's good that you could get back on the dreadmill. I would have been okay if it had rained, but happy enough to stay dry and I wanted to get out.

Here today we are having a pause from the rain, so this morning we enjoyed a long walking (not running, just a quiet walk 😁) with some friends who came here from another city. I hope you can pick some raspberries soon!! Hugs frome me and Paolo. ❤️

Enjoy your walks. It's nice out now and I will do some gardening after work. My other half had some raspberries, so I will pick some more if there any left. It is looking like a good crop.

What happened to that tree? How does it fall?

Maybe the wind? These things happen.

Ahh, that might be the possible reason;

The Paradox of the Withering Garden: On Control, Deception, and the Illusion of Growth

The Impossibility of Cultivation Through Destruction

How can you expect a garden to flourish when you are systematically uprooting every seed that dares to sprout?

This is the central paradox of Hive. It is a contradiction so stark, so blindingly obvious, that only the willfully blind can fail to see it. You ask for growth. You preach adoption. You urge the world to buy into the vision, to invest their time, their creativity, and their capital into the ecosystem.

Yet, simultaneously, you downvote people away.

You cast your digital stones not at spam, not at abuse, but at independence. At dissent. At the new voices that might one day become the backbone of the community. You treat curation not as a service, but as a siege. And while you push these creators toward the exit, you farm the very asset you are asking them to believe in.

You are selling a house while burning down the foundation.

The Mechanics of the Lie

Stop selling the lie.

It is a tired narrative, worn thin by repetition. You speak of decentralization as if it were a current reality, rather than a forgotten promise. But look at the ledger. Look at the power structures. Look at the voting patterns that move in synchronized lockstep, defying the chaos of organic human behavior.

Hive is not decentralized.

It is run by less than a handful of people who have full control. A clique. A cartel. A small group of whales and their allied accounts who hold the keys to the kingdom. They decide what is seen. They decide what is rewarded. They decide who stays and who goes.

This is not a network. It is a fiefdom.

The Farming of Illusion

And what do these controllers do with their power? They farm.

They extract value from the system they claim to protect. They use their concentrated voting power to maximize their own rewards, draining the liquidity that should be flowing to the creators. They treat the blockchain not as a public square, but as a private mine.

And then they have the audacity to ask others to buy in. To trust. To invest.

But why would anyone buy a ticket to a game where the rules are written by the house, and the house always wins? Why would anyone plant their flag in soil that is poisoned by the very hands that claim to tend it?

The Exodus of the Awake

This is why the growth has stalled. This is why the energy has shifted.

People are not leaving because they dislike the technology. They are leaving because they despise the tyranny. They are fleeing to Blurt.blog, where the most radical innovation is also the simplest: there is no downvote button. Where your voice cannot be erased by a whim. Where what you earn—through sweat, through soul, through courage—you keep.

They are returning to Steemit, where the culture has matured beyond the weaponization of consensus.

They are seeking places where freedom is not a marketing slogan, but a structural reality.

A Final Plea for Honesty

So, stop the pretense.

Admit that Hive is centralized. Admit that it is controlled by a few. Admit that the "community" is often just a facade for a farming operation.

Or better yet, change it.

Break the chains of concentration. Distribute the power. Stop downvoting the truth. Stop farming the trust of the naive.

Because you cannot sell a lie forever. Eventually, the buyers wake up. Eventually, the garden dies. And all that remains is the silence of those who left, and the hollow echo of those who stayed to farm the ashes.

For in the end, a blockchain is only as strong as the trust it holds. And trust cannot exist where control is absolute and freedom is an illusion.
