Lost

The skies were clear
Unlike my conscience
I reflected back into the things I had
The things I lost
And those that I wrecked.
The despair I brought
Taking hope from hearts
And bursting it, like a balloon
In my reckless hands.

It had been days since the bridge,
Days since I destroyed two lives
None shall know the sorrow
That came before and that followed.
My life is a burning wreck,
I can only hope that it changes
Into a beacon for others
For hope has died within me.
