It’s been a while haha. Flew back to my hometown to run some wedding errands, and I’ve been occupied ever since.
We plan to register our marriage in UTC Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara.
Well one thing for sure, I’ve totally underestimated the whole process of this.
Such a tedious procedure, and the whole day felt like amazing race for my fiancé and I.
Thank God I have a friend who just got married a week ago, and I’ve consulted her the day before, so that we won’t end up wasting time.
Last time, My bad experience was going to a government office, finding parking itself is already hectic, and only to find out I didn’t bring the necessary documents such as IC, passport photo, and etc, and I have to come back the next day. 😒😒😒
(If you’re a malysian, you would know what I’m talking about).
I’ve learnt from my mistakes.
Hence, I’m so grateful for my friend for she told me where to go, what doc to bring, what to be expected and so on!
If you’re in KK, you’re a Christian and you’re planning to get married. Here are the few tips:
Errand 1: Photostate IC (prepare few copies) and take passport photos.

Errand 2: Collect JPN form from BCCM Chinese General Council
Depending on the church you go to, I happened to grow up in BCCCM, and my officiant is also from BCCM, hence I went to his office to get the form.
Errand 3: Fill in the form.
Like duh right? Haha it was a hot day. And we decided to just chill in a coconut shop to enjoy some pandan coconut drink! What a refreshing drink!
Errand 4: Commissioner of oath @ court

One of the mistake calvin and I did was we did not check the operating hours before we went.
So here we are, with our documents ready at 1pm, only to find out they are having lunch break.
Operation will only be resumed at 2-3.30pm.
We had to walk all the way back to our car to add in parking coupons. Not to mention it was a hot hot hot day. We were sweating profusely, tired, and grumpy. Haha
Chilled in another cafe. Rm10 of hot cocoa to buy their air conditioner atmosphere. 🤣
10 minutes before the clock strikes 2pm, we walked back to the court again.
The office is located at ground floor. There was already a long queue even before the door opens.
Since they open only 1.5 hours in the afternoon, my fiancé and I ooze every ounce of our competitiveness and squeeze in the room as soon as the door opens!
We just didn’t want to come back this place again 😫
We were third in line! Not so bad haha.
Paid RM4 for the admin charges.
Errand 5: Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN)
The parking there was terrible. We spent like 20minutes just to find parking.
As soon as we got up there, thank God we didn’t need to wait long. 10 minutes of waiting and it’s our turn. Registering our marriage!
The perks of having UTC. Smooth and efficient process!
Paid RM20 for the stamp duty!
After all that, we were pretty much done with all these gov stuff and ready to pass back all the forms to BCCM church council to issue our marriage certificate!
Errand 6: Select wedding ring
Managed to slot in an appointment to select wedding ring!!! 😍
