You can try to build wealth via income.

Or you can try to build wealth via equity.

When I say 'equity', I mean shares / stocks / securities (whatever you want to call them) in, ideally, a promising fast-growth business.

The first option will be a long, slow slog of incremental growth-ish (and tax-drudgery).

The latter will be the fast-track to wealth.

Ideally, then rinse and repeat.

So if you're ever offered:
1. a high salary OR
1. a low salary + share options or direct share award

Pick the latter. Pick the equity option.
