The was a ten-year-old girl (Temmy) who lived in a slum with her family. She has a mother (Stellar), her sister (Beller), and her brother (Charles). Temmy and her brother Charles her compelled to sell some foodstuff for their family's daily expenses. Since their father dead, things had really been hard for them. They had no house and no place to lay their head. Their goal was to eat and survive.
Temmy's mother instructed her and Charles that they must sell the fruits to return home. Charles sells his own, when to play, leaving her sister on the street. There was also a football coach and a good engineer called Bash who is looking for a stable job. Bash thought of training the kid in the slum on how to play football since all his attempts to get a good job were in vain. Bash would gather all the kids to teach them how to play football. Some of the kids don't like football, so he would teach those that do like football how to play chess.
Temmy and his brother would go to where Bash is training the kids on how to play football and chess after selling the fruits their mother gave them to sell. Temmy was beginning to love chess, so she would go there every day. Temmy and Charles would practice chess at home. Charles would defeat her, and she feels she can never defeat a boy. After several practices, she starts gaining more confidence and started defeating the boys. Bash was very surprised by her moves and he asked her where she learned the moves. Temmy replied she learned it all by herself as she doesn't know how to read and gain more ideas.
The kids were getting tired of playing with themselves and asked Bash he will take them to play against the rich boys in the city. Bash went to the office chairman of the chess federal and he asked the chairman to allow his kids to participate in the upcoming chess tournament. The chairman turned down his request saying only sophisticated children would be there. After so more persuasion, he finally the children to participate.
On the day of the tournament, the slum kids were very afraid but they got motivated when one of them checkmates his opponent. Temmy was paired against one of the champions of the tournament. They confronted the opposition boldly and after some time, Temmy defeated the former champion and eventually wins the tournament.
