German Shepherds are from medium to large size dogs.This breed standard height is 60-65 cm for males and 55-60 cm for females.they are longer then tall.German Shepherds have a domed forehead ,long square-cut muzzle and strong jaws with a black nose. There eyes are medium size and brown with a lively.They are intelligent and self-assured look.there ears are large.A German Shepherd has along neck.There color are either tan/black or red/black.

In the book (the intelligence of dogs ) author say's that they have ability to learn simple task after only five repetitions.They complete there first command given 95% of the time.They interpret instructions better than other breeds.This trait makes the breed desirable as police , guard and rescue dog.
