Hello, Fellow Citizens!

I hope everyone is having a great week out there! I wanted to take a moment to share something that has been quietly happening behind the scenes — some big infrastructure changes that are going to set TerraCore up for a much healthier and more cost-efficient future.

This one is more of a developer update than a feature drop, but trust me, it matters a lot for the long-term life of the game.

What We Are Working On

Right now we are in the middle of consolidating the TerraCore codebase into a single mono repository. If that sounds technical, here's what it actually means for the game: we are taking everything that currently runs across three separate servers and bringing it all down to one.

This is a work in progress and not live yet, but when it is, it will cut our server costs significantly and make future development a lot more streamlined. Less overhead means more time and resources focused on what actually matters — the game and the community.

Why This Is a Big Deal

Running three servers might not sound like much, but it adds up fast — in cost, in complexity, and in the mental overhead of keeping everything in sync. Every time we want to make a change, we have to think across multiple environments, multiple deployments, multiple points of failure.

With a mono repo and a single server setup, all of that goes away. One deployment, one place to look when something needs fixing, one clean foundation to build new features on top of.

It is also giving us a fresh set of eyes on a lot of the existing code. As part of this consolidation we are doing a full audit of the codebase, which means we are finding and squashing minor bugs along the way. Some of these are things that have been sitting in the background for a while — nothing game-breaking, but polish that makes the experience better.

With 2700 players who have collectively burned over 633 million $SCRAP into the void, keeping the infrastructure healthy and cost-sustainable is something we take seriously.

What This Means for Players

In the short term — not much changes. The game keeps running as normal while this work happens behind the scenes. You will not notice a difference day to day.

When the switch happens, here is what to expect:

What Is Coming Next

Once this infrastructure work is wrapped up and stable, I am planning to carve out some time in my free time to get back to actual game development. That means we have some Quality of Life improvements, balance changes, and other updates in the pipeline that I am excited to get to.

I do not want to over-promise specifics right now — life gets busy and this is a passion project — but keep an eye out for future posts where I will share more details as things come together. If you have suggestions for what you want to see, jump into the Discord and let us know. Community feedback always shapes what gets prioritized.

Wrapping Up

This is one of those updates that does not come with a flashy new feature to show off, but it is some of the most important work we can do for the health and longevity of TerraCore. Bringing the servers from three down to one is going to save real money and give us a much better foundation going forward.

Stay tuned for future posts about when this goes live, and for the QoL and balance updates that are coming down the line. Exciting things ahead, Fellow Citizens — we are not done yet!

First news update in a while! Though it's nothing flashy, it's still exciting! I hope the migration goes well moving forward. I've been stacking SCRAP... as an experiment.
