Crypto as we all know is not stable because definitely there will be a rise and fall of coins, so the main the point is to just keep moving and hoping for a positive change in the bear market.

I think the beauty of this ecosystem is there are safety features built within the system as dan says right? If you feel hive is taking a downtick you can just convert some hive into HBD and it will prove to be far more stable.

Hive is currently worth $1.85 USD. As soon as it go below $1 USD again, probably many people will leave the platform (again), and only those people remain, who are really passionate, and think about Hive in long term.

Haha not so much for me as my dummy self bought into sps/dec and put about 1k more into hive as the dip happened =X, but good thing I have diamond hands and can definitely see the future potential and use cases. I like the idea that the community banned together after the hostile takeover to create such a robust product. Just being actively involved in splinterlands I can see that project 2x-5x in near future which would of course have positive effects on hive as well. I used to hate the hive keychain and rc credit issue but as I learned about hive ecosystem and splinterlands more as a game it made me really appreciate it as it helps to preserve value of those who are vested in time and energy into the game thus far.

I see you are a man of stoic disposition. People who get upset by the present do so because they extrapolate a tiny bit of current bad luck for the rest of their life. They really are wrong for doing so I believe and only hurt themselves in the process.

Man, love the story oh how you built up the dhenz account and experienced the highs and lows. We really are building something special here, everything feels right about Hive to me. Maybe a lot of us have these blinders on, end of the day...It feels right, so I'm here for the long term lol Too stubborn to stop now!

Great talk man, appreciate the insight!

I am just here to quote and comment.

A money grab

> Even among the top 100 every year you see how the coin behaves after the bear market. The bear market turns the community a little scrappy. If we don't get scrappy will be down and out.

> You will carry everything you learn from the bear. Everything you put in the bear market will be with you when things get better.

We stick with the game plan...We kept on scaling. Building even when we were at $0.10.

Get your skin in the game!!

Wow, Theycallmedan came into Steem as minnow!! That is crazy!! He bought 40-50k Steem at $4 and powered it up.

Hmmmn, having a lot of traders you consult. I really should look into that.

> It doesn't matter what I have yesterday!

> You reap what you sow, so do it with elegance.

I loved this one the most!!

> You want to push someone to the maximum, give them some responsibility. People think that decentralization is people pushing away responsibility.

> If you're in a burning building and with people, you don't like you'll do what it takes to save yourself even if it means working with the people you don't like.

Isn't it weird that Hive is just a year plus? It will be too big in 2 years and in 4 then 8 years!!

> It is not easy to just HODL.

I know right?

> you usually find that people say if I just held it I would have been way better than where I am right now.

> Hive will be more like Bitcoin than Alts. Hive probably has an external buyer who does not care about the price. Hive without all the venture capitalism is doing well and is on the map.

@theycallmedan a very inspiring post as always!!

Holy..... Thank you sooooo much for making this in audio form I definitely found a deeper interest in 3speak and needs to be my next deep dive as it allows me to multitask to consume content. It helps a ton with time management as I'm able to listen to these audio froms in 1.25-2x speeds so I can consume/learn more.

I love how you use so many analogies to tie your thoughts together, with this it is giving me the confidence to invest 1-5k more between hive/splinterlands. Through Splinterlands it allowed me to check out this project and going to hivefest and dygycon helped me learn more and learn about this ecosystem.

I'm barely only a couple of months in crypto so investing this type of amount is a bit nerve wrecking, but seeing all of the dex's also allows me to expand my mind in this space a bit more. I recently just read the article detailing the fork into hive, but to be honest I probably will explore both just to see the differences.

A few problems I have noticed is that the one individual that disagreed with me outing his behavior lead to him downvoting me neutralizing all the efforts I spent countless hours to make/build (Granted I've only been here a little over a month but I've been rather relentless). Within that there were upvotes from jarvie, peakd(his other alias), and dozens of people which 1 downvote neutralized. Took me from 50something rep to 0. Luckily for me I'm here to brand and not for these short term metrics.

Another issue is I noticed people upvoting within social circles which can be expected as this is a social network, but maybe if they vote for the same person it could have a lesser weight making people reach out more to find new content to support instead of continue circle voting. Building base and supporting new and old content creators with less exposure only builds a better and stronger base/foundation.

The dex could possibly also could be reworked to where 1 person can not just bully the prices of the currency. I.e. wax I noticed there is always 1-2 big whales in there making it nearly impossible for a normal individual to get value from it maybe some distribution method that allows people enter in same price point to get same split out when someone sells. This is an important thing because liquidity helps people see a better picture and gives more individuals confidence in a platform. If I wasn't so resilient, I wouldn't get anything.

Thanks a ton for this content again and maybe I'm being a bit presumptuous that you will read all of this as I know your time is very important and probably quite busy, but guess it doesn't hurt to try. !PIZZA !LUV

Interesting and educative Input right here @theycallmedan

We see a lot of investors looking down at new projects, just because they are new. Well, we can't blame them.

A lot of short term traders use the pump and dump method to bag some profit on the short term period, thereby leaving such projects at a devastating level.

This shouldn't be the mindset of a Crypto investor or trader. We need to look at the long term yield and result, which may be x1000 of what we would have gained by following the pump and dump schemata.

Like you said, we need to find a sustainable project that would give us that long term result. We can also help in building the community, as it would benefit us and benefit other investors.

But how do we know a good project?

Aside having a good case use, good road map and much more, one of the things you said which I strongly recommend is checking out how the community survived a bear season.

Since the bear season cleanses the community and removes the "weak", understanding how a community survived the bear season and how it bounced back During the bull run will give us a hint about the sustainability of the project.

Good input @theycallmedan
Think Long term!

I can say, sometimes someone does feel down, their absence here could be because of something that happened in their life, and they are down, not out.

It's a different story if someone chooses to leave and never comes back, it means they don't believe in the sustainability of an application or project, this may happen because of a lack of information or research on the project.

Thanks for the video, I will keep in mind those words.

@theycallmedan
I'll be honest with you as always.
Listening to you is like listening to my own thoughts ( same energy field).
32:20 about the chain even. ( I'm trying to find exactly that)

That's why I did what I did yesterday.
Unfollow all the Hive whales account except you and one more.
So I can show the Ecency Bulgaria community my friend list
Now they can see which of my friends they know.
> Some of them are very popular.
My friend list has more than 1.2 mils following groups on other social media, so for me is actually a matter of focusing just on a few people so I can help onboard hundreds and thousands or even milions.

Some of my soulmates in this lifetime are into Hive but is just a matter of time for them to come back and see the value behind it, and I will try to get them back here.

I'll appreciate it if you can take a look at my short 5 min video where I'm sharing my idea.

And the Value remains!

Health to your loved one!
Namaste

It is profitable to buy in a bear market. In addition, I hope that post rewards will be distributed more fairly. For example, in the Russian community, all payments mainly go into the pockets of three friends who have not invested a cent in the project. Hopefully they fill up and fall off on a low token.

What goes up, must come down. Rinse and Repeat. I plan on being here for the long haul. I just got here about a week ago, but I feel like crypto is more likely to be the go to for currency in the future. With Hive being about the community, some may leave, then others will take their place and the ones who are all about the community will be the ones who remain eventually.

Here is a detailed summary article about the key topics discussed in the episode:

Weathering the Bear Market

TheyCallMeDan emphasizes the importance of taking a long-term approach when investing in the crypto markets. He believes that the best way to predict the future is to thoroughly research and understand the fundamentals of a project, analyzing its potential for sustainability and mass adoption.

He contrasts this with the short-term, speculative mindset of many investors who chase "pump and dump" schemes or rely on pre-mining and ICOs to generate quick profits. Dan argues that these approaches are ultimately unsustainable, as they lack a genuine community and commitment to the project's long-term success.

Hive's Resilience Through the Bear

Using Hive as an example, Dan explains how the community's focus on scaling and improving the underlying technology during the bear market has positioned the project for long-term success. He highlights how Hive was able to continue developing and expanding its ecosystem, even as the token price declined.

Dan emphasizes that the ability to survive and thrive during a bear market is a key indicator of a project's sustainability. He praises Hive's core team and community for their dedication and foresight in prioritizing scalability and infrastructure improvements over short-term price movements.

The Importance of Skin in the Game

Dan discusses how his own personal investment in Hive, dating back to the early days of Steem, has shaped his perspective and commitment to the project. He argues that having "skin in the game" is crucial for truly understanding and believing in a project's long-term potential.

He contrasts this with the approach of many investors who rely on pre-mining, ICOs, and other short-term tactics to generate profits, often at the expense of the project's long-term health and community.

Decentralization and Community Resilience

Dan delves into the advantages of decentralized, community-driven projects like Hive, which he believes are better positioned to weather the ups and downs of the market. He argues that the open-source nature and community ownership of these projects make them more resilient and sustainable in the long run.

He highlights how Hive's community has come together to overcome challenges, such as the hostile takeover attempt, and emerged stronger and more focused on the project's long-term success.

Market Outlook and Hive's Positioning

Regarding the broader crypto market, Dan expresses skepticism about the likelihood of a prolonged bear market, particularly for Bitcoin. He believes that the increasing institutional adoption and the scarcity of Bitcoin will help maintain its value and potentially drive further price appreciation.

For Hive, Dan sees the project as relatively uncorrelated to the broader altcoin market, potentially benefiting from large entities looking to hedge their exposure or gain exposure to the growing play-to-earn gaming ecosystem built on the Hive blockchain.

Overall, Dan's analysis emphasizes the importance of long-term thinking, community-driven development, and a focus on sustainability in the crypto space. He believes that Hive, with its strong community and continued technological improvements, is well-positioned to thrive in the years to come.
