Cliff Notes:
Bitcoin protects your money from gov, hive protects your free speech from gov

feels good to shill a life-changing use case, shill with pride and change the world

at the edge of the most mass censorship, the world ever has seen, not bullish on free speech protocols?
on the edge of fiat inflating to the sky and not bullish on censorship digital scarcity?

aggroed has the right vision with hive engine time to expand it

one reward pool won't scale I said that for years, it's very easy to understand. inflation is NOT for social it's for distribution. Native Hive tokens scale the social aspect for Hive.

People want to be able to take their ball and go home, aka centralized communities in a decentralized network. As long as no one can take THE ball, it works. There will always be a ball for anyone to pick up and start their own game, that's the goal.

The main reason we are promoting Hive on Twitter, relentlessly.

Anyone who are interested of earning extra hive for tweeting, please follow our hashtags #HiveTask on Twitter. This is the latest task, the initiative sponsored by @theycallmedan and @theespeakonline. Great to have you guys

Great stuff man, thank you for this.

I got caught doing something I swore I would never do this past week...Listening to the nay sayers.

I think it's so easy to get caught up in the right now, instead of having that vision for the future. 5 year game plan for me and I'm not even finished year 3.

Time to put on the big boy pants and build!

Appreciate the kick in the butt. This is a must watch for everyone!

Stone flag. I love that...summed up the whole speech right there. The wind will blow any which way, but be steady and vigilant.

Agree with @jongolson, lots of naysayers lately and w/ BTC pumping it's tough to see Hive not follow suit. Thanks for the reminder and pep talk.

Hive on!

Very good brother, you are right, the idea is to keep growing and not deflate the ball as you say, greetings!

In the point! There are good reasons.

Greetings!

I am working on a UI for Native Ads. It Will take time to do as I am still studying for a master's degree, but I'm working for free. This will help with incentivizing communities to burn their token with ads similar to Leofinance, without organizing the process themselves.

Also, don't you think that communities should get layer one tokens? Layer 1 will always be more decentralized and simple to use than layer 2. There will be fewer features, but it's a tradeoff. We were so close to getting SMTs, I don't see why we have to move to layer 2.

I like the idea of layer 1 holding token balances and layer 2 holding the rest. More of a question of what is possible, Blocktrades/Howo are the ones with a lot of knowledge there. After everything is fixed from the HF, talks on the next HF will pick up and we will get all of our questions answered.

I can see a world with Layer 1 tokens, using open source code that is not as decentralized for distribution rules. It will be interesting.

Also, have you reached out to @imwatsi? He is working on Native Ads for Hive also.

Yes, I did. Will use his code as the basis for the project. I will only provide an easy to use website that interacts with his API.

Hey Dan, always love to listen to your thoughts! random question why don't you tag an cross post on @leofinance ?

I forget! I don't like missing out on those sweet Leo tokens, just need to get back into the swing of things. Good looking out.

We need to promote the Open Source Free speech Protocol - We need some serious marketing - we cannot rely only on people's network effect. We need the words reach out to people out there in a more planned manner and better presented.

I agree here, I believe our grass roots marketing is picking up pace, organizing, people like acidyo making the posh token to encourage more grass roots marketing. However, I would like to see the DAO leveraged for marketing, people that can make connections, find events etc.

Im also bullish. Lets time travel and see we are right :)

That's a pretty awesome vision you have, @theycallmedan! Thank you for sharing it and inspiring us.

Opportunities Born from Adversity: Hive's Potential in an Era of Mass Censorship

In a world grappling with unprecedented levels of government control, fiat currency devaluation, and widespread censorship, opportunities are emerging from the misfortune. As the host eloquently states, "Opportunities are born out of unfortunate events. They're grown in misfortune." This sentiment encapsulates the ethos behind the rise of decentralized technologies like Bitcoin and Hive, which offer solutions to the pressing issues of our time.

Bitcoin: A Censorship-Resistant Store of Value

At the edge of fiat currencies inflating to the skies, the host argues that one cannot help but be bullish on a censorship-resistant, digitally scarce asset like Bitcoin. As a provenly scarce, decentralized digital currency, Bitcoin provides a means for individuals to protect their wealth from government manipulation and devaluation.

Hive: A Censorship-Resistant Platform for Free Speech

Equally, the host emphasizes that in the face of the most widespread censorship the world has ever seen, one must be bullish on open-source, free speech protocols like Hive. The host believes that Hive, with its decentralized governance, self-funding DAO, and robust community, offers a powerful alternative to the censorship prevalent on centralized social media platforms.

Hive's Unique Advantages

The host outlines several key advantages that make Hive a compelling platform for the future:

  1. Distribution and Network Effect: Hive has achieved a strong distribution and network effect, laying the foundation for long-term growth.

  2. Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO): Hive's DAO provides a self-funding mechanism to support the development and improvement of the platform.

  3. Robust Governance: Hive's decentralized governance system, as demonstrated during the Steem vs. Hive conflict, ensures the network's protection and upgrades.

The host emphasizes that the combination of these elements creates a "very magical" ecosystem that will take time to fully mature, but one that holds immense potential.

Evolving the Reward Model

The host acknowledges that the current single reward pool model may not be scalable for social media use cases. However, he suggests that Hive is mature enough to introduce proof-of-stake elements, where users can stake their tokens to secure the network and participate in governance, while receiving a portion of the inflation rewards.

The Future of Social Media: Decentralized Communities

The host envisions a future where the centralized social media model gives way to a decentralized landscape of vibrant, self-governing communities, each with their own tokens and economies. This vision aligns with the host's belief that people want the ability to create and control their own online spaces, while maintaining the censorship resistance and financial independence afforded by decentralized protocols like Hive.

Conclusion

The host's unwavering confidence in Hive's potential, rooted in his deep understanding of the macro trends and his vision for the future, is palpable throughout the episode. He emphasizes the importance of taking action and building the future we want, rather than passively accepting the current state of affairs. With the world facing unprecedented challenges, the host believes that Hive and similar decentralized platforms offer a path forward, empowering individuals and communities to shape their own digital destinies.
