I haven't shared enough posts about the garden this year. I was posting more frequently last year. Due to the rains, we were late in planting anything in the garden. It's not right to plant crops while it's raining, as it can cause the seeds to rot. For the crops to grow and mature healthily, the rains need to stop.

Our garden isn't very big, but we grow a lot of things in it. For now, we've planted onions and sugar beets. Onions aren't very affected by cold or rain. There's a period for onions to mature; after that period, you can't get enough yield. The onion leaves will grow a little more, then the roots will start to grow even more. Then we'll harvest them and plant turnips in that area. I estimate it will be in the first week of August.

The sugar beet seems to have been somewhat affected by the rains. Some parts have sprouted, while others are only slightly sprouted. We use both the leaves and roots of the sugar beet in our cooking.

The more you dig it up, the more productive it becomes. This helps the animal manure we add to the soil to spread more evenly and mix well.
